  • IMO I always thought Metrolink had the best livery of all the Socal passenger Railroads. But that's just me.

  • I rode the trin to ocianside twice ,95 and,09 it was very nice you see the ocian and go up a good grade I wonder why it does not fallow the shore all the way I am gladd to see you run both directiond snf on weekends they don,t on to lines in the washington DC aare Mark and VRE and the ACE train dow theey run on busier fraight lines were San DEGAGO is dead end so they can run as many passenger trainsOH, what I hate is these Amtrack Amfleets they belong in he East I lok forward to my next ride

  • sweet

  • I love the sound of the F59PHIs when they rev all the way to full throttle at once. Cool video.

  • why did 463 not have it's markers on?

  • I'd say the Coaster is unique, this is the first time I have seen one. It is fun shaped, the colors aren't bad. It gets prettier and prettier! The Amtrak is really cool. What nice trains! :)

  • im surprised there was a time when 2308 sounded awesome.

  • I don't know why, but those cars used on the Coaster are stone ugly. I just can't abide them. That's one ugly train.

  • @JetMechMA What is so ugly about it?

  • @CoasterFan2105 I can't put my finger on it...but I LOVE the F59PHI engine and the Amtrak trains. I rode on the Capitol Corridor once. Something about the symetry of those types of cars on the Coaster just looks ungainly to me. I've never ridden on them though. Maybe they are more comfortable on the inside from a passenger's point of view. That's the most important thing, passenger comfort and ease of maintenance.

  • Did 461 have a maker light out??? haha if so someone better change the bulb haha

  • It's really strange, all of the surfliner F59's only have the right marker light on.. I'm not sure why, hehe.

  • hmm interesting, maybe for me to be prototypicaly correct I should cut one of my grain bulbs that are wired to my marker lights hahaha

  • @CoasterFan2105 The left marker light is always off is because it is the penalty brake light. In the case of early Amtrak F40PHs, the penalty light would be located between the number boards above the cab. However since the nose and the cab are practically the same unit, there was no space to put a penalty light and thus it was placed on the left-hand side.

In the event of a penalty application, that light would come on regardless of the train's direction to protect it from other movements.

  • @AmtrakFan454 I understand what it is/does, I just don't know why amtrak's aren't constantly on, but all other F59's I've seen, both are constantly on.

  • @CoasterFan2105 The other light is used as the emergency strobe

  • Hey Tyler look! 463! lol

  • lol

  • Yeah hahaha.

  • theres a tumbleweed on 463

  • i love the coaster F59PHI

  • whoa what the hell! two pacific business classes, and two coach/cafes, HAHA

  • LOL

  • gnarly tumbleweed on the surfliner

  • I love tumbleweeds!

  • Neat video. That's strange, a 4 car surfliner with 2 locomotives. Maybe 463 was acting as the cab car.

  • lol

  • nice job!

  • awesome vid
