@dtrip09 Actually, a stock 99 trans am typically does about 298 hp to the wheels stock, no mods. It will also run a 12.9 stock with a 3.42 gear and 6 speed with a good driver. An LS motor can handle anything that can possibly be thrown at it, 600 on a tock bottom end with nitrous or a turbo is easy.

@fondyboi Those numbers are not what the WS6 puts down. A WS6 with an Auto will be lucky to get 250 down on the ground. My Lt1 swap with stock tune and just exhaust put down 243/339. With everything I have now (Yank SS3600, 1 5/8 Longtubes, Tune, Slight porting with stock cam) i will be lucky to put down 290. Point is the trams am still has alot left in it and the civic does as well.

Trans Am has the torque that those Civics don't have even though it was modded from hell. And the Trans Am was an automatic transmission. This is why I prefer my Camaro and any muscle car over 4 cyl. imports. I'm able to bike to work so I only use my car on the weekends but if I worked far then I would definitely look for that 4 cylinder economy rider.
Obviously the trans an won every race. The people that say the civic won are stupid. Yea it has a better acceleration kick since its small. But the trans am still passed it every race. @faded2blak theres really good exhausts for $4-500. like the apexi WS2. and that doesnt take even 1 hour to put on. its a straight bolt-on mod. maybe the easiest on to put on. and who cares about time? not everybody goes to the shop to do it. a majority of us do it ourselves. and you can put in a motor in less than 24 hours. b-series motors go for $400-4000. the higher priced ones are the JDM ones. like said before, you can have a 5K civic run 10;s. been done already.

It's obvious that v8's can be made to run crazy 1/4 mile times, but in the same respect there is a 240sx that runs 7s.....yes that's right a 7 second 1/4mile time. look it up.....worlds fastest 240sx. The civic just lacks the torque to keep up at higher speeds, but that's pretty damn impressive to be honest, out the hole you pulled the Trans Am a bit, everyone thinks it's all about power the more the better, which is true, but power to weight is more important, a car with 200HP that weighs 2000lbs is going to be just as fast as a car with with 400HP that weighs 4000lbs. in theory, there are other factors to come into play as well.

These are just a FEW of the things needed for a civic to run 10's. 5k my ass lol

@Bduke1000 Nissan GT-R is an 11 second car. the skyline GT-R's are faster than some V8's too. the lexus LFA is also an 11 second car. the lexus ISF is a 13.1 second car, and so is the nissan 370z. the acura NSX is a 13.3 sec car, and honda NSX-R is a 12.8 car. the 05-10 GT mustang is only a 13.5 sec car. the LS1 WS6 trans-am is a low 13 car, the camaro SS is a 13 sec car. yeah there are faster V8's like some corvettes, but like i said, theres alot of imports faster than some V8's.

A civc type R is a $30000 car I don't consider that economy (I have a feeling you might have been thinking of a base model civic). The Firebird WS6 is a $29000 car. A Toyota Supra is a $40000 car. A fair comparison to a Supra to an American car would have been a Corvette from that era.

Trans Am has the torque that those Civics don't have even though it was modded from hell. And the Trans Am was an automatic transmission. This is why I prefer my Camaro and any muscle car over 4 cyl. imports. I'm able to bike to work so I only use my car on the weekends but if I worked far then I would definitely look for that 4 cylinder economy rider.

the ls1 model would have had no problem not that the lt1 on did if you notice at the top of each race the trans am was already pulling on the civic this is where torque come in to play which is something 4 cylinders can not get as easy as a v8 and from a dig the transam had no trouble pulling sad thing is this transam is probably all stock except exhaust compared to a modded civic

@fullrearview Trans Ams are about $3,000 more than Formula Firebirds while having only cosmetic differences. You may also see a few Firebirds with extra options like the WS6 option which upgrades the tires and gives you the Ram Air system which adds about 20 hp. After 2000, Pontiac only offered the WS6 package to the Trans Am Firebirds.

i jus sold my 92 civic si eg w/ a jdm b18cr (aka jdm type r 210hp stock) with bolt ons, skunk 2 spec b valve train and aem cams. i wud pwn hondas and mustangs all over san jose ca. but now i bought a 98 trans am m6. did a ls6 swap heads and tsp cam f.a.s.t. 92mm intake. nothing better than rwd g force and my 452whp to back it up, i prefer flying low in my bird. plus b*tches break there necks when they look at my car and not jus me when i drive it lol

hmmm...an engine swap: about 3-6 grand depending on parts labor and other drivetrain issues and about 60-80 man hours depending on the car
a full exhaust: about 1-2 grand depending on who you buy it from and about 2 hours if you know what you are doing....

@faded2blak theres really good exhausts for $4-500. like the apexi WS2. and that doesnt take even 1 hour to put on. its a straight bolt-on mod. maybe the easiest on to put on. and who cares about time? not everybody goes to the shop to do it. a majority of us do it ourselves. and you can put in a motor in less than 24 hours. b-series motors go for $400-4000. the higher priced ones are the JDM ones. like said before, you can have a 5K civic run 10;s. been done already.

I love how every import vs domestic video turns into a huge discussion on which is better. There are fast cars from all makes, and you can make anything fast with money. It's obvious that v8's can be made to run crazy 1/4 mile times, but in the same respect there is a 240sx that runs 7s.....yes that's right a 7 second 1/4mile time. look it up.....worlds fastest 240sx. Every car deserves respect, even if it's not your style. Otherwise, you're not a real car enthusiast.

Very clean honda there, all these idiots calling it rice. The civic just lacks the torque to keep up at higher speeds, but that's pretty damn impressive to be honest, out the hole you pulled the Trans Am a bit, everyone thinks it's all about power the more the better, which is true, but power to weight is more important, a car with 200HP that weighs 2000lbs is going to be just as fast as a car with with 400HP that weighs 4000lbs. in theory, there are other factors to come into play as well.

Turbo setups alone even if pieced together from the junkyard can be thousands of dollars. upgraded fuel system,sleeved cylinder walls so it doesnt break under boost,FMIC,all the wiring that goes with it, front axles that wont break, tires sticky enough to put the power down, boost gauge,A/F gauge,heavy duty clutch. These are just a FEW of the things needed for a civic to run 10's. 5k my ass lol

@Bduke1000 Nissan GT-R is an 11 second car. the skyline GT-R's are faster than some V8's too. the lexus LFA is also an 11 second car. the lexus ISF is a 13.1 second car, and so is the nissan 370z. the acura NSX is a 13.3 sec car, and honda NSX-R is a 12.8 car. the 05-10 GT mustang is only a 13.5 sec car. the LS1 WS6 trans-am is a low 13 car, the camaro SS is a 13 sec car. yeah there are faster V8's like some corvettes, but like i said, theres alot of imports faster than some V8's.

A civc type R is a $30000 car I don't consider that economy (I have a feeling you might have been thinking of a base model civic). The Firebird WS6 is a $29000 car. A Toyota Supra is a $40000 car. A fair comparison to a Supra to an American car would have been a Corvette from that era.

The Saleen would DESTROY a NSX. MAYBE not in a straight line if you put 100 grand into the NSX, but even then, the Saleen has 700 - 1000 hp.
The Ultimate Aero on the other hand, don't even fucking try. You won't beat it.
