  • 14 seconds into the video I knew he was a Canadian.

  • As always in comments about projects where electricity is not comming from a generator or from the grid: Check the amperage. I guess it is low...

  • hi nice, looks good especially non solar ones, circuit! have you got your schemtics available please

    thanks

    steve

  • what's output on this thing?

  • CAN I touch it???? :)

  • @xxsalsaxx1

You can but will hurt as fuck / kill you.

  • @Janigut Amperes is what you should be real afraid of, The current is the dangerous part. But being safe att all times is always a good practice though.

  • @Janigut

30kV @ 16VA = 0.53mA and that will in no way kill you. You probably won't even be able to feel it. I have touched arcs with a lot more power (see my videos).

  • look mom i made me a solar powered taser gun, lets just hope that there are no bad guys out at night time : )

  • lick it!!!

  • is that lightning lethal

  • The taser gun of tomorrow ;)

  • how bad would it hurt to get shocked by that

  • how much money did it take to make this?

  • where on earth did you get mineral oil? please tell me! i really need it for my stuff!

  • "hey jim come put your tongue on this and tell me if it works"

  • how to biuld 5000V square wave amplifier?(1-100KHz)

Is 1100V square wave 1100V when delivered to flyback=5000V(secondary) going to be more clean than 20V Square delivered to flyback+5000V secondary?

Or any other way to build this circuit (e.g. voltage dubbler/ multipier)

  • I want to zap sum tittys now.

  • Is there any way to make dc voltage go to ac? I am trying to make a car type inverter. It works great on 12vac but not 12vdc.

  • WHY AREN'T TRANSFORMERS USED MORE?!?!?!?!?

  • @pyrosparkerII a flyback is a transformer.

  • @a380rockerfan i knew that! lol

  • yoshieggz can you send me your pcb schmatic along with a parts list to my email please regards impressive display ps my email is iadoremylynny@live.com.au

  • A normal high voltage transformer (out of a TV or monitor) would work better at 15-35KHz

  • What would work great in my far feild as a electric fence supply.

At the minute I have a standard car battery driven electric fence transformer what is always overheating this would eliminate that problem.

Might have to try building one of these.

  • i need to apply that to my yzf600 motorcycle cause my spark is bout one pop every10 tyms i try and start it, now all of a sudden no spark im lost one that one...any suggestions thankz....junior...

  • @thatcutndude1 These guys are electronics geeks, chief. Not motorcycle mechanics. Go find some motorcycle videos to ask about your bike on, genius.

  • Impressive.

  • Cool. That;s how you could execute prisoners. Anode in the ass, cathode under the tongue and at the break of dawn sends the sucker to join Saddam in hell!!!

  • what is that? Looks kinda pointless.

  • Wth iz the point of this lol ..

  • You said you put your capacitors in series, How many microfarads can you gain from that set up?

  • This concept has the power of a exciter box. Im trying to build one to convert D.C. 420V and put out 12,000 v pulsating

  • the first bang scared the shit out of me with 2 1 watt speakers set to highest setting lmao

  • cool but useless for my purposes

  • its just that i dont need a solar pannel its kind of hard to run a tesla coil at NIGHT with a solar panal thats all im saying its a great supply just not what im looking for you trolls!

  • lol when the electric arc forms spray deo on it.

  • Talk about lightning from a blue sky :-D

  • You stole my idea. PV DC-DC !! I have been designing my own circuit with power IGBT's and MOSFET's for a pre amp. It's a capacitor bank for parrallel to series high discharge preamp. This feeds the ignition. solar panels have limited short circuit current though, limiting the frequency. But PV is the way to go!! Good thinking

  • dude, thats sick! Im studing to be an electrical and computer engineer. you should totaly make a tutorial vid!

  • Can this be used for a Tesla coil? I'm having hard luck finding HV Neon transformers... :( And I don't wanna disassemble my microwave!

  • Thanks so much! I've really been struggling trying to figure out a way to zap my screwdrivers. This oughta do it! Thanks, McGyver!

  • No, who told you that?

  • I wonder if they used this in Gitmo somehow...???

  • Where could I have more information about this project

  • Yes, I would also like more information on how to build this DC power supply. Maybe a blue print or instructions. I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks

  • Where could I have more information about this project?

  • Yeah dude, one step left to solar povered Tesla coil. Just be careful, dc is more dangerous than typical flyback HF.

  • como lo hicistes

  • solar powered awesome!

  • How much does the whole kit weigh? and do you know how many amps it can pump out on the High voltage side?

  • can i get you to make me one?

  • Fantastic!

  • pimp good project.

  • that was massive, isnt that dangerous? does dc have the same risk of shock that ac does?

  • DC is more dangerous !

  • Man you are close to powering a water spakplug from the sun , that must be close to the holy grail.

Great work - any plans available or maybe a write up ?

  • Does that computer in the background still work??After being bombarded with huge ammounts of emf from that unit!!

  • I was thinking that myself.... The KB on my old PC used to go nuts when ever the CRT got switched on... It was one of those old ass monster 22" screens that would make a pop noise when ever it got turned on or off with the rocker switch on the bottom...

  • sweet!

  • how cost all project?

  • I would like to build one of these. Can you do a more detailed discription of how to build it ( part list and values ). I want to use it to try to make hydrogen and oxygen from water with high Voltage low amp.

  • just take a flyback out of a tv put some salt water in a bowl cover it then stick two leads intot he bowl and let sit

  • To electrolyze water you need enough

current. Flybacks aren't good for this

purpose. 12V is plenty to produce hydrogen.

Check out daddyo44907's videos. If you still

want to build a flyback driver though, there

is one on my site, whenever it decides to come back up.

  • That spark might be sufficient to split the hydrogen and oxygen molecules bond in H2o. Thus burning the hydrogen. Giver a test run and let me know how that works out.

    Portable unit too. Nice.

    peace :)

  • yea, i have the same idea,

  • now tell me, how do you figure 30kv? My 15kv NST arcs just as far. But still very impressive, especially off of solar energy.

  • throw some water into the arc

  • talk about fucking tazer guns

  • Where did you get those high-voltage capacitors? They must be able to withstand 30kVDC+ right?

  • Where did you get those high-voltage capacitors? They must be able to withstand 30kVDC+ right?

  • i love the pop sound

  • Yoshi, there is a way to focus an array of mirrors focused on a single point. It's like a satellite dish. low level light can be focussed on your cell or your hot water generator. control is essential.

  • have you ever had an X-ray

Or a CAT scan Or an MRI? or might you perhaps have some of this circuitry in your car? or the CRT you are looking at. How about the circuit that restarts your heart. Or maybe your microwave oven. I wonder what practical applications this has. Hmmm electric cars maybe. Those who live in wood houses shouldn't throw trees. Sorry Yoshi, I have no tolerance for some things ... Cool vid though

  • Oh sweet, That is awesome

  • so what exactly is the point of this? Does this have a real world application to make your life more green?

  • Yes and no.. It was part of a experiment to store high voltage instead of low voltage / high current. We are in the process of building a 80Kv H-bridge that will convert the high voltage cap banks into usable power. Look up DC transmission for more info. Why high voltage? Low inductance buck-boost system can squeeze power from the sun even if power (V*I) is < battery float level. Another words.. we get usable power in cloudy conditions!

  • That sir, OWNZ!!! So what could you power with a solar panel hooked to it? A Mig welder... a compressor? A house?

  • probably nothing because he is losing almost all the amps when making this.

  • But the doorknob capacitors can make it deadly.

  • @yoshieggz Thanks for explaining it, im not that indepth into this stuff just thought it was neat.

Kinda terrible when someone has a legitimit question about something, then someone who you don't know comes around being a complete jerk about things calling you vulgar names just for being interested in something.. It really shows some peoples true colors about how they still want to live in a hurtful world instead of teaching each other to help humanity grow.

  • Lol youre building an 80kv h-bridge to create sparks and have fun, and im building an 80 amp h-bridge to power my rc and have fun.

  • @yoshieggz That sounds like a noble goal, but there are simpler ways to get PV power on cloudy days.

The common Polycrystalline (Multicrystalline) panels that I've used don't really need a "buck-boost system", since their no-load (or light-load) voltage is still high when it's cloudy. They just can't put out a lot of watts.

But, if you only take power when the voltage is at the panel's sweet spot.

It works great. Like on MPPT units.

    Cheers,

    Rich

Google "Build this simple Mini Maximiser"

  • @yoshieggz oh pwned montauk198 what now!!

  • Monty do you watch tv?

  • @Montauk198 no offence but, TREE HUGGER!!!!!!!!

  • @ubuntupokemoninc Yeah, 2yrs too late. Also, What if I don't like giving my money away to corporations that markup something they are getting from nature themselves? not necesarily a tree hugger just a realist.

  • @Montauk198 well i'm not saying waster i'm against wasting but this is spitting a river, its draws like 300ma that's like no power

  • @Montauk198 fag

  • @Montauk198 Theres alot you can do with high voltage you can't do with low voltage.

    Google High voltage dc applications.

  • @Montauk198 Be quiet fool.

  • yoshieggz,

I want to be sure if I understood you correctly. Is it 30kV DC output and not AC?

  • ye its ac is a diode in it beacus it is out of a tv and they need spereted pols means one oute put for + and one for -^^

  • 1. Horray for Apple (Macs specifically)

    2. So if I understand correctly, it's kinda like a tesla coil without the coils (but DC, not AC into a cap bank, discharges like a spark gap

  • last part was using line voltage duh

  • can it explode water mist?

  • omg so cool with the thin wire,

    definatly a home project.

  • hey i am really interested and amajed by this .i want to know for how many hours it can be stored

  • IMPRESSIVE!

  • dare you to put your tongue on that!!!!!

  • haha yeah !! lol

  • put that on the toung, that gets you up in the mornings

  • Solar powered electric fence!

  • owsom

  • Solar powered stun gun. Cool!

  • yea i was gonna say, sounds like a kickass stun gun.

  • Beautiful

  • haha lol nice high powered taser.

  • That's amazing. Is it resonance like a Tesla Coil that's inducing the higher voltage?

  • You put a lot of trust into your system's ground insulation. That screwdriver might not allways isolate from that kind of voltage.

  • how do you people think of this stuff? It sounds and looks creative, but dangerous.

  • no amp, no juice.

  • and that would make a fuck of a tesla coil

  • it would kill you alright...the caps are puting out probably a few 10s or hundreds of amps

  • If you touched it would hurt but not kill, flybacks put out high voltage at very low amps.

  • i would like to see some one dumb enough to touch that while its shocking

  • well it would hurt but i think that there is no amps so it wont kill u

  • awsome

  • um, why dont you use that technology to split water into H H O and run your car with it? practical application.

  • good idea

  • all you need is a high voltage police taser, probably cheaper than this set up.

  • Awesome!!

  • Similar to a car ignition system

  • hey its ryan91919. man you make a lot of stuff! i especially liked that green laser you have. keep up the good work! and ill be making videos as soon as i can
