  • Green Number Plate backing - Lightweight Race, prob a TZ250 mid/late 1980's - different sound to a TZ350, No smoke from back tyre so engine hasn't seized, it's the front that goes, I have personal experience of racing both TZ250's and TZ350's at the TT and Manx GP, a fantastic time in my life.

  • wouldnt call it "incredible" but thanks for posting it

  • you don´t want to try that wearing your spedoes shorts!

  • 2 strokes are such vicious machines!you just gotta love `em......

  • so...what was so incredible about it? just a lowsider, the driver seems to be unhurt, the only problem is that his bike is totaled^^

  • @hhoward14 Right'o mate we don't need a full blown explanation. How bout we just call it a "falling off your bike from the side" then that will clear it up for everyone. Hay cobba

  • Too much throttle with to much lean exiting corner. Straightforward highside, nice to blame the engine tho' ;-)

  • @jn600 thats a lowside mate, not a highside

  • @jn600 lowside,lucky he didn't highside

  • it was just high side, not a engine seizure

  • @AussieShagga I agree

  • That was 'lowside'. or a 'lowsider'.

Had my first one fifty years ago! Look up 'highsider' and 'lowsider' on Wikipedia.

To my eyes, he is 'off-line' and too fast, and over banks because of those two things.

If the engine seized as well, well, it was just in the right place to spoil his day.

I hope he was just 'winded'.

  • For sure engine seizure. Typical of 2 stroke just after downchange probably from 5th - 4th on trailing throttle initially mid corner then start to open throttle again but oil a bit lean at high revs and fuel/oil mixture leans out a touch. Bang, the piston skirt nips up on the cylinder and maybe the ring lands as well. Rings get welded in at bottom of grooves and loose compression. No compression, no drive, may weld itself to cylinder. Instant rear wheel lock-up. All happens in about 1/2 second.

  • @nomedeeps It sounds like a 4 stroke to me.

  • @archernewb Nah its too tinny to be a 4 stroke, the first bike with the on-board footage may have been a 4 stroke, but the bike that crashed was a 2 stroke. Cheers :)

  • That was an engine seizure!

  • BELLO PIHL COME SEMPRE!!!

  • ma iniziano sempre con quello..
