  • Every Friday we would close Assembly at my High School with this. We (Concert Choir) sat in the balcony.

  • good one

  • Yes, I, too, can still sing the alto part after learning this in Concert Choir and then singing it in church as the benediction. What a wonderful, wonderful piece of music!!!!

  • holy cow, this place looks exactly like my college campus chapel!

  • To whomever...where did y'all get the name "8400 Burr St. Channel. Just curious!

  • I cant stand clapping masses. Its like they look and react but dont understand. What about giving praise haha?

  • @WeSSENT457 It was a concert, not a mass.

  • We always sing this song at the end of any performance at my school in the advanced choir! I absolutley love it!

  • Pretty darn good rendition for a junior college choir! Way to go, Tyler JC singers!

  • This was my favorite song when I was in my high school choir. Tonite, the biggest influence in my life, my music teacher, passed away. I had to come find this song just to hear it again and remember her. Thank you, your version is the same as ours was. Great job!

  • This was learned by all Chorus members at Cloverdale High School and we performed it at graduation each year. At the memorial celebration for our band director, students from many years sang this again. It was wonderful.

  • Thank you. This brings back many joyful memories of singing this with my former choir. Beautiful voices, ladies and gentlemen--and I love the arms around each other.

  • I have had the most pleasure in doing this meaningful blessing many times over the years- and it still brings me to tears of joy. Your choir did it with PERFECTION, from the blending of the voices to the dynamics, to the excellent diction. I, too, was really impressed with each member of the choir - wrapping their arms around each other - just that simple jesture added so much. May the Lord Bless You and Keep You All! from Brantford, Ontario. Canada. :)

  • I learned this as a choirboy in the 1940s and eventually sang it as a bass. There is no better choral benediction.

  • my choir is singing this! :)

  • I didn't realise how many schools sang this as a tradition! At my old school, we sang this at the very end of the year at our last concert. The choir president, who's always a senior, gets to conduct it and I remember being up there with everyone, sounding amazing and looking up to see our president with tears just streaming down his face. We all got through the song somehow and I just remember everyone at the end crying and hugging each other relentlessly. This truly is an amazing song. <3

  • Me and my 6th grade class sang this last friday! :)

  • I sang in a state champion school choir in Virginia well over 40 years ago and this song was always our closing number. I can still remember every note of the tenor line and love singing along with this video today.

  • Perfect! Our Choral group did this in college. Excellent job!

  • In April 2010, me along with the Maryville Collge Community Chorus done this song and it is such a beautiful song, it was the first time that I had ever heard it.

  • Everyone who hears this be blessed and comforted.

  • I had just learned this song this year as a freshman and i know i'll never forget it, it's to beutiful.

  • @sharece123456789 me too! :O

  • @sharece123456789 ME too! :)

  • every year my choir goes to an invitational at another school. theres 4 other choirs there and at the end of the concert all five choirs sing it together. it sounds soooo beauitful.

  • we sing this at my high school and it gives me goosebumps on the amen's with the t2 and alto's amazing

  • i think this is really just a choir anthem, lol our choir sings it too. i could honestly sing it in my sleep. every year during our spring concert colt chorale sings it, and any alumni who were in colt chorale walk on stage with current members and we hold hands and sing. its an incredible tradition and it will be continue to be an amazing way to catch up with people, and a reminder that we're truly never alone.

  • I sang this over 30 years ago in either high school or junior high and had not heard it since until this video - and what a pleasure. Bravo to the Tyler Junior College A Capella Choir! A beautiful job!

  • This 'Benediction' was my High School Choir's "Signature" tune, as well...over 40 years ago...and I can still sing the Bass part without even thinking! The glorious "Sevenfold Amen" is a triumph of Choral composition.

  • Same here! I sang the bass part and still remember it from so long ago.

  • @kevieg3

    Amen

  • @kevieg3 It was also the closing song to every concert our HS choir sang back in the 60s - and it as a tradition that anyone in the audience who had ever been part of the school choir could come up and sing with the current choir. I have always wanted to do that - I wonder if they still invite "old" members up? Hmmm...

  • we have gigs like 25 times during december for the highskool choir.

    the people

    cry everytime

    we

    sing it =]]

  • We sing this at my high school too... it's so gorgeous. I love it! :)

  • Very pretty! :) I can't wait to join the choir next semester!
