  • hope nobody gets hit in the knee with one.

  • @22treck why?

  • Aiming down the sights bow style

  • his bow isn't set up right the pressure button isn't far enough out thats why the dots go off creating a curve instead of a straight line

  • HHA sport optimizer sight single pin housing with windage and elevation.

  • Isn't it achery supposed to be a marksman skill? I mean what's with all these pins and meters? not saying it would be very easy but sure would be easier with this than a good old bow.

  • @JDFS22 go tell a sniper then to take his scope of his rifle. everything evolves. plus this guy is probably going for consistent accuracy while doing target practice. if u like it the old way go and do it the old way.

  • Vital Gear hands down makes the best equipment out on the market. 18 patents with 9 pending this year (2011)

  • no way guy ur a fucking idiot, Expert Village Rox!!!

  • THESE "EXPERT" VILLAGE VIDEOS SUUUUUUCCCCCKKKK!!

    YOU SUCK EXPERT VILLAGE!!

  • @ lugia625. Blunt arrows can be used for small game as the blunt tip provides a lot of shock to the animal. The arrows will still penetrate but are more effective at giving the hitting power rather than a piercing open wound. Since dead things don't pump blood the meat won't bruise too badly. In more recent times I have seen empty bullet casings slipped to the arrow tip which gives the arrow a more accurate flight path and draws the range out a bit further too. Hope this helps mate.

  • i like balls

  • i'm 13 and i got a bow for christmas, i havent shot it yes but the bow only has 3 pins, should it have 5?

  • no,you can get sights with 5,you can get them with many diffrent amounts of pins,3 is what i use.

  • @hornedreaper7 , No, you will probably just need the three. It takes allot of skill & excellent form to shoot a 4" or less group past 40 yards. Right now you will need to work on your 20yrd pin & build on your form, skills & building your archery muscles. A coach at a pro shop can be beneficial.

  • @Westmallewv thanks!

  • @hornedreaper7 Your welcome! Like I said you might want to go to a proshop & make sure you have the right draw length & Proper cut & spined arrows. Welcome to the sport!!

  • it dont matter, ive had a bow for a long time and all i have is a 20, 30, and a 40 yard pins

  • lol i just brougth a composite bow and started to shoot instincivly much better than compound i dont like the feeling of them its just...artificial. and the sigths ruin the fun of concentrating and focusing ur shot and before enyone gives me shit try it before commenting!

  • @damien345 idiot you have to have a sight composite bows are lice recurve bows but just differint string (waxed) so duhh idiot

  • bows are better for hunting because they are silent (granted yes you can silence rifles etc) if ya shoot and miss there is a lot less chance to alert the prey where as rifle ='s boom ='s miss ='s target running away!

  • I've been watching thses videos for hours now and I've learnt absolutely nothing! If there's anyone out there who is an expert please tell me whats the best bow. Recurve or compound? Thanks.

  • depends on what you really wanna do. you will get a longer hunting range genrally speaking, with a compound, there easier to hold back. and prob more comfertable. go to a club range or store with an indoor range and have a go.

  • Thanks for that mate. The compounds look the business but look so complicated to restring etc.

  • Definitely compound for hunting, but a recurve is perfect if you are a beginner, just wanna have fun shooting, or are not yet strong enough to pull back a decent compound bow

  • recurve is a lot less forgiving and has no let off meaning it never reduces pressure so if your pulling 100 pound you will hold it the hole time with a compound bow and a fall away rest you have a lot more forgiveness and it has a let off meaning if you are pulling 100 pound and your bow has an 80 percent let off you will feel like your only holding 20 pounds

  • Depends entirely on what you would want to do. Recurves are great for those who want a higher challenge, but they dont provide any let-off. Compounds provide the let off, and if you plan to hunt with it you really do not need a high draw. Comfort is far greater than power. 50-60 pound draw kills deer no problems. Get one with a draw weight that you can draw silky smooth. Legally lowest draw for deer hunting here in PA is like 36lbs.

  • Recurve bow requires more skills, but its not powerful as the compound bow, compound bows r much powerful and accuracy, i prefer compound bows

  • well its just my thought init...

  • original long and shortbows are better than all these things added on.

  • how are they BETTER? i mean, ok, gadgets aside, compound bows bring better results than simple bows. noone argues this. sure, simples bring more fun for some but hey, if we're just being practical, we'd all just use rifles. if you dont get nastolga from compounds, thats fine but know your facts before trying to go on the offense about modernized medieval technology

  • I use an old Compound bow, It's a Black Bear Polar2 from the 70's. I shoot instinctivly (No sites and with my fingers) I find this works great.

  • @MetalNoize16 all about gettin a feel for it. i lost too many arrows that way with mine so i jus put a sight on it now i'm hittin some sweet shots gotta practice so i can hit them 50's

  • bare bow ftw!!!

  • ROFL, Bow with an illuminated sight and all the shebang. That's like a shotgun with a magnfying scope. All I say is KISS.

  • i will always think that the simple longbow is the best remeber simple is better. plus if you can beat someong useing a new high tech bow with a longbow thats kickass

  • i dont think anything except the cam is a worthwhile improvement on the long bow ! i wud want to fit a cam on a very strong recurve bow and i wud have made an improvement.

  • i don't understand this elitist attitude of traditional or recurve archers that are leaving comments...

being new to archery, i appreciate these videos from experts village. they've taught me a lot of good basics.

  • KAMAKAZE!!!!!!!!!!

  • ehemm, its spelled KAMIKAZE, punk

  • lol, well to get really technical, as it is a japanese word, any spelling in with our letters is incorrect, so whether you use an a or an i really is irrelevant. I know I know, there is an accepted spelling of the english translation you'll usually find, but i think the point remains the same. Just couldnt help but throw that 2 cents in there.

  • I completely agree, happy shooting and traditional all the way

  • Thank you.

  • haha awesome

  • why be irritated so what if they use fancy equipment they are only missing out on the experience they can gain from it the equipment takes away the skill of archery but you get to live it don't sulk over others using fancy equipment boast that you are skilled enough to shoot accurately without and of their fancy equipment
