  • Therefor if the cockroach actually controlled the machine i could see some purpose in the matter. However, as the robot is essentially controlled by the human being operating the lights, it would appear that what you have created is an astoundingly overcomplicated remote controlled car. An engineer would have popped down to the local model shop and done the same job with 4 feet of aluminium angle, 3 wheels and a 20 quid two channel radio. Am i missing the point?

  • I am an engineer as opposed to a scientist. I know that we are currently using insects as inspiration for robots, rather than trying to make them think, we are making them instinctive.
