Hi John, brilliant playing. I've watched the RC50 demos many times. A question I have is are any of your phrases "pre-recorded" or stored or are they all created on the fly? Also, have you tried the new Boomerang II pedal. It looks like you can go through several phrases instead of just stacking tracks, but I dont think it has any memory or storage function. Do you use the memory of the RC50 much or do most of your phrases live? I'm having a hard time deciding between the two pedals.
i love watching what people do with this pedal...its great to see people being so creative and coming up with pieces that are just utter genious!! well done :)
Here is Cristian, a young italian guitarist! I've found by chance this video: this is truly inspiring! My compliments! I wonder if is somewhere available a sound track of this fantastic music!

@crybluesguitar Yes, it's this music is available from my web site johngilliat(dot)com. Nice to hear you liked it. The song is called Nachos from the cd Freedom. You can download the cd for free at the website
Hi John, first of all thanks for posting this video. You guitar just sounds awesome. What amp or effects do you use? A bit of reverb I can hear and maybe extra bass? That's cool brother, keep it coming. Cheers from Australia.
Thanks for a great performance and inspired use of the RC 50. I just purchased one of these units. Could you please tell me your basic settings? Is it Multi, Loop synch, loop quantize, auto record? thanks again
Love your song! How are you getting phrase 1 & 2 playing at the same time after you record the scratch beat on 1? I know you've got the guide track going but I can't replicate this.
@grey88full I'm never playing 2 phrases at the same time. I'm just jumping from one phrase to the next, either recording or creating an overdub once the phrase has played one loop.
@jgilliat After your first scratch beat that's one measure long you start playing phrase 2 but the scratch beat continues. Am I missing something? I will rewatch again to see if I can figure this out. Love what you did with this!
@grey88full as phrase 2 plays I'm playing the scratch live until the phrase 2 loop ends. Then I'm playing and overdubbing the guitar chord rhythm on phrase 2 (there is no scratch guitar on phrase 2). I hope that helps
I had a question, though ... for example, if you have phrases one and two going at the same time, how to do stop them and start phrase three simultaneously? Is there any way to do it? So far I've just been turning the volume knobs down for the first two and turning the third one up, but there's gotta be a better way. help.
Wow, some of the most extensive use of the RC-50's many features I've seen. Not to mention the incredible guitar skills. Kudos man. I've got a couple vids up of my performances, one with my old RC-20 and one with my new 50. Check them out if you get a chance. Excellent video/performance.
Whoa. Serendipity how I love thee. Here I was looking for RC-50 videos as I'm very interested in acquiring one and behold, I've found a guitarist in the style of one of my favourites - Jesse Cook.
I'm definitely going to be checking out your stuff. I think it will take me quite some while to command an RC-50 the way you do even were my playing up to standard but nevertheless I am going to try.
What an excellent piece of music from the rich understanding of tone and the quality of the inspirational playing, and a thorough grasp of the technology....just fantastic!!! You can rest assured that it gave me a great deal of pleasure and so well done...Many many thanks Mike
Thanks for the great demonstration and for the even better music. How much do you think you paid for the entire set of pedals and the bose system? Im in college right now and I dont want to spend any money unless the equipment is exemplary and well worth the cash. Thanks once again and great video!
RC50 $550, EQ Pedal $80, Volume Pedal MGear EXP $50 (I think), T1 Bose Mixer $500, AKG C535 EB Mic $300, Mic stand & cables $100, Guitar $2500, In Ear monitors from Live Wires $300. All in Canadian funds
@jgilliat I see you have a Boss fs-6 dual footswitch in your rig... For the life of me I can't figure out what you are doing with it, and maybe I missed it, but I don't recall any text describing it. What is it for? I used to use one on my Rc-20xl, but I can't think of any applications for a boss Rc-50 given it has multiple phrase pedals. What is it for? Very intricate and beautiful piece of music by the way, I really enjoyed your performance.
why arent you famous?
