@CrisisCore55 you can always cancel her celestial star by using stunbombs or any items that can stun and cancel her move. also, if ur def is like 4k, u dont have to worry anymore

key to easy fight this boss is def make around 2 k def on all of your team mates use the 30atk/def boots and out them on the weapons and ac and on floor 173 you can build up a chain on the spider mob so you can be like lvl 230 in 2 h whit nothing els then the 3 x exp guarge and wulla this bitch will die and fraya what a joke make a little more def and shi hit like a frog XD
i couldn't see how to reach the ridiculously high levels on this game....think i ended up cheating using action replay after going in the arena place for hours and hardely getting anywhere....gah i wanna be a hardcore rpg player lol.
@SupErMasSiVepancake to get to those kind of levels you need to have finished the main game and moved onto the bonus dungeons. Theres a level at sphere company (cant remember atm, but i think it was 167 or something) where you could pretty much max out each characters level in a few hours. Just go find a room with the toad men get tripple exp and fight them over and over. i maxed everyone out in a day. Its not that hard to get high levels in these games if you know how. Just gotta explore lots.

I already beat Freya long ago (galaxy + universe) and I can say atk and mp have little to do with beating her. It's the def you get from the Boots of Prowess + turning your berserk option off (literally your invincible w/ def over 4000 on difficulty under 4D). Atk can be easily gained from Tri Emblems + the 30% atk/def factor from the boots, but maxing atk only would be your downfall cause I made the same mistake on my 1st playthrough lol. Once you've 9999 atk refining is useless.

i remember the very first time i fought her, she didnt even have time to use celestial star, and my characters werent even really that nice, but she just got the business lmbo, but afterwards i never owned her that bad again

hah, I always play through it twice whenever I pick it up. Once to beat the game with the best character combos, and another to see the main characters (ashton, celine, dias, opera).
Let me know how it goes... After they released the PSP version with the horrible character art (rena looked like a 6 year old, Claude looked like a puss) my hopes dropped for the other sequels. I think I'll play Mass Effect 2 first. :)
I recommend Star Ocean: First Departure if you're attached to the cast of SO2, 'cause Ronyx (Claude's dad) is a playable character there as is his mom (as far as everyone can tell).
from what I'm seeing, Ethereal Queen likes to use close range attacks, and attacking with Maria seems to be safer. You'd still need a tank to keep her off the softer characters, which is what Cliff is there for.
Tis game was amazing. Ill never sell it. You can literally become invincible in this game if you do it right. I beat Freya without a single pointof damage taken to my Fayt. Not hard. Just take a Veinslay and put 8 fully refined Boots of Prowess on it.Freya will deal 0 dmg to you if your defense is over 5000. This is of course only Galaxy difficulty however. And Magic still hurts you.
@SoulReaver267 you need 240 battle trophies (80%) to unlock the last playable costumes which is 4P costumes. 45 (15%) you unlock 2P outfits, and at 120 (40%) you unlock 3P outfits.

Haha, I kinda miss MP kills in SO4, I was reminiscing the other day and was down to 0 MP and freaked out for a second. Aye, I really do miss MP kills... it was my easy way of defeating Albel. :/
when i did it Fayt and Cliff were decoys and attacked furiously While Maria used Energy Burst and i buffed her attack with a 40%might tablet and just beat thefuck out of her
At 3:46 its a big move that really puts a toll on your items as she will continue attacking while you recover xD. When the party is paralized, you are like screwed if you don't have at least 1 not paralized. Luckily you still had sophia. The meteor swarm doesn't look strong but the etherial queen 1/2 the damage of all elements. xD lol either way, good job xD
If you are wondering, the Ethereal Queen(as well as Gabriel Celeste) are not heroes or villains in their own video games, they are bosses created by Tri-Ace to give the players who complete any of their games an additional challenge.
Though I have to admit, in Star Ocean the optional bosses are simply too overpowered and are not really worth the time and effort to defeat. So I haven't even bothered.
I did break them in Radiata Stories. Elwen and Lenneth sorta made the fight way too easy.:D
Eh, I've not yet fought the cretins, so I wouldn't know what to reply to you with...
Here's something... I'd prefer to fight bosses like Abyssion or Nebilim in the Tales of series, as opposed to fighting the ridiculously overpowered bosses of Star Ocean. I don't like a foe that can take 99,999 HP and reduce it to zero in a few moments. Level grinding and inventing are a must in order to even come close to surviving such fights. To avoid the tedium, I'll just stick with games that don't bite.
Pretty much... except Tales of Hearts' extra boss Richia is like this since she just spams her mystic arte every 30 seconds (and basically kills you off without any support). More recent MAs (Shining Bind for Traitor to Heavens-ToV) are overpowered but at least only used every so often. A boss that can just wipe out all your hp in one shot with any attack or have super defenses is just tedious and not a challenge, kinda like unknown mode in Abyss when you deal only 1 damage to Liger Queen.
Ahh...speaking of a MA spammers...Nebilim can get quite irksome with her overpowered MAs...especially that blasted Fragmented End that deals out way too much damage and is inescapableif she activates it while you're about to attack her. Abyssion is the most fun I've ever had against an optional boss. His Hidden Skill is strong, but not so strong as to kill off anyone trapped in it...but he does tend to follow Indignation Judgement up with a sick little Meteor Storm..he can be evil at times. :D
ha ha definitely true. But the good thing here is that MAs in both ToS and TotA are escapcable in some capacity, although the AIs just walk into them (...). I hated that when Nebilim uses Fragmented End and I run a diagonal to escape, some AI (like Guy) just walks right into it. Indignation Judg. is a little difficult since if you are not in the air, then you freeze as soon as the circle hits you. But yes, Indignation Judg. + Meteor Storm = Near death. Also, Toss Hammer for God Tier >.>
Ha ha! That reminds me of the time that I fought the 3rd Sword Dancer on Mania Mode in Tales of Symphonia. All three allies charge in to attack him and, the moment they do, he hits them with a Death Spiral, killing them instantly. :D
I finally completed this game, now I'm headed for the Maze of Tribulations... before I do so, I would like to obtain some Tri-Emblems... or are they found in the Maze?
Of course, buying them is out of the question...I need money for refining and whatnot, I will not waste ridiculous amounts of fol just so that I may get ONE Tri-Emblem...

once you reach sphere 211 floors 101-211 youll start getting loads of exp and fol so you should make enough to both spend on item creation and tri emblems. and yes you do get them in the maze

My characters are in the mid to upper 90s and I still have yet to face the Ethereal Queen....She looks like a pain in the ass.....great.....but hey, its another challenge that I definitely look forward to!

in other words...it's just going to bore me to death...gotcha. it is truly stupid how they made the leveling slow in this one but in second story you can practically get to level 99 at the very beginning using a trick...then again Enix is now SQUAREenix and we all know how nonsensical those jokers are. most of their games are becoming very dull. what a f'ing joke.
well i'm around level 90 something at the moment and i have laser weapons with 6 orichalcum's attached to them except for fayt which is using a veinslay sword with the orichalcum on it, which provides me with 2,000 something attack. what makes it go higher? just leveling? i have yet to venture into the secret dungeon but i think i'm ready to now. i'll have to beat Luther again though, forgot to save after.
Ethereal Queen isn't until the very top of the Sphere 211, which is the second bonus dungeon. You're probably going to be at least level 160 by the time you get there.
The way you get 9999 attack is to get the ultimate weapons for characters (they are dropped by bosses in the Sphere 211), refine them to remove the negative factors, then synth a bunch of Boots of Prowess onto them, essentially. I think you only need like four per weapon.
sounds easy but yet a pain at the same time. i must say i dont appreciate the synthesis system in the least. i much preferred SO2's way. this system is a mess, conglomerated with confusion and lack of stability. even with the best alchemy masters i failed a billion times trying to synth a philosopher's stone. well atleast it's only 4 boots a weapon as oppossed to the 6 orichalcum's and the bonus dungeon sure sounds like fun, even surpassing the level of extreme in SO2's dungeon. whee.
I actually had a lot of fun with it once I figured out how it worked - customising my own equipment in the postgame was easily my favourite part of both SO3 and SO4 (especially SO4 since they expanded upon it a ton).
eh...it had good pedigree carrying it out through the series but how it is executed in SO3 is where the problem lies...and i have yet to get a hold of SO4 seeing as how i dont even have a PS3 or an xbox360...kind of sucks you have to buy all these systems just to play a game anymore. i'm more of a fan of oldschool anyway...still would be nice but oh well, i'll eventually get to...
mmk, i am about level 60 with fayt, nel, and maria. is it good when i have both health and mp at max on all three :D (bout 5 or 6 on attack and defense)

refining......however the 8 boots of prowess wont work on levantine as it has the existing +1000 atk. Veinslay is the best choice for uber fayt

At 3:46 its a big move that really puts a toll on your items as she will continue attacking while you recover xD. When the party is paralized, you are like screwed if you don't have at least 1 not paralized. Luckily you still had sophia. The meteor swarm doesn't look strong but the etherial queen 1/2 the damage of all elements. xD lol either way, good job xD

If you are wondering, the Ethereal Queen(as well as Gabriel Celeste) are not heroes or villains in their own video games, they are bosses created by Tri-Ace to give the players who complete any of their games an additional challenge.
Though I have to admit, in Star Ocean the optional bosses are simply too overpowered and are not really worth the time and effort to defeat. So I haven't even bothered.
I did break them in Radiata Stories. Elwen and Lenneth sorta made the fight way too easy.:D

Eh, I've not yet fought the cretins, so I wouldn't know what to reply to you with...
Here's something... I'd prefer to fight bosses like Abyssion or Nebilim in the Tales of series, as opposed to fighting the ridiculously overpowered bosses of Star Ocean. I don't like a foe that can take 99,999 HP and reduce it to zero in a few moments. Level grinding and inventing are a must in order to even come close to surviving such fights. To avoid the tedium, I'll just stick with games that don't bite.

Pretty much... except Tales of Hearts' extra boss Richia is like this since she just spams her mystic arte every 30 seconds (and basically kills you off without any support). More recent MAs (Shining Bind for Traitor to Heavens-ToV) are overpowered but at least only used every so often. A boss that can just wipe out all your hp in one shot with any attack or have super defenses is just tedious and not a challenge, kinda like unknown mode in Abyss when you deal only 1 damage to Liger Queen.

Ahh...speaking of a MA spammers...Nebilim can get quite irksome with her overpowered MAs...especially that blasted Fragmented End that deals out way too much damage and is inescapableif she activates it while you're about to attack her. Abyssion is the most fun I've ever had against an optional boss. His Hidden Skill is strong, but not so strong as to kill off anyone trapped in it...but he does tend to follow Indignation Judgement up with a sick little Meteor Storm..he can be evil at times. :D

ha ha definitely true. But the good thing here is that MAs in both ToS and TotA are escapcable in some capacity, although the AIs just walk into them (...). I hated that when Nebilim uses Fragmented End and I run a diagonal to escape, some AI (like Guy) just walks right into it. Indignation Judg. is a little difficult since if you are not in the air, then you freeze as soon as the circle hits you. But yes, Indignation Judg. + Meteor Storm = Near death. Also, Toss Hammer for God Tier >.>

Ha ha! That reminds me of the time that I fought the 3rd Sword Dancer on Mania Mode in Tales of Symphonia. All three allies charge in to attack him and, the moment they do, he hits them with a Death Spiral, killing them instantly. :D

I finally completed this game, now I'm headed for the Maze of Tribulations... before I do so, I would like to obtain some Tri-Emblems... or are they found in the Maze?
Of course, buying them is out of the question...I need money for refining and whatnot, I will not waste ridiculous amounts of fol just so that I may get ONE Tri-Emblem...
Help would be greatly appriciated.

once you reach sphere 211 floors 101-211 youll start getting loads of exp and fol so you should make enough to both spend on item creation and tri emblems. and yes you do get them in the maze

My characters are in the mid to upper 90s and I still have yet to face the Ethereal Queen....She looks like a pain in the ass.....great.....but hey, its another challenge that I definitely look forward to!

in other words...it's just going to bore me to death...gotcha. it is truly stupid how they made the leveling slow in this one but in second story you can practically get to level 99 at the very beginning using a trick...then again Enix is now SQUAREenix and we all know how nonsensical those jokers are. most of their games are becoming very dull. what a f'ing joke.

I think I beat her at like level 180-something. She's really not that hard if you have the right setup with 9999 ATK weapons and so on.

well i'm around level 90 something at the moment and i have laser weapons with 6 orichalcum's attached to them except for fayt which is using a veinslay sword with the orichalcum on it, which provides me with 2,000 something attack. what makes it go higher? just leveling? i have yet to venture into the secret dungeon but i think i'm ready to now. i'll have to beat Luther again though, forgot to save after.

Ethereal Queen isn't until the very top of the Sphere 211, which is the second bonus dungeon. You're probably going to be at least level 160 by the time you get there.
The way you get 9999 attack is to get the ultimate weapons for characters (they are dropped by bosses in the Sphere 211), refine them to remove the negative factors, then synth a bunch of Boots of Prowess onto them, essentially. I think you only need like four per weapon.

sounds easy but yet a pain at the same time. i must say i dont appreciate the synthesis system in the least. i much preferred SO2's way. this system is a mess, conglomerated with confusion and lack of stability. even with the best alchemy masters i failed a billion times trying to synth a philosopher's stone. well atleast it's only 4 boots a weapon as oppossed to the 6 orichalcum's and the bonus dungeon sure sounds like fun, even surpassing the level of extreme in SO2's dungeon. whee.

I actually had a lot of fun with it once I figured out how it worked - customising my own equipment in the postgame was easily my favourite part of both SO3 and SO4 (especially SO4 since they expanded upon it a ton).

eh...it had good pedigree carrying it out through the series but how it is executed in SO3 is where the problem lies...and i have yet to get a hold of SO4 seeing as how i dont even have a PS3 or an xbox360...kind of sucks you have to buy all these systems just to play a game anymore. i'm more of a fan of oldschool anyway...still would be nice but oh well, i'll eventually get to...
