I completely agree with you, eflint1. Blue had proved himself more times than any son should have to. I sometimes wonder if the character of Blue proved too frustrating after a while for Mark Slade, and maybe that's what prompted his leaving the show, and then no explanation in the fourth series....as if Blue barely existed!
@ThymeBottle Its a Hollywood myth :) There is no reason why those pistols should have failed to fire after two minutes in a fresh water river ....maybe one or two mis fires but bullets are kinda designed not to let the powder fall out of them so....the only reason you dont go swimming with your guns is its best to clean and oil them if they do get wet,and thats a pain in the proverbial :) But who cares? Its High Chaperral, even after 20 odd years I remembered it was a white Bull they got :)
@ThymeBottle No problems friend, its just one of those useless bits of info I picked up somewhere and now I get a bit nerdy when films and TV get it wrong :)
One of my favorite episodes!

Oops! Shouldn't they have removed their guns before jumping in the river? Wouldn't that damage them?

@ThymeBottle -- OOPS is right! I doubt that they were water pistols!

This was a great show, but they kinda overdid this thing of Blue always having to prove his manhood to his Pa.
