You should brew the milk disc first, then the espresso disc. Otherwise, you have to use the service disc to clean the water path for milk residue.
The milk disc tastes like evaporated milk from the cans. You can microwave fresh milk instead.
The Latte from Tassimo actually tastes surprisingly good. Comparable or even better than many coffee shops. Except there is little difference between Cappuccino and Latte from Tassimo.
Just posting this here cause tassimo wouldn't let me post it on their site. I ordered a caramel cappuccino and got plain cappuccino. Just a heads up. Oh and their customer service was atrocious.
Im very curious on the taste, but worried about chemicals, especially from the 'milk' product the industry is using now. Cancer in a pod if you ask me, and for the cost of these pods to make a latte or cappacino, you are looking at around $1.60 usd to make a drink. I'm pretty sure I can make the same thing at a fraction of the price using real 2% milk and some fresh ground coffee in a burr grinder, and get much better results. Still curious as to the taste and convenience factor
@sincrafts Great point. In my opinion real milk is better. Coffee taste from Tassimo is actually very good. The whole point of single serving is like you said is convenience. So you have to decide fresh beans vs single serve.
Thank you so much!!!! I don't know why it took me so long to start using bottled water, but the machine seems to be working better. I have a Tassimo and a Keurig. I couldn't decide which one to buy so I got both!! They're fantastic machines, I use them every day, pretty much all day!!!
@shonaghify Agree they are great machines. Since Starbucks and Tassimo divorced a lot of people switch to Keurig. I wish Tassimo will allow make your own coffee. Keurig does so I use EkoBrew (use my own coffee) right now with Keurig. At same time Tassimo brew coffee and tea better since brew time is longer so coffee very bold and tea very strong. Tassimo vs Keurig is like Chicken or Egg dilemma :).
Do you use bottled water in your machine? I was using tap water for awhile and I'm on my 4th machine now. I'm now using bottled water and I hope it lasts for me!!
@shonaghify Yes only bottled water. It's OK to use tap water it it don't have a lot of minerals. I think what kills the machine is mineral build up. But if you descale machine it will last for a long time.
