One of the combustion chambers is damaged, you can see it on the side of the engine facing the camera. More than likely its just dumping fuel straight into the engine, causing incomplete combustion.

It's probably a Klimov RD-500, or Russian copy of a Rolls-Royce Derwent. First-generation and therefore VERY old. None of them ever reached 100hrs service life due to poor turbine metallurgy.

Extremely dangerous...... That's a Russian copy of a Rolls Royce "Derwent" engine.... As used in the MIG-15.. That one has oil seal leaks, and a damaged exhaust turbine. Not only did it wet start, which was a common problem with them anyway, but it continued to burn expelled fuel in the tailpipe. They're damned lucky to be alive. that thing is in such a bad state, that it's close to exploding and taking half a block out with it. That or shedding blades and killing with hot flying metal.
