  • Beautiful-TNX!!!

  • I have not heard the Vera Lynn version so Il cheek it out thanks for your comment.

  • A great song but I'm not sure it's suited to Gracie's voice. She was better, in my opinion, at songs where she could show her character - high energy, optimistic and resolute. This song is too 'little' for her, if you see what I mean. Of British singers, I prefer Vera Lynn's version.

  • This is beautiful. Thank you for posting.

  • Very nice...

  • PLEASE NOTE the original recording by Gracie from 1935 has now been uploaded although a bit different from this its nice to hear 2 different versions.

  • My grandmother sang this to me as well, and after she passed at 92 last March, it puts a smile on my face. :-)

  • Thank you all for the comments hope that Gracie brings back long happy memories, Gracie does for me with my late parents who loved her very much. I think thats why I became a fan as Gracie reminds all of so much and happier times than today. My friends all tell me their parents loved Gracie talk about an institution thanks all of you.

  • gf1001-Thank you so much for putting this on.

It was my late grandmother's favourite, she would sing this song so beautifully to us when we were children-a long time ago now.She too was a "Lancashire Lass" and worked in the mills right up to her death in 1966.Sadly those days have long gone but her memory carries on.Gracie is an angel indeed.

    Thanks again.

  • Thank you so much for putting this on. I was looking for this one specifically. It's beautiful and takes you to a peaceful place :)

  • beautiful thanks for posting

  • I wanted to share this, Gracies Decca recordings are some of her finest for sheer vocal with her voice, which had matured, and with the great Robert Farnon on many of these recordings, they are a sheer joy, hope you agree?
