  • Very Very cool, It's always fun to see story's visualized. It looks very good, especially with what you're working with. I'm sure you put a lot of time into it. Thanks! I enjoyed it!

  • It's... it's like a genetic engineering disaster... Wheel of Time meets the Sims meets Final Fantasy. I appreciate the effort, but please don't shit on a masterpiece.

  • I wonder why the Winter has been so bad Tam... You're in a desert!! haha! But anyway, nice job, I suppose. The Wheel of Time are some of my favorite books.

  • you did one thing wrong, the horse of a myrdraal doesnt make any sound :P

  • Aww I saw Lassie :D Didn't know Lassie was in WoT ;)

Great vid, btw... makes me wonder why I read the books in the first place when I couldn've watched this

  • Really good mate =) but at one point i thought the girl at the beginning when they came to town was Egwene and i was like whaaaaaaaaaaaaaat

  • Pretty good :D Will you continue it? :)

  • An awesome display of effort. Hope you keep at it. You'll be a great director one day.

  • this video is somehow addictive hehe. good work :-)

  • Would love to see another one from you, software has come along now so maybe it might be better!

  • I just felt i must stop it because it's try to destroy all of my imaginations from the book.OK Ok i understand you have borders because of the software, but than don't do it,or use an other one.

  • everyone should keep in mind that this was done with Sims (i think), and if not, certainly with limited software.

The very kind person who set aside their time to do this for us could not add in a cart for rand and tam, or change the sign on a building because the software wouldn't allow it.

I'm quite amazed at tthis and I think it is brilliant.

  • Im sorry but that was terible! the books desrve way better, im sure ur a fan of the books, but please!

  • You should make this into a movie have you ever thought about going into cartoons. I have the perfect plot for this

  • Good but a bit too "Western".

  • That's like Final Fantasy music...

yea, Definitely from FF 4/5. I live the incorporation of it tho.

you should give some credit of it.

  • Good effort, but re-read the books. The were taking a cart into town, Rand was carrying a bow for starters.

  • Great job!

  • Is Lan drunk, or was that Goofy Crosses the Courtyard?

  • Hey did you make this with a software simialr to sims? cos it looks so familiar...

  • Wait, there is a bank in two rivers??? What page is that on?

  • Wait, there is a bank in two rivers???

  • I didn't realize that Solid snake was the actor that plays Lan.

  • Great job with the camera and the choice of scenes. Dialogs are well selected too. The limitations of the software are unfortunate, like Moiraine's dress while riding.

I wonder what is with the Western theme in the town, the tavern and hotel look like something from a Clint Eastwood movie rather than Willow or Lord of the Rings (which will be far more appropriate for the Wheel of Time). Was that a ready made thing from the engine or you created it yourself?

  • @TriMiro8107 It reminds me of Stephen King's The Gunslinger from the Dark Tower Series ( a series based on Lord of the Rings).

  • Considering the amount of time and effort that went into this, I believe congratulations are definitely in order.

On a side note, do you also happen to have Spore?

  • @MysteryEK It's called Long Distance, from the game Final Fantasy 4

  • A valiant effort, especially considering how clearly limiting the software was. Moraine's jewel for instance. You had to put it on her neck, but you remembered. I also like how you shaded the Myrddraal's face so we didn't see his eyes.

The software base was ocasionally humorous. I liked that sound Rand makes when he encounters the Myrddraal, and Lan at 6:36. He certainly moves like a Warder!

3:09 - is that the FFIV Town Theme?

  • @IamMeHere2See yes it is the FF4 town theme, the opening theme is the overworld from FF4.

    Thanks for noticing the jewel.

  • you did a great job =D

I noticed it looked like Fade had eyes, you just never showed them =)) do more WoT movies!!!

  • Thought you did a really good job! I wish you could have used the Wheel of Time soundtrack (Robert Berry) for the movie, it worked really well in the game from the '90's, and I think it might have worked better that the FF music...but I really can't complain. Even though some scenery didn't match with what one would expect to see, the written dialog really helped to keep it WOT. Fantastic work when you think about the program you used!

  • Great job, but the FF music really disturbed me ^_^

  • wow. I have to commend you on a great effort, I certainly could never have done anything like that. I'm just excited about the next book.

  • I really liked this, good job!

  • this is pretty good :D i always imagines emonds field as just like grass with buildings scattered though..maybe just cos of the name though lol.

  • jThe buidings are soposed to be thatched and why a telagraph building

  • you did a pretty damn good job considering the limitations you had to work with, they certainly look better than my flip books.......bah who am i kidding i cant even make a flip book right...... *weeps* hahaha

  • Well I think this was awesome, if comical. Nice work.

  • I agree there are considerable flaws, but I've played around with Movies before and I completely understand its (rather frusterating) limits. You definitely used everything to it's full potential, so considering what you had to work with, you did a really great job.

  • you did very well. its very cute to watch.

    Moirraine looks pretty.

Rand's dad looks too fat, I would have switched him with the Congar guy with the ponytail. he looks more like a warrior (as rands dad was).

    well done!

  • Where's Bella and the cart? The bows and arrows? Bran al'Vere? The kegs of brandy? Moiraine an Lan were already inthe village.

  • Special Appearance by The Myrddraal. LOL, that cracked me up.

  • wheres Bela and the carriage? if you could put the carriage in, you should have at least popped Bela in there :P

  • I am a 3D modeler also and made my own 1st chapter of WoT. I have to admit yours is very well done. I know you missed details, but its limited by the movie software. I created everything from scratch and did all the modeling texturing lighting and even the crappy voice acting. Check mine out when you get the chance. Its version 1 and I know the backgrounds float. Ill clean that up in version 2 in the coming weeks

  • animegirlUK, well done. I really liked it. Its funny how some people have to pick every little detail that isn't accurate. Who cares. Its great to see a book come to life, especially The Wheel of Time. You must have put a lot of time and effort into making this little clip. Keep up the great work.

  • define snake like grin

  • Can you please make more Wheel of Time movies that would be cool!! This one rocks. Rand is my hero.

  • I have just started reading this series for the very first time (it's bad, I know, but in a way I am glad because I am loving it so far and I've brought the first 6 books). |I have just finished reading the first chapter this morning and I have not get into a book this fast in a very long while. Ur video really captures the mood anmd essence I felt when reading it. It's a great piece of work and if anyone says it is bad, just say it is your adaptation. Thank you for this. It is brilliant.

  • U should do more!

  • Nice work. Clearly a lot of the comments below were made by people who don't know "The Movies" since they manage to criticise stuff you have no control over, I must say I'm impressed though :)

  • Very nicely done - have you ever thought of taking audio from the audio books for the dialogue, rather than text dialogue? Just wondering :)

  • very nice.... waiting for all the rest till the gathering storm...(for the battles you could use something like Total War... eh eh...

  • That's actually quite well made. Obviously some of the details are off but putting it in consideration that you just did it at home yourself, it's very well done. I really really like it.

  • I think you did a VERY good job considering the software you were using. It is obvious you are a dedicated fan of the books. The only thing that threw me was the guy nailing the door shut. I will give it an 8 out of 10 considering what you had to work with!

  • I always pictured the two rivers as more of the Shire in Lord of the rings, without the midgets. But anyways, still nice to see someone take the effort to make a wheel of time short film. Good job.

  • This is brilliant. Too bad the movies doesn't have more medieval-ish features

  • I was impressed until you got to the town, I didn't know Rand was from the okay coral!!

  • @IPman77 same

  • Nice efforts, but a few things...

Who is the random creeper with the hammer?

Why do they go into the bank?

  • Thats Perrin (he had no beard in the beginning)

The bank..well I could not disguise that with trees, like I did someof the other buildings

  • Great video!

Where can I get that version of the FFIV main theme?

  • Yeah this is actually seriously well done :)

  • lan is the same height as moiraine wtf?

  • I did not like the western theme you had going on. Saloon? But besides that it was fun and cute. :) It will be fun to see more from you. Keep up the good work

  • Well, it seems you put alot of work into this, so nice job! Glad to see someone trying to make something out of this amazing series.

As for if I like it.. lets just say i will probably be disapointed even with the Universal motion picture. The story of a good book should look the way the reader imagined it. Since every reader imagine it differently....yeah.

Anyway. I would have at least tried making the myrddraal eyeless, but if its a matter of the software youve been using, i forgive you! :)

  • Haha! Kind of funny watching the story!

But it really is impressive how you've managed to make the video!

  • I loved the titles, especially Moiraine's.

  • It's funny you put a version of FFIV main theme. Both aren't really related^^

  • that's nicely done! nice atmosphere in the video too! you should definitely carry on making videos like this one!

  • Obviously you put alot of time and effort into this. I really enjoyed it. There should be 10x as many views!

  • You should get someone to help you voice this. I for one would be glad to help you out.

  • i think it's great

  • a very good effort. What did you use to make this video? my friend did something similar for a school project.

  • This was bad charactors did not look right moiraine was too tall lan didn't have the hadori and tam is supposed to be barrelchested not fat

  • My goodness, this was really amazing! So fun to watch and so well done ^^ And nice choice of music too!

  • As I've said before; I really enjoyed it! I'd like to see more. :-)

  • you should have someone help you voice this

  • Really cool!

  • i love Lan's "deadly warder stalking" haha :)

    good work anyway

  • pretty damn good. It was a good representation of the book. Plus, I know how hard stuff like this is because I also have "The Movies" and it can be very difficult to actually make something presentable. You've done an amazing job from that perspective.

  • lol, not bad. messed up on the fade though, but it has msot of the key points to the intro. and movies don't usually follow the book to the letter anyways.

  • the fade blinked.. they dont have eyes.

  • meh

  • be carefull the rights on the books are already sold to universal pictures

  • Very well done. Needs voices though.

  • the eyeless eyes were blinking :P

  • Excellent Job.

You should consider making this a huge project and do the entire series, haha. I would be more than willing to help with that :)

  • it is really cool, what did u use for this?

  • The Movies Game software for PC

  • Even if their mouths don't move. The only thing I can say is to remove the subtitled and get yer friends to voice the characters. That would doulbe the marqui value of it.

  • Not so bad. I'd say pretty good considdering. I'm sure someone like Peter Jackson could do better, with a FIVE HUNDRED MILLION DOLLAR budget. You did this yourself. Good work lad.

  • Considering your limitations this is very good. :-)

  • ... Read the description >.>

  • Fuck these haters, it is damn cool you made this

  • its awfull sorry, it should be hard to create... and i don't want to be rude. but it really is to bad.

  • This is almost as gay as the Jordancon bullshit - please stop.

  • Hahahaha that reminds me of Goldeneye from N64. Just blocky faces that don't move but there are subtitles.

  • I love the sountrack at the start you took from one of the Final Fantasy games(can't remember which). Pay no attention to all these haters, you did your best and its your own take on the books which is fine-Well done!

  • The idea was good , but the result ... well ... poor.And the soundtrack ... grrrr ... I don't like it.Maybe next time ;)

  • It just wasn't there for me and it is rather insulting to the wot series.

  • Comment removed

  • Ok, I love The Wheel Of Time, and for you to create this is a sin, take it down. Please. The books deserve better than this. seriously. I know you feel the same way I do about the series, and that you want to express that, but this video is horrible. sorry.

  • I applaud your enthuiasm

  • overworld theme to FF4?! nice choice

  • God damn you Black Ajah!

  • It was fine made, congratz.I didn't like the wild wild west though,Emonds Field is much more simpler I think. But were was Nynaeve? And Moiraine dress it's kinda short sleeved for a winter's day.Aes Sedai and all but she had a blue cloack on.

But I liked the way you made them, that was cool indeed.

  • They went into a Bank and Mint as well as rode past a Telegraph office?!!

An age long ago and an age yet to come?

When will they go "Back to the Future"?

You might as well put Wile E. Coyote and Foghorn Leghorn in one of these.

  • haha with special apearances by the mydraal lol

  • Drahgkars are cooler! =)

  • Great job. I enjoyed watching the animation! Keep up the good work! And let us know when you have the next episode...:-).

  • I'm impressed with what you could do. I really enjoyed watching this. Thank you very much for sharing this with us :D

  • that was fun. I love these books.

  • not bad at all! Just wish characters weren't so jerky in their movements.

  • Great movie, Good job :)

    <3 WoT <3

  • Well, I challenge all those really critical people to make something better. It's easy to criticise somebody else's work, but you really have no right if you can't produce something better yourself.

I think you did a wonderful job. Don't be disheartened. Keep making movies. :)

  • Its still a lot more accurate than the book covers hahaha

  • a nice attempt but it looks very VERY wrong and needs a lot of work. i suggest you read up on it to be more accurate. NO EMMY FOR YOU!

  • Emonds Field had the feel of a gun toting Western movie for me, or rather a spaghetti western!

  • The animation was decent but i have to agree you must never have read the books, first of all tam wasnt heavy he was lean. not to mention the fact that the whole of emonds field was just incredibly wrong... all in all i give this a 2 out of 10

  • ~thats really disheartening~ I love the books, why else would I make movies about them. It's been my fave serie since I was 16. I made Tam fat as I was running out of characters I could add to the movie. I could only use a few at the time. Anyone who uses the Movies software will know I pushed it to it's limits

  • your right after watching it again it wasnt bad, i just had a lot of things in my mind that i would want to see in a movie about WOT. and i didnt know you were limited to what you could do with the program. i think last night when i wrote that mean comment i couldnt get over tam being heavy and how emonds feild looked. but i watched it again and getting past those things i mentioned it was fairly enjoyable lol. sorry for the mean comment 8 out of 10 today :)

  • @jamon10987

Tam is repeatedly referred to as "solid" or "blocky" throughout the books.

  • Very nice... the details you included were amazing. and since i assume you were working with basic and not extrem programs i have to say this was remarkable

  • how do i use the game? when i go on its just stupid things like Argle Bargle!

  • Comment removed

  • Moraine has WHAT????

  • Lol this was made from the Sims game, I'm assuming?

  • I like how Moraine's dress cuts through the horsie.

  • Dude, the whole Wild West thing is terrible. I agree with Bloodrainee. This is too much like Firefly, minus the ships.

  • Firefly had magic? The Wild West was lush/green? The Wheel of Time has guns? The Wheel of Time has no ships?

I admit, that last one was a low, and very stupid blow, but you can't critique someone's work based on a similarity of scenery. The only thing that happens in that chapter of the book is Rand walks to town, discovers there's strangers in town (Which is rare, I assume you haven't read the book) and meets up with a friend.

Really, how many people in Firefly meet with friends? >.>

  • Good Job! The wild west setting cracks me up xD

  • Hmm.. not bad actually, but i have to say, it looks like an old western.Emonds field seems more like a lush, green habitat that seems to be in quite a bad winter in the book. Rand looks kinda like Han Solo but in the book he sounds a bit younger in the book.

  • I hope they'l make a real film of the book some day

  • hmmmm...the wild west thing was uninspired, and tam wasn't that fat in my minds eye. the fade had eyes in one seen, you can see him blinking...but still, a nice trubute to RJ. maybe try again when the graphic ebgines are better for end-users.

  • ha ha! ^^ Love it! Is'nt it done in Movie maker? The game? 'cause I think I recognise some stuff from it. But I think the video is well done if you did it in the game 'cause it's hard to make the caracters look like in the book. well done! ^^

  • Damn! I always thought Myrdraal had a hood on to cover their face!

  • I'm on book eight, they are cloaked but the faces are exposed. they have no nose or marked features except eyesockets and a mouth. The nearest I can come in my mind to creating a picture is a skull with pantihose stretched over it.

  • Actually their faces are still shrouded unless a light source is shown on them (Rand sees no face in Book 1) but your description of a skull with pantyhose covering it is excellent, I can't describe it better. I also think they do not have eye sockets, just slight depressions where the socket should be; can't remember entirely right now, third time through the series, reaching the end of the book 1 now. :D

  • go go channeling

  • wow....this are such bad graphs.....i'd expect eveyone REALLY different! the book is great tough! i just think Aes sedai are so cool :-D and i think its strange that Mydraal have no eyes O_o and that the plural form is still the same :-X

  • I imagined Moraine smaller and Lan as more like Stryder from LotR. Rand was pretty close, Mat will do. Good try though.

  • fantastic work,

I imagine your extremely limited on what you can do (wild west setting) yeah like Noreevelation i imagined Lan differently. I like how Rand looks though.

    Again good work

  • lol. thx for the lulz.

  • Very nice job, do you plan to make more?

  • maybe

  • Where's Bela? I'm quite sure that in the opening scene Rhand and Tam are traveling with Bela and a cart to Emonds Field.

  • no she was in the village at the time im pretty sure. why would she be with rand and tam when they came from their home, and im pretty sure they were lugging some stuff with them to sell to the village which is why they were there

  • @realchinese

    bela is the horse

  • lol oh really? oh right the girl i was talking about started with an E. lol thanks for the notification

  • great! five stars

    RIP Robert Jordan

  • I've always imagined Lan to be more burly.

  • So how exactly did you do this? Do you have a computer program? Or was this an art project for school of some kind? Nevertheless, good, though a little different.

  • I used the movies game software to make it, but it was limited so I could not make the scenes as accurate as I would have liked

  • not bad, but couldnt u have changed some of the building txt to be less tombstone-y? oh yeah, and the myrdraal has a white face with no features, so the whole smile thing was wrong

  • Actually, Mydraal have everything but eyes, so the smile is quite accurate. The books frequently mention the snake-like grin of the Mydraal. They just have no eyes.

  • this is pretty gud but where is Bela(horse) and the apple cider XD.....

  • Great job!

  • epic sound track.

I'm annoyed they split a memory of light into 3 seperate books, over then next 2 and a half years.

kid of reminds me of how the final harry potter movie installment will be 2 films.

    just drags out the anticipation.

  • What game is this?

  • The Movies game for PC Rom

  • This is Great

  • great! 5 stars

  • Obviously you know there's thing out of place here, and I won't mark you for that. You made an outstanding performance with what you had, kudos to ya ^_^ Lol, I liked Cenn, but I always had thought of him being alot wrinklier lol. Good job on it all

  • Just thinking how terrible it would be if my little vid here turned out to be more faithful to the scene than the upcoming *real* movie ...^_^ You can never rule these things out.....

  • like the FF mostly Celtic Moon

  • userlessname wtf? Are you just talking with yourself and spamming this video's comments? No one said anything negative towards this video, infact it is perhaps one of the better WoT fanmade videos on Youtube.

  • Wow this is brilliant! It has only been a few days ago since I finished the eye of the World. You did capture the scenario of the story. This is amazing.

  • ok for people complaining about realism to the books...this was obviously made with a video game (i could tell before reading the comments) so commenting on details is pointless. you could knit pick a five star meal but it all comes down to being open minded

pt 1 comment (i wrote too much)

pt2 is directly below me (rearanged order for dummies who dont know that they are listed from latest to oldest)

  • with that in mind you did remarkably well with what you had

animegirl, ignore the negativity from people who dont use common sense too well. keep making vids. i over looked "the movies" as a stupid game but i might star dabbling if i have a chance to make something this fun to watch

possibly collaberate in the future ??

leave me a message in my inbox if a co-director would interst you

  • Comment removed

  • rands got darker skin than that

  • Hehe, nicely done :p Can't wait for the real movie though :D

  • Love it, great job!

What's the music during the intro?

  • loves it. wish theyd make a new wot game.

  • NO offense, but Emond's Field does look a bit like a city, and really shouldn't. Well, done otherwise, though.
