When I worked in a restaurant I used to put lemon slices on the edge of the glass. ONLY with tea. It made it look more expensive than what it was (plain black bag tea) we sold that for like $4. I know.

The lemon makes a glass of tap water a premium water that is well worth its 2 Euro. And maybe it helps to make the chlorine taste/smell go away, that the tap water has in some areas. Maybe that's the main reason?

I agree. I never understood why they put a lemon in water. If I wanted a slice of lemon in my water, I would ask for it! The same goes for tea. They always put a slice of lemon in it. Yeah, who the hell to this idiots think they are putting crap in our waters? You know, I bet this crap started when they didn't wash a glass properly and there was a bit of lemon floating in the glass, and someone thought: "Oh, what a good idea!" When they mentioned it, the quick-thinking waiter intoned that it was there on purpose, and then everyone wanted it too. Bastards. The whole lot of them! oh, dude.. maybe lemons over there are weird, but i <3 em. lemon slices in coke are yum, yum, too! and a bit of marzipan with lemon dripped over it.. yuuuuuuuuuuuuum! on.. and yes i had some nasty crayfish once.. with a lemon.. the lemon in my case was hmm. garnish, i think... well... i friggin ate the lemon in the end, literally..... to get the nasty ass crayfish taste outa my mouth! the lemon saved my life. :)
