Actually, that's false. In reality, the constitution is a piece of paper and isn't in any sense "living." Its authors provided for a method of *amending* it (not simply re-interpreting it). If Ron Paul were around before Lincoln, he wouldn't have favored slavery; he would have favored *amending the constitution* to make slavery illegal (since slavery violates his fundamental philosophical principle of individual liberty).

You find me the phrase in the Constitution that specifically states that slavery is ok, learn your Constitution before you go quoting it, it provides for laws regulating slavery, but never addresses the actual issue, leaving it to be resolved at a later date.
