  • Beautiful Machine .

  • @farmall51 Yes it sure was, even more so when your stood right next to it. :-)

  • Great old British built IH crawler!

The Rolls-Royce six cylinder diesel engine was standard in this British model.

The US model, the TD-20, used an IH built engine though.

The RR engine parts are still available from RR Diesel (not the RR car company)

Great to see a BTD-20 restored!

I know of one here in Australia that is being restored too.

  • @OzzInter Standing next to this machine to film this video, the machine looked absolutely stunning in the flesh so to speak. I was so envious of the owner... LOL

He did say these machines with the Rolls R engines were a bit of a Pig in some respects, having certain issues with either performance and or reliability, he did say parts were readily available still. Then again, the owner of this machine is in the Plant Hire business and has full access to all manor of lifting equipment / Parts etc

  • machine is very strong in italy and tracks are smaller than. the RR engine to a great voice!!! watch my video of L55B

  • @MrStraccio Thanks OK will do... :-)

    Jonas

  • @JONTEJOY That Rolls Royce sounded sweet!! - Could be troublesome though the chap said..!!

I liked hearing it though Jonas, was very nice close up.

    Thank You Sweden :-)

  • Brilliant stuff Paul i half expected seeing you up on that machine,i bet that would have made your day LOL..........John

  • @johnwood57 I was that preoccupied with filming it, I never thought to ask if I could climb up and get some shots from the drivers position. I should have done shouldn't I?

    Next time If I remember...

    Thanks John

  • Here is the devil's machine!!!

    Great video Paul :-)

    Ciao!

  • @sprinter977 Ha Ha... :-)

  • Hi Paul

i think the crawler is good for working in the midlands , the vehicle can not " roll over " , and with the chains you have no problems on the ground , ( hill up and down)

good job Paul , i like the crawlers .

    Ralf

  • @zombiebarricade71 Thanks Ralf - Yes these crawlers are excellent in muddy fields with lots of power.

I want one now - In my dreams eh? ha ha :-)

    Thank You Germany :-)

  • An amazing machine, good one Paul

  • @pwalpar Thanks again Walter - I would most definitely like one of these in my Christmas stocking...!! :-)

  • thanks Paul for the info

  • Great Video, Paul. Makes me look a real pro! For the first time out the tractor went well, with no oil leaks and no breakage etc. It will be seen next at Gamston, Retford on August Bank Holiday weekend. Answer for @togreektown: I was pulling disc harrows to cut up the thick vegetation to allow the plough boys to get a better chance of burying the rubbish. Alas, to no avail, the vegetation was a result of many years of 'build-up' and the discs weren't really heavy enough to cut through it. John

  • @MrCrackers66 Thanks John, glad you enjoyed watching yourself looking very professional I might add... :-)

Your crawler certainly looks good on my computer, shame the sound of it never quite comes across like it does in real life, but thats a cheap mic on a standard camcorder for you.

Im chuffed with the final results of the video though.

    See you at Gamston

    Paul.

  • The Queen drives Rolls Royce too :-)))

  • @multivan2001 Bet she doesn't drive a an International Crawler with a Rolls Royce in it though!!!.. :-)

Mind you I bet she's game to try anything, so I wouldn't put it past her... :-)

    Thanks Nils

  • @Truck407 They are held around the same time each year I think. This is only the second time I have ever been here...

This was indeed a very handsome, great sounding crawler tractor...

Thanks Boris - Hello Russia :-)

  • Awesome stuff, love it ;)

  • @trainfart Thank you :-)

  • wow at 1:38 that reminds me of my back garden

  • @MrFasttrack1 Nice back garden!!

  • 7 thumbs up. very enjoyable.

  • @overcastwithshowers Wow...!!! Massive thumbs up - Im impressed.

Thank you glad you enjoyed it.

    Paul :-)

  • a great video Paul,

watching what he is doing or not doing!

Is he just pulling that disc set around not doing anything just to show the crowd what it looks like because thats what it seems like on my end.

  • @togreektown Thanks Wayne - In answer to your Q I really dont know.

Im sure the implement he was pulling around are known as "Discs" and they are used to break up clods of earth I think after the ground has been ploughed over.

Maybe he didn't have any other implements that he could have dragged around, I really dont know.

The crawler looked and sounded great though.

    Thanks Wayne :-)

  • Cool! I wasn't aware RR had made diesel motors, only aircraft and cars. Seems to be a smooth runner, similar too a Cat diesel.

  • @matt4270 No nor me either. It sounded beautiful up close and in real life.

Apparently though this particular model crawler was quite troublesome compared to other models in the range, so Im told.

This baby looks very nice though... :-)

  • nice work on the camera.

  • @birdman404 Thanks - I keep on trying :-)

If you look closely there is a wispy white looking thing blowing across the lens, I can only assume it was a very small spider hanging on somewhere by his web.

There were loads of the little things blowing all around, getting caught in your face.

I never noticed this hanging across my lens until I got back home and down loaded the footage.
