Bass Cat is most defn one of the best boats around....very fast and they handle very well....Um you cant compare a Bullet to a basscat...total diff style of fishing platform....And yes a loaded Cat can keep up with a stock loaded bullet with the same HP.....

Nitro is the next best bass boat, look at any bass magizine, all they advertise now is nitro with a mercury pro xs and fury prop. rangers will b top boats for maybe 2 more years and the only reason bass cats are considered good is because of there speed not boat fishing design or modern technolgy, that goes to either triton, nitro or ranger. Nitro will be the best on the water

@nitrocdx24 Nitro makes a good hull. Their little things are the problem. carpet peeling up, carpet trim coming loose, guages loose in the instrument panel, switches going bad etc..... If they could fix these little problems, I would buy one. I've fished out of just about all of them and I have to say that Basscat and Skeeter and my picks. Ranger boats are very nice and very beautiful, but they are also very heavy. my opinion.

Mercury is the #1 motor out there. And a basscat clowns on a ranger when it comes to rough water. The only thing your paying for when you buy a ranger is the name..

ok, I have to say Mercury #1 on the water, and yes Bass Cat's are the sh~t. I don't think i've been passed by any other boat running a 200! For sure not in rough water. the one thing good about the basscat is that they have been JD power for 5 years running. They got the design for speed and handling in all types of conditions.

Ive worked on outboards for 6 years yamaha is one of the best motors Ive seen, and rangers are built for ride not speed they are lead sleds...

No doubt in my mind that yamaha and merc are just as good if not a bit better then evinrude, but I got an evinrude and I love it, so I can't say that they are a bad motor. As for the "lead sled" idea, you're partially correct, but ever since the z-series came out, ranger has been able to make boats that pass your tritons, skeeters, etc. while incorporating that smooth ride. Best of both worlds.

Love my 94 basscat! Handles GREAT in rough water compared to triton and ranger (which I have both rode in), not to mention will run 68 with just a 150 pushing 20.5 feet!

Jesus i swear every ranger boat owner has a set goal to make sure everyone knows their boat is the best. Sure its a comfy ride, but slow. Dont even argue your ranger z can do 80+.. Its bullshit, and even if true, still slow. If i wanted slow and comfy i wouldve bought a pontoon.

I have never heard of a defect in there workmanship...........ever. I will bet you havent either. My boat is a 1994 with not one single stress crack. Bet most of those Basscats with those great warrenties cant say that. I blew the motor up going with a 260......Wapow Wapow!!!!!!!!!

Rangerbass is just a little kid He doesnt have hair on his nuts yet so dont listen to him. Ranger use to be the best built until Forrest L Wood sold Ranger to Genmar and now they build cookie cutter boats with cut corners to make more money. Basscat is a family owned company that has built bassboats for a long time and they are without a doubt one of the best built rigs out there. I dont even own a Basscat but would consider one anytime.
