  • üzerine müzik tanımam.

  • i listen to this like once a week! timeless, so many good memories dude!! feckin love it ;-)

  • Wouldn't it be good if eleven people who disliked this song could be vanquished?

  • Each era have its own set of probem and the 1980's is no exemption to it.

  • 61 people and the person who wrote the top comment don't know how to construct a sentence.

  • I've been on a bit of a Nik Kershaw thing lately and I'm pleased to have found this extended version. Thanks for posting it!

  • I've never heard this long version before, way cool. Thanks for posting it.

  • this song gives me goose bumps! i love it!

  • thanks man

  • Thank you for this.

  • 1983 ! I remember this shit when I was a kid hell yeah!

  • An epic 80's tune! Guitar riffs that make u shiver - nice! Will always remember the good old days...

  • I'm a cool guy from the 80's, from head to toe, never thought i would grow old, thought the party & fun will last forever, well i was wrong, still look damn good though but one thing is for sure, they were and will be the best )))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

  • I always thought that Nik had a very Amercian look for the time even though I knew he was a Brit.

  • Excellent 80's tune - top pop tunes came from the 80's! We need another Brit-pop music invasion.

  • Now Accepting Donations to Build a Time Machine to Go back to The 80's.

  • @perpetual61 Can I book a one way ticket 1st class please? Thanks

  • miss the 80's

  • Les années 80 s'étaient toute ma jeunesse à l'époque,et rien aujourd'hui pourra remplacer la pop de ces années là.

J'ai gardé tous mes 45 tours et mes maxi vinyles!

  • GRACIAS HERMANO HUGO RIOS POR ENSEÑARME ESTA CANCION UNA ROOOOOLOTA

  • Where does Nik Kershaw come from? I love his voice :o)

  • @yomie100 He's a Brit but he always gave off this American vibe.

  • "I got it bad...you don't know how bad I got it"

  • There are so many vibrant and winsom memories awakend by hearing this song. The 80's were a magical moment in time and like all good times, they ended, but...

like all fine and real things, they will live on according to their own inherent qualitys.

In 100 years the music will still move peple. Peace

  • great great sooooooooooooooooooooooooong............salud tequila and womens ajua Mexico

  • Good point, bigrig, most pop/rock stuff now has a negative feel to it and it's not very memorable, it's like kids just want something to dance - and drink - to. Making your own fun on the dancefloor seems more important, doesn't matter what it is really, once the music actually had to be a good melody not just a beat...

  • i agree eventhough i was born in 84 id rather listen to this than the crap kids listen to today i find today's music boraing and not verry uplifting

  • Wouldn't it be good if 80's come back?

  • It would be VERY good

  • That would be a refreshing great experience. Still I can smell that air ahhh.

    Five fire ball stars******

    True talent Inc.

P.S. Nik Kershaw is one of a kind person. No comparisons allowed in any sense.

The word "Sincerity" has to appear here. Thanks!

  • @Spheal4 No.

Idiots like Kesha and Hurt are trying, but it ends up being totally gay and desperate. People should leave the 80s as it is. Perfect.

  • @Spheal4 They certainly seemed much simpler than living now in 2011.

  • @Spheal4 Yeah just leave out Thatcher, the drug usage/wars, the crack deal-o-mania, Reagan, and AIDS! LOL But I loved it all too so I see what you mean, honest! LOL

  • @Spheal4 Oh absolutely. Things were so much simpler then than now, and the music was great. Oh to have a time machine :)

  • @lumabi25 They didn't seem very simple back then. For example, most people of my generation expected WW3 to eventually happen and wipe out the human race.

So be glad yer here at all, yo.

  • @Spheal4 yes indeed , today music is only remixing and sampling old music. people are to lazy to make new music. i live the 60'70'80'oo man i love the music. i wish young kids would like this music

  • @Spheal4 yes yes yes!! what a decade so much inspirational artists and new music technology. No money making constructed Simon Cowell bands that all do the same, look the same and sound the same....diversity and big hair 80s rock

  • A classic!!!

  • I'd love to see this song on the video game, Band Hero.

  • Sad that they had another artist record this for the "Pretty in Pink" soundtrack, ESPECIALLY after he had such a great performance at Live Aid.

  • one of the best 12inchs of all time me thinks what a song!"

  • Oh how I miss da '80s. Such a colorfull time in my life.

  • @kcdesert05 I agree 100%.

  • nik kershaw 80s legend

  • WOW the beginning is sooooooooooo SMOOOTH....i´m sick of fighting ^^

  • Twenty years had gone by without listening to this untill I heard it on the radio a few months ago at 4 in the morning but still could'nt remember the title. Went on to youtube and found this! Brings me back twenty odd years. One of the best songs ever written with "Drive" from The Cars in my opinion.

  • ha ha just what i was thining brill 12inch and cars is one hell of ballad x

  • Please listen to his albums 15 MINUTES & To Be Frank....especially tracks Your Brave Face & Somebody Loves You. Oh and , really ALL OF THEM!!

  • "I got it bad, you got it it easy , its getting harder, i'm sick of fighting" I think this is every exhausted married person singing this song.

  • AWESOME!!! This is still my favorite song to this DAY!! Thanks for posting =)

  • This is my FAVORITE song too, I like the melody and lyrics, so true!

    Excellent work.

  • "I got it bad... You don't know how bad I've got it; You've got it easy, you don't know good when you've got it... " Classic Kershaw.

  • Yeah he seems to battle the subject of covetousness and envy a lot in his songs. So much food for thought. so much respect for this man. Great songs deceptively complex. In some ways I think it's criminal he's not more rated considering how overrated some of his contemporaries are/were. Yet it shouldn't matter, plenty of people still appreciate him. It doesn't stop him touring and he's not clinging to fame for dear life by going on 'I'm a celebrity..' or some other Reality TV tragedy...

  • Add lyrics in the info column. Please.

  • Great song out when i was a kid, happy times

  • I challenge any current pop/rock act to write a piece of music, like the famous horn/synth solo here - it's not going to happen. Composing melodies is not what it used to be, it's all downbeat monotonous/repetitive tones now.

  • I agree totally. This is an original and one of a kind track.

  • & the lyrics, too. today's are nothing but sex. the 80's actually had something to SAY.

  • @komodoman That or gangsta rap. Worthless, soulless crap. But this... This is what music should sound like.

  • I much prefer the 12" extended version....

  • I am off to see Nick Kershaw live tomorrow at a 80's revival concert in the UK! I can't wait. The 80's were the best times.

  • One of the very best pop songs to come out of the 1980's. I loved it as much back then as I do now. Thanks for sharing this. Five plus stars!

  • piekna piosenka wersja placebo tez fajna

  • I woke up with this song in my head the other morning... and I have no idea why.. I had forgotten it until now... but wow what a great song.

  • Where the hell did good music go? I miss stuff like this. I miss my childhood.

  • Takes me back.... to when I was listening to this last week.

  • no better then thriller!

  • Still LOVE this song:D

  • I notice alot of young people are responding on this video, about how crappy music is now a days, I can't believe it's gotten this bad with the younger generation. I'm glad I grew up in the 80's I wouldn't trade it for the world. Mostly every theater was a drive in back then, it was a great time to be a kid. I'm just glad I don't have to be a kid now days, Thank God !

  • classic song!!!...you're so right about that lack of taste...i love old music and i so much hate today's craps! and i'm only 20.

  • i'm only 14 and i have the same situation as you.

  • what film/TV program is this off?!? i heared it in work a few days ago and its driving me mad trying to work it out!!! great song though!

  • I herd it somewhere too, and Also trying to figure out where..

  • super lied una bella canzone so lieder braucht das land ciao a tutte le fige!!!

  • I saw it on the BBC's television show "Extra's" not too long ago.

  • just love this 12inch version and the song itself so much.Love the lyrics always hits the heart .xx

  • This would have to be one of the best songs ever written.I never get tired of hearing this.

  • me encanta desperto recuerdos

  • This song has the coolest guitar parts.

  • 3.20 to 3.59 what a great bit of music

  • I am madly in love with the 80's and i am only 17 lol... i love this song :) xxxx Woo go nik kershaw xxxx

  • Good fer you !! So many teens nowadays have no taste...the 80's was a classic decade fer hits like this...

Nice to see it hasnt been forgotten lols !!!!!!!

  • awesome

  • Waldo's People stole this song, and made the song of ESC 2009 of Finland "lose control"

    LOOK AT MY CHANNEL

  • This song is GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This type of colorization was considered to be cutting edge state-of-the-art technology back in the day. Thanks for posting one of my all-time faves.

  • classic 80's awesome-----brings back the teen years,,, they dont dont make em like this anymore.

  • time is the arbiter of good tunes.

methinks herein lies a hidden gem.

  • this is one of the best songs from that magic period when i grew up called the 80's.one of my favorites..

  • Best Song Ever!!!!!!!!!!!

  • is it me or does dude slightly resemble Ace Ventura at the end of the video...hmmmmmm

  • This extended version is way better than the regular video and dont change this video it rocks this is awesome man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I'd like this song to be neverending. I wouldn't mind living in the 80's eternally listening to songs of that magic period!!!

    Five fire ball stars******. Amazing!!!

  • I was in the army stationed in Germany and in early '85 before i got discharged, I saw him play live-man, them German gals went nuts over him, lol.

  • What a very small world! I discovered this song while stationed in Germany from '84-'89!!! Wish I'd have gone to see his concert! Thanks to YouTube for bringing this ever lost in memory song back to me and having a chance to download it and listen to something I had forgotten! Great times, the 80's!!!!

  • I love how the ultra-popness of this track is underpinned with some great rock guitar riffs. Really good songwriting. Simple premise: envy and covetuousness not good. Apart from anything else we never know the full story of life on the 'other side'. I need to get me some Nik tunes.

  • On a more shallow unrelated topic... aren't his eyebrows phenomenal? It's as if in each video they enthrall and frighten me in equal measure ;)

  • Phenomenal.

    Most definitely!

    Especially against that

    'ground~breaking' colorization effect. 8D

  • This song is the 80's. Period.

  • Great comment mate!

  • i swear this song is about depression

  • YEAHHH!!

  • Don't let them tell you there wasn't any good music in the 80's!

  • there's something really great about this song..almost magic

  • The funny thing is I couldnt find anybody that loved this song back then as much as I did/do. Now theres you tube. Go figure.

  • miscvideoswhd,

Thanks for posting this song. It has to be mentioned the excellent qualitiy of the sound, far better than the other version posted in you tube.

  • Awesome song & video! The music from the 80's is some of the best since the 60's. The world was so much better back then............

  • 80's 80's 80's! ! ! high school days. reminds me of that girl from sta. rita college recolletos...

  • it was true magic, the day i first heard this. i thought ' somebody finally made the music i needed. thanx for the post and keep taking the tablets.

  • Finally a version where you can understand the lyrics in the end (5:58 till the end). In the normal version this part fades out early and it's also missing in the official lyrics.

  • the killers day and age was a inherent of post punk + electronic pop ... that's the best that we can consume for this era .. waht da ya think ?

  • Σουπερ φαβουριτα σαν φαγουρα παλια

  • the 80s was the days! simple and honest and pure laughs

  • i agree 80s 90s were the best

    Great tune BTW.

  • This song was the greatest 80's song every. I miss the 80's. Today's music is so hard to understand......

  • Love this song!!!

  • Ahhh how I miss the '80s. And the '90s for that matter.

  • I remember hearing this song way back in the day. I love it, especially the music and arrangement.

  • Great song...amazing it only got to #47 on the U.S. charts in 1984. Love this song!

  • I got it bad you don't know how bad I got it. You got it easy you don't know when you've got it good. It's getting harder just keeping life and soul together I'm sick of fighting even though I laiow I should. The cold is biting through each and ev'ry nerve and fibre My broken spirit is frozen to the core. I don't want to be here no more. Wouldn't it be good to be in your shoes even if it was for just one da:
  • The grass in always greener over there. Wouldn't it be good if we could live without a care. You must be joking you don't know a thing about it. You've got no problems I'd stay right there if I were you. I got it harder you couldn't dream how hard I got it Stay out of my shoes if you know what's good for you. The heat is stifling bun@ing me up from the inside. The sweat is coming through each and ev'ry pore.
  • I don't want to be here no more. I don't want to be here no more.

I don't want to be here no more.

Wouldn't it be good to be in your shoes even if it was for just one day. . . .

I got it bad. you don't know how bad I got it. .. .

  • To me it's about how life can be hard and then we sometimes think other people have it better, easier etc.. does the saying 'the grass is always greener on the other side of the hill' ring any bell to you? - sometimes you'd wished you weren't here when it's hard - a comforting song, cause it's hard for everybody sometimes even if we think it ain't, you just can't live other peoples life, you have to deal with your own.. PEACE bro .-)

  • Where can I Download the Extended Version?

  • your an idiot portugalb posting something as STUPID as that, pathetic person.Especially posting it on NIK KERSHAW WOULDNT IT BE GOOD.How dare you.

  • Well we all have to die sometime...

  • I was born in '67 so I remember the 70's and 80's well.

IMO, back than he guys still had skill and didn't need to rely on CG,computers, etc to sell their stuff.

Heck still got all my LP's and won't trade them for anything.

Personally, like music from the 50's up to the late-80's, some good music after that but mostly in the alternative/healing scene.

Said that the 80's seem to get revived recently.

  • I was born in ´92 and i love 80`s music. Is the best of all the times

  • ye im 91 and love Nik Kershaw and queen!

  • Yeah I was born '91 but the 80s choons are out of this world!

  • Yeah I'm like that too!!

  • Dude, I was born in 88 and this song is my soul song!

  • i wish i had the opportunity the 80's seemed so excellent.

  • The 80's were truly excellent. The possibilities life offered seemed limitless. It truly was a wonderful time to have been alive, and able to enjoy all that was happening.

  • yes you are so rite .....truly do miss those days

  • Excellent! I loved being a teen in the 80's!!

  • I have been looking for this song for the last 25 years. All I could remember was a few of the lyrics( and even those were wrong) and the guy phasing out in front of the satellite dish.....this is a classic !

  • Mega Don. Me 43 now but me wanna get to the next gig ;-)

  • I was born in 1992 and I believe that the best epoch of the music were the eighties.

  • Don't stop the 80's it was the best

  • is the best :)

  • it's a shame that most popular songs talk about nonsense i.e sex money hoes guns...

good thing there's a youtube so i can experience the 80's again (i was born in the 80's [89that is.])

  • It's a shame that you're so small minded that you seem to think you are only permitted to enjoy one type of music based upon unfounded sweeping generalizations.

You didn't experience the 80s in the first place if you were born in 1989, either.

  • jeez, calm down

  • Wouldn't it be good to be in the 80's again, I got it bad, you don't know how bad I got it, it's getting harder, I'm sick of fighting... Don't wanna be here no more, don't wanna be here no more, don't wanna don't wanna don't wanna be here no more.

  • man these 80s 12 inch songs are awesome.

  • Whatever happened to Nick Kershaw :(

  • i know should of been number one ,but in them days there so many brill artists about it was so much to compete with but i would say this should ofv been a num 1 worldwide fukin brill song just makes u realise how crap 2days music is ,shell brum xx

  • too right....music is so shite nowadays; it's not even funny anymore. This tune is an absolute gem but then again we were spoilt with good music in the 80s.....

  • we was spoilt very ..but today were robbed its all taken over by these stupid un talented rappers n over powering dance tunes ,i couldnt tell u wat in the charts i have no idea and i couldnt careless ,im on utube mostdays watchin 80svids lookin 4 12inches like this gem ...big up the 80s shell brum xxx

  • yeah, me too; love youtube for that!!!!....I've got all this stuff still on vinyl from when it actually came out back in the days; need to get a turntable again at some point. I've always bought records and stuff but lately I'm not buying anymore coz what's the point spending money on the rubbish that's out nowadays. 80s rule!!!!!

  • my grandads got all the vinels too of the 80s .i wudnt want the 7inchs of todays crap letalone 12inchs lol 8os rule
