From a rockpile in my back yard haha. If you're gonna hunt for rocks in your backyard, sure the ones you get are clean and not exposed to lawn fertilizers and pesticides though. And boil them over and over to kill all bacteria and other nasty stuff first. The tree is a maple branch.  Again, it must be completely dry (ie. it should snap easily). Then boil it to clean it. :)
