  • What year was this video made? I'd like to know...PLEASE... Thank you so much for posting.

  • Yeah, I agree with click2rank.

  • read "the failure of the liuna internal reform" to learn about unions

  • before the unions you would be fired for smiling on the job or talking to a co worker at the ford motor co.

  • @bucko60 its all about you huh? suck ass

  • @BigBishop1 it is all about me, lazy ass. you probably think jobs get shipped overseas because of "the greedy CEO's" too. don't you, you lazy dickhead? unions are just another corporate business.

  • The problem now days is that most of us have it good enough that we don't recognize what unions actually did for us all. Weekends off, paid holidays, paid vacation, protection from unsafe working conditions, seniority, overtime calculation, defined labor agreements, etc. etc...... Do we have to go backwords to move ahead? I for one hope not! Brush up on your labor history or be doomed to repeat it.

  • Pyscame hit the nail on the head.

  • If you make double minimum wage I doubt you are being taken advantage of? I'd like to see us build another hoover damn?! We can't becuase of unions! Yes there should be labor laws, however unionizition has screwed this country so hard!

  • America is a union....if your anti Union then your anti American. This is a fact.

  • The trade unions which are run by corporations which are run by fiat debt are the big losers here in America. "Small buisness" cannot compete with labor rackets. It's that simple. Trade union workers remain working class, corporations can do no wrong (democratic state support), fiat debt suddenly has a reason to exsist through debt. It's an ugly structure within a country that doesn't want it.

  • The problem is that from the 1940's onwards, there have been increased Labour-management and increased labour-government relations. It was probably the Wagner Act of 32 which kicked it off by putting the government as the federal authority in charge. With increased relations there was no need for Union representation, and its only now, that workers are realising whats happened.

  • most of you anti-union do not know the history of the labor movement, the reason why we have weekends off, holidays, 40 hours a week and 8 hours shifts is because union activists fought and died in the 20's 30's and 40's for all of us union or non-union workers could enjoy all these and many other benefits you bunch of ignorant bastards

  • @oscaremilio1 Every body needs to listen to this mans words of wisdom! The union Brothers have made a huge difference & people seem to forget that. Most of the time without a Union you have no voice in the work place.

  • @oscaremilio1

    You fucking tell em.

The struggle has been horrific at times and I'll be damned if I let some dumb motherfuckers who thinks the answer is to do away with all regulations all government and then everything will just be peachy cause they read Ayn Rand have their way with this country that was'nt built on their backs anyway.

  • herbs814 is the textbook example of someone believing what they are told. poor gullible sap.

  • Its the non union workers that talk shit because they really don't know any better. They need to learn a little and they wouldn't feel that way. The Union way is the American way... There is nothing wrong with joining hands with your brothers and sisters and fighting together. Strong by numbers. A loud machine with a loud voice that stand up for workers. Why is that so bad?

  • @that24car

Union workers are pathetic slaves. Independent workers (not subjected to union TYRANNY) are much stronger for not being subjected to unions' left-wing socialist lunacy and hatred towards their employers.

  • @herbs814 fuck off

  • @justpostit

Unions are SPOILED BRATS. Unions cripple our economy and corrupt our government. Unions must be held accountable for their evil reign of terror.

  • @herbs814

    -"Unions are SPOILED BRATS."-

I'm sure that exploitative employers and sweatshop owners are innocent little angels.

  • @ILoveWelfare

Unions are exploitative. Employers offer opportunity.

  • They don't need to worry about labor laws, and they can buy off any gov official they need to get whatever they want. Yes unions provide a shield for lazy broke dick workers, but we are not all that way. I'm sure that all of you have a lazy piece of crap at work, union or not! So quit with your self righteous bullshit and be thankful and appreciative of others sacrifices!!!

  • As a proud union member i will admit that the unions have their problems, however they also serve a great purpose. It is because of unions that so many of you enjoy good benefits and decent wages. Without the sacrifice of those before us we would still be dealing with child labor, long work days with no overtime pay, and low wages. Why do you think big corporations outsource industrial jobs? It's cheaper, less liability, no gov. meddling,

  • @IBEWLOCAL2295

Proud to be free from the tyrannical union thugs. It is because of CAPITALISM that we have high wages and benefits. Unions are worse with worthless. We would be far better off without union thugs.

  • herbs 814 must be faux news viewer - can't discern reality from opinion

  • @popster357

Fox News is THE MOST TRUSTED NEWS of all. You are the one who is out of touch. Public Policy Polling and Savred Heart University polls both confirm that Fox is THE MOST TRUSTED.

Clearly, Fox is doing the best job at discerning reality and present true objective journalism.

  • To herbs 814: What examples of "Union Thugs" can you give who are violating the rights of employees. I can give you millions of examples of companies who violate the civil and human rights of workers every day. Unions are people who have organized to make sure their best interest as workers are protected. Employers also belong to unions, examples: Chamber of Commerce, National Manufactures Association, Home Builders Association, Associated Builder & Contractors, to name but a few!

  • It is absolutely amazing that union apologists tried to use the "accomplishments" of past unions to justify the extortion, intimidation, violence, fraud, and denial of employees' rights that is part and parcel of union "organizing". These union slaves have actually convinced themselves that the ends justify the means. This is blatant Stockholm Syndrome, where the oppressed (employees) start to identify with the oppressors (unions).

  • I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you're from the south or somewhere else that has an anti-union mentality. And I'll even grant you that such a mentality may be based on real history dealing with corrupt scumbags who claim to be union reps. But I promise that when speaking of REAL labor unions, your comments are completely false! The problem is that you can't look to outsiders to come in and grant you a union. It's up to the WORKERS to unionize themselves to get what they want.

  • unfortunately no. I come from Pennsylvania, where I've had to endure the tyranny of a union organizer telling me that I had to join the union and pay dues or lose my job. Unions are coercive thugs who violate the rights of employees. Unions are more of a threat to freedom and prosperity than employers.

  • Well, though you're not from the south you're a victim of exactly what I mentioned. - and it's a huge problem with "unions" nowadays. The upper levels are acting as corporations and you're right in that they can be even worse than the employers. But that's NOT a union. That's a lazy membership NOT taking action and doing what they're supposed to! And therefor it doesn't qualify as a union. If a baseball team takes the field and starts playing football can they still be called a baseball team?

  • I reckon they call you herbs814 because you have been smoking to much herbs. You want to know about intimidation, and violence, then research, Ludlow MAssacre, The memorial day massacre, Lattimer, Matewan, Everett, Thibeaduex, and Bogalusa. Or the free speech fights. Every freedom we enjoy dictated by the Bill of Rights and the US constitution has been reaffirmed over and over by union members.

  • Unions are thugs who violate the rights of employees and employers. Unions are threats against Americans' rights. Unions must be held accountable for their many evil acts committed against employees and employers. None of these historical events justify the EVIL nature of today's unions.

  • @herbs814 notice at 01:30 that it is the company thugs using violence and intimidation against the workers.

    waddadik

  • Notice that it is unions that use violence against workers today. UNIONS ARE EVIL THUGS that MUST be investigated and prosecuted.

  • @herbs814

Your a dumbass. Get a life

  • you are right....................no difference.

  • The only difference between these workers from 30 years ago and todays is that the clothes are from different eras. My job was outsourced to Mexico. My state fought to end the institution of slavery, but it seems that the party that once stood for a free mankind likes to see slaves exploited in thrid world cointries.

    YANKEE KNOW HOW! SOLIDARITY! DIGNITY!

  • Unions will make a comeback out of necessity, but it's partially the fault of the unions that they aren't getting bigger. There needs to be a new movement on the level of the Knights of Labor, but nobody wants to open the doors. Corporations continue pitting immigrant workers against union workers, and corruption within the unions themselves don't really help.

  • YouTube is such an awesome invention!

For humanity to mature, communication and forthrightness must continue to grow.

    Bless Steve and Chad.

    Those two were visionaries.

  • A lot of them became truck drivers, only to find the union trucking industry to go belly as well.

  • Low wages = high profits.

Globalisation is the internationalisation of exploitation. The more desperate people are, the less they will work for. Capitalism requires low standards of living for a massive part of the population. And when people start asking why they are in poverty, what are they told? Blame people of a different colour, migrants, or people on benifits. Anything to direct people away from an understanding of political economy.

  • unions live on!!! people will see when there making less them min wage
