I say that the reason Unicron hasn't made an appearance in the recent transformer movies is cause they are unable to replicate its aurora from the original movie
They could, they just aren't. But, seeing as Orson Wells isn't around to do the voice of Unicron, I don't see why we would need a new one. It would be just lack luster without him... unless they find a REALLY menacing, slow, calculating, wheezing voice to replace him.
I can't believe I'm saying this, but I hope that Michael Bay makes another Transformers movie with Unicron. Now before you start sending me hate mail about that idea would bomb...........think about it. Michael Bay can make the most simplist idea or setting big and epic. Now, I'm not saying I'm a Michael Bay fan, but if he gets at least Unicron right (talking about the look, charateristics, background story, and motive) then THAT would be worth seening.

The idea was "Borrowed" from Galactus. In fact, everything in the Transformers movie was borrowed from other movies. Compare the old movie to Star Wars IV and you can see som major parallels. There was little to no originality to the movie, but it was so good on it's own merrits that it is still my fav. Better than anything Bay did, in my humble opinion.

*shivers* This song gave me chills, coupled with footage of the darkest (and my personal favorite) Transformer in history, I have to give this AMV five stars. Even without understanding the words, the song comes across loud and clear, almost like a chant sung by prophets of doom, singing the chaos-bringers praise like cybertronian satanists.
the problem with that is that Brittany Spears hasn't done any music even close to suiting Unicron. To me, this song is pretty good when put to Unicron. That's my opinion.

Personally I preferred the animated style of the old movie/series.
Transformers as a franchise has actually changed a lot since then I think.
When it comes down to actual plot I think the original movie is more epic, Unicron was just such a cool idea and the part where Optimus gives the Matrix to Hotrod was brilliantly done.
I'll never forget the soundtrack. It may be cheesy but it seemed to fit the movie so well.
Even if the rest of transformers is pretty corny (ok, REALLY corny) Unicron instills a level of apprehension that is void from most cartoon villains. I think it has less to do with the fact that he's a planet sized robot, and more to do with the fact that he is pure, un-diluted evil, that knows no mercy, and will end all life in the universe.
@viraticwars I agree more work and passion goes into drawing thousands and thousands of slides I hope traditional animation makes a comeback. My entire history project last year delt with 2d animation and stopmotion against CG. :)

Unicron only appeared briefly in a flashback in Possession and was used as an avatar by the Vok. Strictly speaking, nothing he did had any effect on the Beast Wars so I didn't count that as a valid contribution to the story.

The Matrix is more ancient than both the All Spark and Cybertorian races, stated in the film there were only the Matrix of leadership, it isn't baised to one side like in this film etc. so they could bring in the quintersons...or Unicorns creator the monkey dougbt that though.

no, you don't have to use your imagination. NOTHING is as it should be to set up for Unicron like how it was in the G1 continuity. The Fallen was one of the very first AUTOBOTS, not the leader of the DECEPTICONS. He worked directly for UNICRON. Nothing is like that in the live action movie universe.

2. ...they don't say ANYTHING about the story of Bionicle on their packages. They give the story in the movies, comics, and books they make about the series.
3. What got people like me into anime was the ORIGINAL Dragonball, in imported Japanese tapes. That's what I grew up with.
4. Again, how the hell is Bionicle like anime? Also, what has implied that it's ending this year? They haven't even gone to the homeworld of the Great Beings.

No no no... He was made like any other Transformer, in a lab. He was made to crush the rebel Autobots who were rebelling against the Quintisons. 'Couse, Megatron or some Decepticons kicked the Quints off of the planet many centuries prior, so Megs was just kicking Autobot tailpipe for fun. GALVATRON was made by Unicron to get the Matrix. Megs was scrapped, and Unicron fixed him up with plenty of crazy and Lenard Nemoy! YEEEEE!

Unicron only appeared briefly in a flashback in Possession and was used as an avatar by the Vok. Strictly speaking, nothing he did had any effect on the Beast Wars so I didn't count that as a valid contribution to the story.
That and I just didn't have that footage...

first unicron and primus were one being the one . the one split itself in two creating unicron and primus there both demi gods (half gods) they fought for millions of years untill some how primus turned them both in to planets hopeing to keep unicron sealed away but unicron learned how to alter himself in to a robot un able to do this primus used unicrons example to create the cybertronians and primus became cybertron they can only be considerd a god if one was able to absorb the other

I agree, Unicron and that song fit wonderfully... I love the awesomeness behind Unicron... ... a respectable evil-villan Megatron that managed to kill a hero Optimous and then comes Unicron and makes Megatron his bitch in no time... not to mention how he devoured that planet. and the two Cybertonian moons... then took on Cyberton seeminly invincible...
He failed but oohhh what a glorious fail it was... I hope the people who worked on Cloverfield reintroduce him in Transformers 3
