Yes, it is from Deutsche (German), not Dutch. In English, it is known as Pennsylvania Dutch, but the Amish just say “Deutsche” (so it should really be translated German). As for the electric coffee maker and grill, they had already been excommunicated, but I am not sure exactly what the timeline was. Not sure if you were joking about compressed air, but they use it like we use electric, well almost. Most shops have air, although it isn’t common for them to use it in the house (that I know of).
