I am a Chinese, a Christian, a pastor, a scholar in theology, but I just can't totally agree with the sermon. You must understand the Chinese history and culture to comment the Chinese calligraphy. If you just quote the bible to interpret Chinese calligraphy, it is not acceptable. You must explain Chinese words from Chinese literature first, then using bible to confirm it. My 2 cents.

For example, I think his explanation of "Sin" or "Zui" was an overstretch, and merely based on opinion and assumption which he stated as fact. That's just not right. :)
@wallacemang But some of the examples he use is simple chinese characters...Then how do you explain chinese characters like 'boat' which has the character 'eight' and 'people' ? the only explaination besides the connection to noah's ark that had eight people. is that eight is a lucky number. But chinese characters are based on images, from early stories that represents that word.
It could be a stretch...but it does make sense right?..
