  • The end of this solo is definitely the most jaw dropping thing I have watched on drums next to Dennis Chambers. Wow.

  • Who's Tony Roys-... Oh, wait. You mean that WASN'T God playing drums!?

  • 3plets in bass drums.. it hurts... ouch.

  • sweet!

  • Comment removed

  • He's the best....but its not like its complicated .....anybody can do that with talent and having a drum set around...oh and not to mention having a Dennis chambers around .......

  • @tezbeats this is unique drum playing. its not just talent you gotta know the right rhythm and all that.

  • DO SOMETHING ABOUT THAT 8"!! ITS HORRIBLE!!

  • musicians listen to all types of music

  • @ReashodEllis BINGO!

  • Very Gadd-like.

  • and Gergo Borlai?

  • aaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh i can see his left foot being put into use!

  • Billy Cobham Jr.

  • Tony is the best drummer I believe he has almost everything even a little mettle like he would destroy any drummer especially heavy mettle drummers because they all tend to do the same they are wack

  • @prdboy17 not really... tonys fucking beast. so is many "metal" drummers. honestly. look up the contortionist's drummer jon rice leech. cmon now.

  • Good stuff. I'm glad I ran across this video. Do you get to play that cool stuff with Jay Z?

  • i can't imagine how many hours has he spent to do this.. great job...

  • Robot Foot

  • And that's all Tony Royster Jr. have to say about THAT

  • this does nt make sense

  • look

  • STUNNING!!!!!!!!

  • haha my lil cuz was watching this and wen it got to 4:00 he said why did you fast forward lol

  • @229dmike LOL

  • he's the mj of drummers.....

  • Is it true he is going to be in a7x?

  • @MrBrodo789 no mike portnoy is

  • his drums are so crisp leaving no room for error.

  • legend

  • @BateristaVic then what's better than Evans?

  • @raokin466 Nothing is better than Evans. I have Evans Ambassador(white) on all heads of my set, and I use the EMAD dampening ring for my bass drum. Sounds fucking awesome.

  • @zepfan51 U mean Remo Ambassador?

  • @Drumzmer555 Woops. Didn't mean to put in Ambassador. Had Remo on the brain when i wrote it. haha. No, just have Evans for my snare.

  • @zepfan51 I see. i am currently using the ec2s on my toms. but im not sure of which evans heads to use on my snare as i hav been using remo's weatherking. Any suggestions?

  • @Drumzmer555 I would suggest a Evans Genera HD Dry Head. It's a 2 ply head with an aggressive rimshot and a balanced response. That's what I use. Then tune the snare a little tighter than usual, and do not tighten your snare stand.

  • @zepfan51 i see. how abt the power centre reverse dot?

  • @Drumzmer555 Never used them. Sorry dude. I may have used them a couple times when playing different drum sets, but not enough to have an informed opinion.

  • Awesome! \m/

  • wow!......very nice..........love it so much.....can u teach me how you does those things... here is my face book account..... i willing to learnn..... johanceneciro@yahoo.com

  • marching snare drum?

  • best shoes to drum in! Asic wrestling shoes...or however u spell it

  • OMG!!! DID YOU SEE 0:00-4:34!?!?

  • if you dislike this video you must suck in drumming or dont know music

  • If i were a rapper or R&B singer or a jazz guitarist i would have this guys number so fast

  • god his snare sounds good does anyone know what kind of snare that is and what head that is

  • @barneylover64 does'nt matter. I use a brand called "tuning my fucking snare"

  • @fuckin88er lol that's not what i meant you retard. I meant like what kind of wood because different brands of snares use different woods and some snares sound different then others asshole

  • @barneylover64 haha. Well why did'nt you say so? It does'nt sound like copper, steel, etc, and the only woods professionals use are Mapel, or Bubinga. Lot's of black dudes dig Mapel pop snares. Look into that. Pork Pie is a good example of a pop snare. The type of head he is using is clearly a 2 ply batter head. Probably an Aquarius.

  • @fuckin88er yeah it sounds like a maple i have a maple right now and it gets good crack and I've played on a steve jordan signature snare and that got amazing crack but everytime i hear tony royster play his snare that he uses just seems to get the most pop

  • @barneylover64 try tuning it even tighter than usual. Use a nut wrench to get it tighter than you would with a drum key. Also, sticks affect tone as well. Fuck around with lighter and thinner sticks like a long 7a. Usual the lighter the stick the more pop you can get.

  • @fuckin88er hey thanks for the tip i might mess around with some smaller sticks to see what difference it makes

  • @barneylover64 it looks and sounds like a 14x6 - the head - it's called a "Tuning your fucking snare."

  • can anyone help me out??? can anyone figure out the timing at 1:45.....It's messing with my mind.

  • @eliminshrintar 7/8 and 5/4

  • Diggin that pedal work, rolls and licks. Wha' - - a RAIDERS Bo Jackson jersey! Definitely a great drummer!

  • 4:30 IS that dubble base?:O

  • 1:53 right there. That's how you use double bass.

  • wowwwww every time i see him play. i got a long way to go

  • simply amazing

  • i can´t believe it,,,,this a really god gift,,its very funny that some people take the serious words to compare this guy with other drummers,,,no one can compare to this boy....

  • @warhead1970 go listen to chris coleman. he is 100 times better

  • @cpcc1983 your fucking crazy as hell! tony is way faster and more technical! chris coleman has not been playing as long and cant play anywhere near as many styles of music

  • @mrsmithcolin175 How long have u been. Im not saying Tony is no good, he was better as a kid. Chris is better. He has been playing since he was 2. he is 30 now. Get ur facts right, moron. Tony is only 24. In case ur as dumb as u act. Chris has been playing 28 years. So i would def say he has been playing as long idiot. And another thing. Clean up ur language. There r kids on here looking at this. U really show how smart u r..

  • Tony's right leg must have been blessed by the God himself.

I think Tony, Thomas Lang, and George Kollias have to be tied for first in the battle of the greatest drummers ever...

If I had to choose only one though, it would have to be kollias. Look up some of his stuff and you'll understand.

    Who agrees with me?

  • @Turekification ever heard of chris dave???? most technical jazz masterpiece to grace the world! you oughta check him out jamming with foley

  • He's awesome but his kit sound terrible. Like... computer..

  • the best

  • How does he do the sextuplets/24th notes on a single pedal?!? That just amazes me.

  • prolly the fastest singles on the hands and the fastest single pedal ive ever seen

  • you fuckn madcuntt !!!

  • The beat he runs at 1:50 must be one of the coolest I`ve ever heard. This guy is an amazing drummer.

  • @clerkpamp 7/4 is an amazing thing :D

  • @armedwithflowers Have a listen to a song called Wax Simulacra by The Mars Volta, it's in 11/8 for the best part of it!

  • This dude proves black people are better at drums

  • @YouFuckenConformists

lol... you just have to spend hours practicing, everyday. Thomas Lang is white and kicks anyone's ass anytime. Consistency, perseverance, and practice.

  • @DaveDrumstick Yeah, lol im a drummer and i cant be fucked doing that,im in a band, thats good enough for me

  • U cant get any better or more talented at drums then this, this kid is the pinnacle of all and any one who will ever play the skins, man is a genius

  • wow!!!

  • awesome bass drum

    whats his technique?

  • fucking awesome ending :O and all only with one foot!!

  • We all know the reason the camera is on Tony's foot all the time. Cause he has nice shoes!

  • Away better than Bozzio !!! :D

  • i dont like this as much as most of his others

  • What type of heads does he use? Coated ones look so much nicer than clear.

  • @nonmeaculpa Evans. The best drum heads.

  • did he died?

    did the drums died?

    did his foots died?

  • lol suicide silence drummer Kick his ass so bad wat a pussy

  • Show me a video of Alex Lopez doing this better than Tony Royce....and I'll believe you. Drumming isnt about speed........it's about technique. Just because you can play a death metal beat at 350 beats per minute doesnt make you a good drummer. Every see Tommy Lee try to be a marching band drummer? Barely pulled it off.....

  • @MonsieurBlindWitness let me guess with his blast beats? fuck off you ignorant metal head spastic sheep like every cunt

  • @MonsieurBlindWitness come on man the drummer of Suicide Silence can not beat Tony at drums. not that thats what its all about but what an idiot comment to write. I listen to that band and hes good and all but tony pwns his arse anyday.

  • @MonsieurBlindWitness nah, speed never wins over technique, its like import and muscle, muscle always wins

  • @satanthing yea thats all true, except import always wins over muscle :P

  • I wonder how fast I would run if my feet wer as fast as his hands.... smh

  • is e better than Mitch Mitchel??? o_O

  • It depends on what. Mitch had better hands and made better music. And Mitch had the most amazing creativity in a song. Not that Tony doesn't have it of course. But Tony has amazing feet, and has been soloing since he was a little kid. So?

  • Holy fuck his right foot is an alien!!!

  • YIKES!!

  • Nice!

  • i thought i pushed fast foward damn!!!!!!!!!!

  • Badass drummer!!!!!!!

  • Check out the new great drummer

    VICTOR THELL

  • THE GREATEST DRUMMER I HAVE EVER SEEN

  • @ProfaC2010 Can Tony Royster Jr. go up against Buddy Rich in a drum battle? Who do you think would win the battle?

  • the best of the world

  • It seems like he's using a pedal adaptation of the Moeller technique.

  • thats pretty much what he is doing

  • @legaeldan Youre probably right there. He's got his foot right at the shallow end of the base-plate and it looks as though he's hitting once, hitting again off the rebound, then hitting again. Pretty cool!

  • @legaeldan Yea... its pretty sick... soo much control...

  • @legaeldan Ya, when I first saw this video like 2 or 3 years ago I was amazed by his foot technique. Shortly after I learned about the Moeller Technique and I associated it with his feet as well.

  • so great stick control 1 of my favs

  • 4:08 = HOLY SHIT!!!

  • love the beat he goes into at 1:53 fucking awesome :D

  • @TheWeemaster- That was my favorite as well. One of the fills he plays toward the end totally baffles me every time.

  • my favorite beat from Tony royster too.

  • i wanna know how his foot can go so fast, theres gotta be a technique to it

  • it's called catching the pedal at the apex of each rebound in time. he's just slowly perfected it.

  • he uses a heel toe technique.but tightened up.its with the front part of his foot apose to his whole foot

  • its not a heel toe. its a slide technique. however, you dont learn it as a slide technique. more of a drop and lift. drop your whole foot down for 1 stroke, then lift and point your toe for the second stroke. when you get more comfy with it, the 1st stroke is just just the ball of your foot, then second is lift onto your toe. takes some getting used to and you have to stay real loose.

  • the actual slide technique is using the angle of the pedal to your advantage. for instance, if you attack your first stroke in the center or at the back, the next stroke is just a slide (or kick) up the pedal away. he does this a few times. its not something most people teach, rather they kinda do it without knowing it.

  • no... really? i thought he just randomly moved his foot...

  • cool bass- pedal hammer, nice splash-stack and snare sound

  • GOD personally taught this man how to drum

  • This boy is off the chain..

  • I love tony royster man he has some badass skill's

  • I remember Tony from a long time ago, when he was a small child, playing along with (and much better than) the famous Dennis Chambers (who I hate, by the way!!). Tony is a legend!!!

  • Zomg his foot at the end was like a blur. That'll be me someday.

  • WICKED!!

  • hes got mad chops, but like, common...none of it is musical...look at him playin with Jay Z...thats what writes checks, solid, musical, effortless groove supporting a band...none of this stuff...

  • Macdo2741, you got it. No doubt. It all comes back to groove. Holding down a solid pocket is what's gonna get you paid. Apparently, this is not an easy task for a lot of these drummers out there. After all the chops, they lack the ability to play a simple unwavering pocket. Uncourse, I'm not referring to Tony, because he can play pocket all day. But don't let the flash fool you when it comes to drums. A question I'll always ask is; let me hear you groove.

  • Just WOW

  • of couse you cant get the same sound with the toms because it is already programed to the mixer adn computer.. its in the recording studio.

  • one of the best drummers in planet earth =)

and such a piece of drums too

  • hate the sound of the rack toms, but awesome playing. specially the last parts

  • good drummer but his drums suck...

  • dw>powerbeat! jajajaja!!

  • Holy...

at times it looks as if the video is being fast forwarded!

  • I love how his toms sound like they're bouncing, no matter how hard I try, I can't get mine that way!

  • nice set!

  • Hess soo fast..

    fast hand && fast feet

  • From another planet.

  • uhhh why does it look sped up sometimes in the vid? o.O

  • because hes just that fast

  • anyone figure out what time signature hes playing at 1:50??

  • 7/8

  • dude, he has a beat in there from Primus!!! "My Names Is Mud" check it out and see that he did that very beat! lol.

  • he definitely does!

  • where?

  • cant see?

  • the rhythm is not the same, but i guess u mean that at 2:10..

at 1:00 sounds totally like primus's making plans for nigel-beat...

  • nice!! i forgotten that awesome band, download primus torrents!!! lol... sorry, mi english still sucks!

chido por recordarme esa banda , bajando los torrents de primus jojojooo!!! thx ^^

  • at 3:35 it looks like if he was like "hhhmm what am i gona hit next?!?"

  • the smallest tom sounds great and terrible at the same time....its like a bitter sweet sound

  • 3:35 going dennis chambers

  • he was a student of dennis chambers when he was young haha

  • This guy is the sickness!!! look at 2:10, omfg!

  • i think anyone would sound amazing on that drum kit :P its amazing

  • oh god yes :P

i soooo wish i had the money for even a 4 piece DW kit lol

  • this dude was better than me at drums when he was 12!

awesome drummer, i need to learn the Moller technique

  • so speed!!!

  • i know its mic'd up, but that snare sounds so crisp without any dampening on it , how does he do it

  • at the end It looks like the video is sped up haha. I know its not but I'm just saying. That ultra fast double bass notes at the end sounds like a car about to start or something. Rediculously fast. like 64th notes haha

  • some get it and some dont, enuff said.

  • u are retard

  • when he goes crazy the earth explodes!!!

  • um... DAMN!!!!!!!

  • what kinda shoes are those?

  • drum shoes, i don't know who makes them but they're his custom model

  • Sentraman4, those are wrestling shoes. Not drum shoes.

  • Yeh man. People can have specific shoes they use for set. Like mine are mostley puma's his apparantley are wrestling shoes because that is how he can get the most speed and cleanliness.

  • This medium....listen to Mick Tucker at Rainbow Theatre on 1973....That's the best solo drummer i never heart!

  • thats crazy,my id have major shin splints trying to kick the foot pedal like that hahaha, yeah boi

  • thats whats up.

  • Pretty neat, pretty fucking nice work. Yet, saying he is the fastest is ridiculous, since many metal drummers are faster! But in its own right, very outstanding indeed!
