In the 1950s if you had just a little noticeable black in your heritage, you had to sit in the back of the bus, and drink from the water fountain marked "Negroes only". Not being "all-black" didn't matter. So why is it that criterion doesn't matter now, now that a black/biracial man is about to accomplish something of important, something of note?
