Freddie seemed to be the most outrageous and looked like he had the most fun at his shows in Japan and the crowd was defintely the most enthusiastic. The whole band was in top form. Wish we could go back again to 1979 and Queen was performing in concert, how great would that be?!
@MsHeidiA - I was a teenager in the 70's. It was a pretty cool time to be a teen. And a TON of GREAT music. Except for the top 40 b.s. It was Neil Sedaka, The Captain And Tenille, and other b.s. BUT, The Stones, Zep, Floyd, Seger, Queen were all in their prime!
hear those japs teengirls screaming.they are terribly mad for queen.its awesome. though in japan they only hear music from a shamisen.its awesome.what a crowd
@edmatper ... if you wikipedia'ed the word "frontman" you should see a pic of freddie.... ((actually looks on wikipedia)) bingo. guess great minds think alike.
@PrudenceNumberNine aha! I agree. Brian May's qualifications should read that and so much more. Hell, even John Deacon's should have read more than just "Bass Guitarist." Perhaps:
"Most kick-ass bass guitarist on the planet, writer of hit songs, SOUL BROTHA- John Deacon."
his look was at his best... that's freddie to me... short hair, no mustache lether trousers... but i can't say, he was nice with long hair too... oh, god, anyway brian is sexier to me x-D
@GreatQueenFan I agree that this is Freddie´s best look, I really don´t like Freddie with mustache, when i look to Freddie here he looks so sexy, i almost faint XD Brian is sexy too and Roger and john
@vixenmusique Yeah, you´re right, I dont know what came to his mind when he decided to grow that mustache ! Freddie had gorgeous lips, a gorgeous and different face and a beautiful body! XD
@TheJumpyPopcorn ......Hey, Jumpy.....here we are again! Love this!! But, unlike you, I Love Freddie's mustache! Or Clean-shaven......I don't care......I just Love Freddie!!!
First time I've ever seen this version, really punk, nice. I don't know what happen there, but there are great concerts in tokyo Beatles, Deep Purple, Queen, GNR, and many other

BTW, is the story about Freddie being afraid of the voice operation (like Elton John had years later) true? What is it, folicles on the vocal chords?
I actually was at Wembley ... best concert of my life.
But I'm still a sucker for the seventies Queen, and I can still lipsync the Live Killers album, even though I haven't listened to it for years. Brighton Rock, I'm in love with my car, Let me entertain you, Spread your wings ... man!
freddie said he didnt get the voice operation because he was afraid it would change the tone of his voice. thats actually also why he never had his teeth fixed as well. i'm so jealous you got to see them at wembley! i wouldn't be born even until two years later!
Singing every night or at least often is hard on the larynx. I love it though when Freddie's voice breaks. I think it's cute. Oh hell he's as perfect as he can be with out being The God.
Freddie is coming off a long U.S tour and their longest ever European tour, and this is also their 6th show in 7th nights, so Freddie's voice isn't great. I absolutely love it and know that freddie done much better in many other concerts. Sounds like his throat wasn't ok for this concert.. Doesn't sound like freedie in killer queen and bicycle race!
your rite some times freddie didn't sing good live but some other times he did very good performances with high notes like in montreal 1981 that was a very good performance!!!
I would agree with you mostly with the exception of the fact that Brian May can sing many of the songs a little different then Freddy but all in all he can still sing a damn sight better then any of the replacements they got.
Really I respect Brian May very much as songwriter and guitar and pianoplayer, but I wouldn't compare his singing skills with Freddy. I do agree he's a better replacement than others who tried to replace Freddy
Yeah, I know what your saying, I wasn't trying to say that May could compare with Mercury as far as vocals are conserned, but rather I am comparing him with all of the other people that took a crap on some good queen songs. Paul Rogers is a good singer but I don't think he is right for queen. I would just prefer that Taylor and May pull Deacon out of retirment and tour agian, maybe occasionally getting Elton John to sing but that's about it
I understand you, but I really think they better not perform as Queen anymore, because they will never reach the level they used to do in the days they were all four of them. It's a pity but it won't return, but we can always enjoy all the great music they have made.
You see, I think they just want to play again as it's their passion, just that. They are not interested in great sucess, as they are old and know the golden years will never come again. It's impossible to replace such an unique person as Freddie.
I think, also, it's fair the use of "Queen + Rodgers" name because there's two original members in. When Brian started with his own band he named it as "Brian May Band", not "Queen plus ....".
I wish deacon would rejoin. he's one of my favorite bassists but roger taylor has spoken about deaky's leaving the band. john just doesnt want to be part of the music business anymore.

If you see this you wonder why the remaining members of Queen had to continue with another singer! They can never be as good as they were with Freddy

It's a pity but it won't return, but we can always enjoy all the great music they have made.
hendrikhaverkamp 3 years ago
You see, I think they just want to play again as it's their passion, just that. They are not interested in great sucess, as they are old and know the golden years will never come again. It's impossible to replace such an unique person as Freddie.
I think, also, it's fair the use of "Queen + Rodgers" name because there's two original members in. When Brian started with his own band he named it as "Brian May Band", not "Queen plus ....".
Understand and suport their attitude.

I wish deacon would rejoin. he's one of my favorite bassists but roger taylor has spoken about deaky's leaving the band. john just doesnt want to be part of the music business anymore.
