Although I agree with teaching our youth proprer use and maintence of firearms. I can't help but notice the kid has no eye protection on. Eye protection should be worn while shooting anyways, but add a suppressor and you substantially increase blowback. Just one guys opinion.
@AncloteRiver agreed. This seems very unsafe. Then there are the multiple distractions around him i.e. people talking to him from left and right behind him, causing him to turn around. woah. I'd be freaked to be there. In addition he doesn't have the understanding or dedicated respect either, due to age. Now I understand that we all have the right to teach and decide what our children are ready for, and I mean no disrespect at all. Just one mans opinion.
@Fopticmonkeyz He can still tag a target at 25 yards with a 9mm which is pretty impressive. Even with such a small weapon his hands are not quite big enough to do a full 2 handed grip so we had him hold onto the flashlight as a make shift forward grip. Hit the targets we couldn't hit all day, so maybe we should have been holding it like him.... (~.^)-b
@AlphaWintermute yeah, hes doing a good job, especially for his age, the first time i shot a p226 was yesterday, though it was the bigger 40 calibur version, it was still hard for me to dump the first mag accuratly XD
Very good. Nice seeing a parent teach gun safety at a young age. What most "naysayers" forget is doing this takes the "awe" factor away from guns. This way the child does not see firearms as a mystery and wont go poking around. Teach them safety and that guns are not toys but if the child wants to handle one all they need to do is ask. Kudos to you sir.
@fireman1291 Thank you for your acknowledgment. I completely agree. Children are brilliant and won't do foolish things if taught properly. To this day he has better gun safety than most adults I know, which just goes to show it doesn't matter how old you are.
A firearm in the hands of any amateur is an unsafe thing regardless of age.
@AlphaWintermute next time let him drive your truck or handle a chainsaw, kids know for sure exactly what they doing at all times so why bother being a parent...no offense
To young for this gun. And you should not let him walk with the pistol. The way the pistol jumps in his hand he could easely make a dobbel tab making it fire as it is rised.
@pkbjorn35 Thats silly, my father in law is 63 and I would stand next to this kid at the range any day before I would my father in law. I realize you are intitled to your opinion and Im not trying to start an argument but he knows and practices what you cant get most adults to do, finger off the trigger and always have muzzle down range. Good job dad!!!!!
Wish my father took me shooting sooner .

@Fopticmonkeyz that gun is 5inches total height and 7inches total length, i don't imagine his hands are quite big enough to deal with that yet.
