"The C-SPAN networks will commit the necessary resources to covering all of the sessions LIVE and in their entirety," Lamb wrote. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi appeared to object to the premise behind the request. Sen. Barack Obama first pledged opening up legislative negotiations to C-SPAN cameras during a Democratic presidential primary debate with Sen. Hillary Clinton in Los Angeles on Jan. 31, 2008.
Obama promised repeatedly that ALL negotiations for a healthcare plan would be broadcast on C-SPAN, but like so many of his promises, it was all a LIE. (Nancy Pelosi and her cronies even laughed at a reporter's suggestion that they should stick to Obama's campaign promises). From the "Cash for Cloture" deals in the Senate, to these backroom deals in the House, the liberal leadership has been exposed for its duplicity.

The same argument could be used to argue for the prohibition of alcohol. In fact, alcohol is significantly more dangerous than marijuana. Are you in favor of prohibiting alcohol?
Yes, and 3/4 of every state legislature in the united states agreed with me when it was added to the Constitution. Alcohol and drugs just destroy personal responsibility. Thousands of peoples lives are taken because of drunk drivers. Things that alter your mind for the worse have to place here or anywhere. It's sad that people have to resort to that.
I agree with you that it is sad some people have to resort to that sort of thing, but I don't think government enforced prohibition will solve anything. Alcohol prohibition was repealed because it was a disaster, it causes more problems than it solves. Make something legal, and the black market disappears overnight.
And on a more philosophical note, I say if you're not free to make mistakes, then you are not free at all.
Yeah well I agree but there are many problems both ways whether it is legal or illegal. The problem is the distribution of drugs to the youth. If you're doing this stuff on your own private property and not leaving your private property until all mind altering affect are diminished it would say yes that should be an individual freedom, but in this case its not a perfect world at it will never work that way, which is why regulation is needed.
Sure regulation would be needed, I'll grant you that. Make it legal and regulate all you like. Alcohol is regulated, and so are all the other drugs and medicines we have. If drugs like marijuana were legal, its use would be a public health issue, not a criminal one.
And as for kids getting drugs, it is easier now for a teen to get weed than alcohol because drug dealers don't card their customers.

The House initially approved its bill on a three-vote margin only because it contained the Stupak amendment to ban abortion funding.

Alcohol prohibition was repealed because it was a disaster, it causes more problems than it solves. Make something legal, and the black market disappears overnight.
