The other day, I got locked out even from the ADMIN account and thought of smashing it in front of Apple Store in Tokyo if I couldn't fix it.

I couldn't boot from the external DVD to re-install no matter what. But I found a way to directly boot from the external drive bypassing the internal HDD.

Press "C" when machine boots up.

@ExplodingFistInVag have you ever set up a server? cause they do have a GUI, but once you have set it up you turn it off, or in case of linux you turn it off right away and administer it via SSH, by booting into runlevel3 instead of 5. well, mac servers are just more easy to use than linux ones, but linux ones are more powerful.

@detrolleur Linux, Unix, FreeBSD (which OSX is built on) servers run 90%+ of the Internet. No administrator that shouldn't be fired for incompetence would install GUI (X-Windows) on a server. Windows also makes for terrible Internet servers, yes.

@steveoyugi I tried making one for the unboxing of this machine. Could bother making one for this video since I made it using iMovie, which was a BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIG mistake. Subtitles were extremely hard to input using iMovie '07.

@ITGuru0111 Nope. No need for a air conditioned room. It's same as the other core2 duo mac mini. But you don't want to block the underneath since that's where the vent's located. If I were you, I would go for the newer machine.

I had this machine sitting on top of dictionary and other paper work on my desk and had no problem hardware-wise.

Thank you. But FYI, I wouldn't buy this machine.

It's not the hardware, it's the OS-X Snow Leopard Server.

I'm using this as a DNS and web server, along with attaching it with another USB dongle NIC for dual home gateway system hosting 19 domains.

My less powerful Linux Slackware machine is much faster and much easier to use.

There are too many unknown black box item and doesn't explain it in OS-X Server Essentials v10.6 or Deployment v10.6.

I created this video using iMovie '09 and it was a BIG mistake.

It's a hell trying to re-edit this after a while.

I've given up putting English subtile on it.

It's probably easier if I re-make this video in English again but it won't be "first light" anymore.

on the right-hand corner there is the button that enables or disables subtitles, in this case they are in italian but i guess you can write anything.
