After watching the golf video, you can actually see where they the balls in and out. You can also hear the odd sound that shouldn't be there if they did what they said. Two of the greatest magicians ever.
@bentm99 Pretty sure "most Americans" don't care how they use words or they don't choose to spell correctly because it's just YouTube... Reason being is they probably don't care what people think about them on a computer (being anonymous) and after all this site isn't a Résumé. :-)
I love this game. Back in Russia all those guys used to display their skills but first you pay money and if u guess under which cup a rubber ball, you double your money. Needless to say, all the fools lost their money. Kids were not allowed to play and wander why? Because of better vision and perception. The cheater used those nylon balls that can be squeezed into a size of a dime and when u pick the cup u know the ball is its not there. Cheaters. But I saw that and knew where the ball is.
@bentm99 Gee, how nice of you to correct other people online. So I was typing fast, big deal. Instead of contributing to this post, u tell people of their mistakes. I already knew I made that mistake. Do everyone a favor and stop correcting other people. This isn't a news agency. Correct them, not other youtubers. With limited character input we all make these mistakes and then some. Good day sir, mam.
@PhotonicDoctor I'm sorry. I didn't mean to hurt your feelings. In this era of hyper-sensitive people crying anytime somebody hurts their feelings, I wouldn't want to be a jerk and defend the language in which you were typing at your expense. I guess I just assumed that you were like many other Americans that can't spell words in their own language. Thanks for telling me you were just typing fast and missed the mistake. I will now comment on the video.
@bentm99 It's ok. I'm incapable of being offended. As a European, I laugh just like u at the mistakes the Americans make. Its sad really that English, while being the easiest language and to the native born speakers is still quite hard even for them. I enjoy watching spelling bee's competitions, and the truth is, to someone quite educated, even if he or she did not hear the words which are being given to contestants, I find it easy enough to spell those words with ease. At least for me.
saw a video of them explaining it. it's really cool to catch little glimpses of what they are doing as they trick the viewer. like millisecond snippets where one can see where the balls are truly going if one knows where to look :) so super awesome!
@elextrixtechnixtree excuse my last comment, i posted before i saw the whole video, didn't realize they also explained it in this video as well. posted the comment the first minute in. sorry youtube :(
1:25 There is now way the man in the painting could be holding a potato. The Potato was first grown in South America. so unless those Ancient Egyptian Paintings were painted in the 1500's, the dude is probably holding a rock. Of course P&T probably know this, it's just showmanship.
This is what Penn & Teller do - they expose how magic tricks are done. If you don't want to know the explanations to certain tricks than I would advise you not to watch anymore Penn & Teller videos.
>_> i love how people hate youtubers for uploading how a trick is done(or a video of someone(s) else doing the trick and revealing). Funny when they insult them by claiming they aren't real magicians for spreading the joy of magic to anyone who is has an interest, but it's not being a "real" magician to reveal how tricks are done...no to be a "real" magician you'd have to sell it in a book =/
As a professional magician I obviously dislike secrets being shown simply for the sake of it. It kills the mystery and people interested in magic will, hopefully, pursue
magic themselves as a hobby.
However, what many magicians seemed to fail to grasp when this routine by Penn & Teller was first shown was that it's still awesome misdirection and, most importantly, it's ENTERTAINMENT!
If magicians focused more on entertaining than hiding secrets, magic may be appreciated more!
oh relax. A book I bought at Barnes and Noble for 2 bucks had this trick in it. You could find a million instructional videos on here if you wanted to, it's not like their giving away some HUGE HUGE magic secret. They're realy showcasing Teller's amazing abilities with it- part of their magic is that you know that you're being conned but you still can't really follow how its being done.
There is a really funny clip of an Egyptian magician performing this trick to Teller with an unusual twist, and you also hear Teller speak! :D

I'm kinda alarmed that someone actually used the term "real" to describe a "magician".
VayMasters 4 years ago 17
they seem alot younger here, they dont really put alot of sence of humor into it like they do now-a-day
mattdjkilla 4 years ago
Because they were actually in Egypt, there may have been some noise restrictions placed on their routine. Just a guess on my part though.

You hit the nail on the head. That and Penn was absolutly flabergasted by how awe-inspiring the room was.

No respect as a real magician they never tell people hows the effect is done. Losers if ya ask me.

so having watch this video you now think you can perform the trick... ok
InfinitusCaeli 4 years ago 7
they dont acutally tell people how to do it
the talking is misdirection
anyone who can tell how they do it from the video already knows atleast basic sleight of hand
so ease up
buckykatt00 3 years ago 4
Number one, there's no such thing as a real magician. That's only in story books, buddy.
Two, that's how they've gotten so incredibly popular. They exploit and debunk things that no one's ever exploited or debunked.
The real losers are the ones who pretend that they can do magic. THEY CAN'T.
Penn and Teller can because what makes their shows magic is that they show you how it's done.
Now THAT'S magic!
