I was just in Greenville Junction sledding today...didn't get near the mountain though...you are correct though, knowing what to do in case you hit open water is important but only IF you go on lakes...I gave that up a while back...my wife insisted
I see people do this all the time but I don't understand why they do... I know this water is not deep but people do these crossings in deep water all the time...what if the sled engine stalls?
@dursker We do it for the thrill #1 and #2 to get used to it in case we must cross open water during a rescue and yes it will sink like a rock or like a water skier. Don't stop until you are back on solid ground. The people who drown ever year on open water skipping simply don't know how to do it and panic. Should be a mandatory lesson for anyone riding on a frozen lake. We get tired of pulling bodies out:-)
Thanks, we appreciate your appreciation. I LIVE here, am one of those businesses and I know them all quite well. Thanks for cleaning up your language. By the way that is tall grass and weeds to the right, road at the other end where I turned around and once again we are not parked on the fairway, but rather on the road, so all your concern, while appreciated, is groundless. Unfortunately I get an email every time you rant. Come on up. The snow and trails are awesome. Best in years. Relax, later.
i would think about riding on snow, whether the ground is frozen or not it's not healthy. i play golf AND snowmobile AND hike AND swim AND jump cliffs anything and everything on that mountain for 15 plus years. the owner and everyone who works on kineo are very nice and it's unfortunate that a certian few would abuse their priviledges. i know several business owners in the area great little town.
Actually everything to the left of the water is ROAD and where we are "parked" is RIGHT ON THE SNOWMOBILE TRAIL. You are confused. But I do appreciate your concern. We see a lot of damage from snowmobiles every year all over the golf course. In this case the ground was frozen hard. Spring is when we see the most damage, not at this time of year. We play AND ride the golf course. Keep your language clean or I'll "remove" more of your comments.
what's past the water? where did you park your sled? everything around that water is actually golf course. i should i know i play it. get a life? you a flat?
Actually if you knew the golf course you would know that we are on the road area and the actual golf course green is under the water which I am riding on. But thanks for the input. Get a life.
