  • Thats How The Railroad Intersections is able to get signal and the gates go down :D

  • where does one get a signal at? I really would enjoy having one

  • Nice!

What makes the relay flash at the rate it does?

    Thank you.

  • There are a set of electromagnetic coils on the flasher relay, connected together with a top plate that goes to a pole in front of the two coils, with washers on it. This is what controls the flash rate. The more washers you take off, the faster the relay will flash.

  • Could you ever post a detailed close-up view of the flasherelay?

I do not understand how the washers affect the flash rate.

    Thank you.

  • Sure. I'll send you a message with a link to a page somebody created that describes how the flasher relay works, as well as how a complete crossing signal setup works.

  • It's really neet and especially in your back yard. The only thing you are missing is a diesel locomotive.

  • It's the flasher relay to make the lights flash...

  • Is this a way 2 scare off intruders? Just wanted 2 know.

  • No, it's just for my amusement...LOL... :)

  • do you have an LED light crossing signal?

  • No, I do not. Just the gate lights are LED.

  • Is The Mini Bell Not Hoocked Up?

  • No, not at the time. I really can't have any mechanical bells running around here, since I live in the city, with neighbors all around. If you check the other video, the one showing the mast signals up, I shook the mast, and the mini bell was running under manual power.
