  • This is on the B side to help the aged. What is the name of the other song after it???? I loved that song but cant remember what its called!

  • Hooverphonic,Zero 7 or Seal for BOND 23

  • Doesn't work for a Bond theme.

    Muse for Bond 23

  • Well, obviously this song doesn't fit with this opening as the opening was conceived and edited to fit with SC's song exclusively! With that said, I think it would have been pretty suited towards this film, stylistically it's more or less similar to The Living Daylight's theme by Aha (except a tad less 80's :p).

  • Pulp should have got it. This song is pretty good. Surrender by kd lang was great too! Shame the marketing bods at EON were thinking of marketability.

    Muse for Bond 23

  • There are still people listening to S. Crow craps? After all these years?

SC is much more suitable for an ultra fashion J. Bond film with posing girlie models. Pulp is million times better.

  • Sounds much better than the Sheryl Crowe one, much more original, Sheryl Crowe's song is trying too much to be like the James Bond songs of old(Goldfinger, Diamonds are Forever etc) this one sounds very unique and definitely has a James Bond feel to it. Big mistake by MGM not to pick this one imo.

  • also it is not reffered in the documentary about bond songs, so was it really a purpose for bond titles ? Cause it is so bad that I may think it's a fake... But the Saint etienne song is so bad too that it seems too be a fake too so...

  • worst music ever made for a Bond movie. glad it was not chosen

  • @slihfshf Even worse than Madonna's contribution?

    Muse for Bond 23

  • why edit it ? 5mn is not that long ?

  • MEH...tommorow never lies doesn't make a whole lotta sense,,,,

  • As a bond song this is crap...Crow's much better

  • The original title of the film WAS 'TOMORROW NEVER LIES', the producers changed it to 'Dies', I've always prefered Pulps version as the films Bond theme over Sheryl Crows, basically, she was opted for because she was a far bigger name than Pulp at the time and yes, preference does come into it but its way way better.

  • This is much better than Sheryl Crow's effort, but it still should have been Surrender as the main theme.

  • This doesn't quite work. If Pulp WERE to use a song for the soundtrack, it should have been 'This Is Hardcore'. That song works perfectly for a Bond film. Watch the above video with that song, it really works.

  • No, just watched the Sheryl Crow one. Like her but this is MUCH better. At time of writing, MGM haven't yet gone into liquidation but retrospective pondering over theme tune choices is probably not high on their agenda right now

  • I'd've liked to have heard this as a Bond opener but it may be a bit too vocal-y? The wonderful Pulp seem to fit the genre perfectly, though.

  • This song makes me curious of what if David Bowie made a James Bond song..

  • Good song but i like much better the "This Is Hardcore Deluxe Edition" version of this.

  • I actually think this would've been really good as the actual opening theme

  • good song but not really a bond song

  • not bad considerin they apparently reeled it off in a day and a half...

  • This doesn't really sound like a Bond song to me... but Mis-Shapes by Pulp does!!!

  • "Tomorrow Never Dies" was originally called "...Lies", however a typo meant producers read "Dies" which was eventually kept.

  • Hey, my favourite band and my favourite Bond. Boo that they didn't use Jarvis.

  • Tommorow never lies'' means that the paper called '' Tommorow '' never lies..

    xD

  • Tomorrow never dies rough mix

  • I'm not defending the song...but you guys have it all wrong. This is not "Tomorrow Never Dies" it's called "Tomorrow Never Lies" by PULP. It was never in the movie and it is NOT a different version of Sheryl Crow's song. Doesn't have the same lyrics or anything. It's a play on words. He's singing in the "James Bond Singing Style" acting like he's a secret agent. Tomorrow Never Lies means "Live as though your dreams will come true but don't let anyone know until then."

  • It was submitted as a possibility for the theme by Pulp. It was one of many that didn't get picked. They rerecorded it & changed a couple of lyrics to give it it's own identity. It was written as a Bond song though.

  • Rubbish for a Bond song. Too happy sounding, not enough minor key in there. Awful.

Good song anyway. Not too keen on the singer though. Sounds like he's got asthma or something.

  • Asthma? Are you joking?

  • Sure, it's his unique style of singing.

But to me it sounds like he needs to cough.

  • Much better then the other versions. Perfectly fits into these pictures. It´s a BIG pitty.

  • It's a great song in a different way than Crow's version

  • It was issued as a b-side/extra track on the "Help The Aged" UK cd single, should anyone care. :)

  • It's also in it's original form (ie, Jarivs sings Tomorrow Never Dies instead of Lies) on the deluxe edition of "This Is Hardcore" CD2. It's a rough mix, that was probably presented to studio.

I'm a massive Pulp fan, but this is not a "Bond Theme". Great song though, and the guitar is better on the rough mix too.

  • midgetfiesta; I agree- it's a pretty decent song, but it's not a Bond theme.

  • better than that awful most recent one.

  • Good song. Should have been used. Sigh.

  • Why do so many bands think they can make a Bond song lighthearted and "boppy"? It never, ever works. This is awful lol. But thanks for the vid, I've always wanted to hear this song.

  • Good song! not a bond theme though!

  • I've always wanted to hear that track. Cool to see it with the credits.

    Good job on that!

  • Glorious. Simply glorious.

  • Good!

Although I appreciate more the Sheryl Crow version!

  • Doesn't fit the Bond mold whatsoever. Not a bad song, just doesn't really connect.

  • I actually like this, surprisingly... could I have the MP3?

  • dude, where's the first half of the song?

  • Same. Great song, but not Brosnan's Bond... maybe Daniel Craig's though.

  • Although I love Pulp, i'm so relieved they didn't use this song! LOL!
