  • Oh my gosh, you are SO right!!

  • this is one of their best tracks, very beautifull song !!

  • Agreed great tune!!

This was actualy 42,s first chart entry in 1978m!!

Mark still sings with such passion for the tune!!

He is one of all times underated musicians that the kids today havnt got a clue about unless mum and dad go into a brain wash mode!!!

  • The (odd) dance club success of this particular song lead to their getting a set record deal with a major label...."Brit-Funk" was born and Level 42 was off on rolling....it all really starts with this song.

  • @eidetecker I generally agree with you that Level 42 invented the "Brit-Funk", but the more I listen especially to their early songs, the more I think that they also have a very strong jazz influence. "Love meeting love" is a very good example, as well as "Why are you leaving" or "It's over".

Imagine "Love meeting love" played by a trumpet, and it could be Chris Botti or Till Broenner.

I recently heard someone descibing this kind of music as "Latte Macchiato Jazz" ... :-)

  • Nevertheless Level 42 were, are and always will be brilliant and one of my all time favourites!

  • @megicappel The b-side of the single Love Meeting Love has an instrumental version where the melody is played on tenor saxophone by David Chambers.

  • @jazzzzdude I recently heard this version and I like it very much. If I were single I would choose this kind of music for a rendez-vous ;-)

  • dang..no broke back

    i luv mark king~~~~

  • A great song from the early years.I believe it is the song with loved used ,more than any other.I would like to hear mark play a vintage graphite necked Alembic. I believe their 18 volt electronics with external power supply to be the best . You can not compare headroom of 9 volt battery's to an external power supply supplying amps not miliamps.

  • What amazes me is that they were all so young when this song was written. Such insight at such tender ages. The arrangement is so strong and powerful. Simply beautiful. Ah, memories! Level 42Help us to keep dreaming. Thanks for a lovely post, worth much more than 5 stars!

  • Ahhh... I was blessed to be stationed in the UK from 86 - 90. Heard this for the first time in Egypt of all places. Damn, great music is universal.. I picked up all off their cd's. My favorite ? True Colours ..

  • Yes, True colours is my favourite album too.

  • Great new vid of love making love!!!

    Thanks...

  • Wow, that is brilliant. Agree Orton. I can't believe this hasn't been viewed more. A Gem. Thank you.

  • I dont see how this beautiful song past millions of peoples ears.

To me this is a classic.

  • I can't believe this......my all time favorite Level 42 song. I've seen the show in the Netherlands and became crazy when I heard this song. Sweet memories......

  • Superb. One of their best tracks. And this is a great live version with a nice slap ending. GO ON KINGY!

  • Ahhhhh beautiful .. where it all started ... what a classic !!! Many thanks for posting this and sending it to me my friend ..xxx
