love the pats ... but they need to release him ... he isnt good at all anymore .... he just stinks and honestly ... tom brady runs for more TD's then him ...
I think Kevin Faulk is a solid back, definitely not an elite back, but a good one. He does shine on 3rd down more than anything, I remember his key third down conversion in the Super Bowl vs the Panthers that won the game for the Patriots.
Just realized...Three years ago when Faulk averaged a whopping 6.1 YPC he did it on 83 carries which is more than I thought he had. Now that is efficiency!
I hope that Fauk comes back for another year even though he's 35 which is old for a RB. I think he could tutor the younger RBs and maybe find a place in coaching with the Pats in the near future, he's a great Patriot and player.
Faulk & Woody r similar players really. Both have avged in the mid 5s YPC recently in the 3rd down RB role & are amazingly quick RBs w/ good hands who are class acts. Woody did it on almost 100 carries last yr. which was a little more than KF was getting the last few years. All the Pats other RBs other than BJGE r getting old or were knicked up. Both Faulk & Woody have similar shiftiness, Woody is a little faster w/ more burst, Faulk runs a little stronger, may have better instincts & hands.
@toonsis: Why? I know he's 35 and coming off an ACL tear, but this guy is still talented enough to come back and provide depth at RB this year IMO. I'd rather see Fred Taylor and Sammy Morris retire to make room for all the young talent. BB will find room for Faulk if he wants to return for another year.
cant agree with you guys that we need him but i grew up with this guy in the backfield and he was the perfect patriot. with woodhead he pretty much took faulks role away but faulk is one of those patriots who bellicheck will say. if you still want to play we will find a role for u... i think i might cry when he retires
I love this guy. I wish he did more this past year. I'm hoping they let him play a little bit in the Super Bowl give him at least one catch or carry.
