American football more than any other sport is a complete team effort. If one guy doesn't execute on any given play it often doesn't work.

Like when your running the ball, yeah the ball is in your arm, but to run off people and to run bye people and stuff, the strategy is on your feet. Mainly, you need nice feet to run, manouver around people and manouver towards people, jump really high, and to know where your running if the ball is thrown. Not a good explanation but I tried.

I love football (or as most people in the US call it, soccer), but I'm trying to learn the most about american football. I'm finding it very interesting and it's my goal to be able to watch a match and understand it all from the beginning to the end.

you should try to play running back, or inside reciever (slot reciever) depending on how well you can catch and protect the ball.

definitely running back. Its hard to be short and be a receiver but it is actually easier to be a short running back because they are harder to tackle. And having strength and speed is a huge plus. Also, are you agile? Cause being able to stay on your feet helps a lot too.
