@BizzyKiel i guess it depends on what kind of relationship you have with your animal, in my case i have no problem handling new born puppies or kitten while the mother still is giving birth w/ her other cuties, they allowed me to be near and hold them. clean them if there are still traces of blood, i regularly clean their space, so i transfer them around and they don't mind, though they never leave their eyes off their babies when i'm handling them. ;)
