wow. you caught some history on tape here. The Truth is one of the best songs ever - and it's off DC's Indie album which he created almost single-handed. The lyrics and melody are amazing... the whole album (Analog Heart) is too. AH is pure, distilled, unadulterated David Cook, and The Truth is probably the best song on it. AH is why so many people fell in love with Cookie.

This is like the Holy Grail, because a super old clip of Cook singing this song on a cheesy Oklahoma tourism site is about the only piece of pre-Idol Cook singing on YouTube. Either Idol peeps were really thorough in removing Cook YouTube during the show. Or the world did not know how awesome he was and capture if for posterity.
