I was taught to use levels on low light photos, pull the level back to the beginning of the information, if you have info all the way across, leave it alone. Curves, grab about 1/4 way down and go slightly left, grab 1/4 from bottom and go slightly right, works on most of my stuff. I am no expert, my buddy showed me, he has a photog business.
Just about every tutorial on curves that I have seen shows you that you create an "S" curve by pulling the top curve up and the down curve down to form an "S". This guy if the first to do it HIS way. I tried it and it doesn't work as well as the "S" curve method.
