sorry but hell is not burning right now, when you die you dont go to hell or heaven sorry, he rest in the grave until the day of judgment when Christ returns. Also man can only have eternal life by accepting Yahushua/Jesus as there savior so how can someone who has not been given that gift live forever in the flames of hell they would consume him. Hell comes from the word Sheol which means the Grave. God is not gonna punish someone who lived for 70yrs in torment forever that is not Just
Parables are stories with spiritual meanings, which is why Jesus' disciples would ask Him what did the stories mean. They were stories that they could understand in the temporal/flesh, but not in the spirit. Their spirits were dead. As are all mens spirits until God quickens them. Then one is able to understand and comprehend the word of God. Salvation comes first, then comes all the fruit of the spirit. I hope this is not out of line, but I believe this to be the simple truth.

They believe the rich man a lazarus to be a literal teaching and forget that Christ, who told the parable, is the firstfruit of the ressurection - not lazarus or Abraham or anyone else. Jesus NEVER used the word hell. He said Gehenna Fire--a garbage dump outside of Jeruselum. Hell has been mistranslated so many times. It usually means the grave. Don't take my word for it. Study the true meaning of Gehenna Fire. Don't believe man and satan's lie. Believe God.

@wazitbemon You don't have to be poor to go to heaven. That's what unbelievers as well as some christians don't understand. God WANTS us to live a prosphorus life but it's wrong when you have no desire to live for God and feel that your hope lies in the world and material posessions. That's what the rich man represented. I think the whole moral of the story is to focus on what counts though. You're not taking any possesions to the grave with you. The rich man wasn't rich anymore when he died.

@Mary, In John 6:63 you will find that Yehushua said that His words are spirit (not literal), and the parable of Lazerus is not to be taken literaly, so if it was a spiritual message, what does it mean? It is Yehushua telling the wealthy pharisees that the blessings from God given to them will end, because they would not share the Word of God with the gentiles. The five brothers that the rich man talked about were the 5 brothers of Judah by the Jacob and Leah (Gen. 35:23). The rich man said that his brothers would believe if someone came back from the dead...they would not...this is speaking of Lazarus (not Jesus)...Lazarus came back from the dead and some believed but many did not. This is a parable and is not to be taken literally. Lazarus represents Israel (the ten lost tribes who God divorced / (Jeremiah 3:8). and Christ came to find and marry his bride...Jesus came to seek that which was LOST....who was lost? It was Israel. The rich man represents Judah (God did not divorce but she still played the harlot).

Parables are stories with spiritual meanings, which is why Jesus' disciples would ask Him what did the stories mean. They were stories that they could understand in the temporal/flesh, but not in the spirit. Their spirits were dead. As are all mens spirits until God quickens them. Then one is able to understand and comprehend the word of God. Salvation comes first, then comes all the fruit of the spirit. The Rich Man & Lazarus is merely a parable, not a rendition of an actual account. Jesus spoke in parables to obscure the true meaning of them from the multitude. Matthew 13:10, "And the disciples came and said unto Him(Jesus), "Why do you speak to them(The multitude) in parables?" God WANTS us to live a prosphorus life but it's wrong when you have no desire to live for God and feel that your hope lies in the world and material posessions. That's what the rich man represented. I think the whole moral of the story is to focus on what counts though. You're not taking any possesions to the grave with you. The rich man wasn't rich anymore when he died.

@Mary, In John 6:63 you will find that Yehushua said that His words are spirit (not literal), and the parable of Lazerus is not to be taken literaly, so if it was a spiritual message, what does it mean? It is Yehushua telling the wealthy pharisees that the blessings from God given to them will end, because they would not share the Word of God with the gentiles. The five brothers that the rich man talked about were the 5 brothers of Judah by the Jacob and Leah (Gen. 35:23). The rich man said that his brothers would believe if someone came back from the dead...they would not...this is speaking of Lazarus (not Jesus)...Lazarus came back from the dead and some believed but many did not. This is a parable and is not to be taken literally. Lazarus represents Israel (the ten lost tribes who God divorced / (Jeremiah 3:8). and Christ came to find and marry his bride...Jesus came to seek that which was LOST....who was lost? It was Israel. The rich man represents Judah (God did not divorce but she still played the harlot).

The rich man represents Judah! But not just Judah as an historical individual, but collectively. All Israel under the headship of Judah, the Jews. And the Jews were "rich". There were five spheres (brothers) where there were "Jews" who heard Christ proclaimed after His resurrection:
Jerusalem
Judea
Samaria
The "limits of the land"
Those Jews dispersed "among the nations."
Lazurus (Eliezer) (God Helps) is identified as the Gentiles.

Rev 14:10 says that judgment in the LoF is in the presence of God's angels and Yeshua (heaven) Heb 12:29 says that our God is a consuming fire! Your KJV says in Rev 20:14 says that hell is casted into the LoF, so your bible says they are not the same. The looks of it, by your insults. You will go into the LoF. Read what happens to you in the LoF in 1Cor 3:11-15.

I never said I believe God is wrong for having hell, I said that the LoF is real, hell isnt. Why do we not punish the convicted and guilty with the same justice as you say our God has. Are we more just than God? Job4:17 If we are created in His image as scripture says, then why do we not burn our children in a BBQ for lieing or stealing, afterall, is it not the same justice as you would have our Father in heaven have?

No it is not hell. The fire (Heb 12:29) is judgment and chastizement. Did you even read 1Cor 3:11-15? If you are not going to at least read the verses that I give you and give a proper responce, then why should I continue to write you? If not, who is to say what is right and wrong coming from the text? No christian alive today lives based entirely on the bible. For one, you are using this computer. Light is the path to choose through christ or whatever other spiritual calling one may have. Fear of God keeps us from seeking light because we are always focusing on avoiding the darkness. If you focus on light, hell doesn't exist. Hell was created by men to scare people into believeing scripture.

I'd like to use different words: light and darkness for heaven and hell. Fear of either leads to it's opposite. Fear light or God, you tend to stay in a dark state or you live in constant worry about sin and hell. Hell is a state of mind for it only exists in our mind. Hell could be eternal suffering or losing all of your money and posessions in an earthquake whereas heaven can be pure bliss or being happy with someone you love. Basically, the bible was inspired by god (not all of it. i doubt god intended us to rape, pillage, murder, and torture our adversaries) and thus tells us lessons of conduct for spiritual heights. These lessons are similar to the Bhagavada Gita, Koran, Torah, and the Buddhist principles. As for who is right or wrong, who knows. It doesn't matter for you will follow what suits you.

He taught about hell more than anyone else and warned people to Fear God and aboid sin or they would end up in that fiery furnace where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. There are many cults and false teachers today who twist this just as Jesus warned would happen.

The KJV is corrupted and unaccurate. It has used the word hell to replace words like sheol, hades, Gehenna and the unseen. Find a better bible.

Not by practicing religion. All men will be saved, but it is the choosen few who will reign 1000 years with Christ. When I say few, I mean very very few. I suggest to you to build your house with gold silver and hard stones instead of wood and straw on the foundation of Christ. when they are tested with fire, there will be less to burn 1 Cor 3:11-15.

God said (note this is before Jesus arrived)(and this is the first of the ten commandments) "Thou shall not have other gods before me." God punished them because they broke the rule straight from Heaven and this is because Jesus hadn't died on the cross for our sins yet at the time.

ok, just off the bat, "killing" could mean that you accidentaly killed them and "murder" means the same but only premeditated. regardless of these terms, Sin is the worst insult to God. Yes we used to have to live by the laws but now that Jesus died for us on earth, our sins have been washed away and we dont have to live under the laws anymore, now we just have to have faith in Jesus.

Do you know what the definition of hades is? It is the greek version of sheol (grave). What is sheol? "If I wait, sheol is mine house: I have made my bed in the darkness"(Job 17:13). Does this verse say Job is in hell?
"If I ascend up into heaven, You are there: if I make my bed in sheol, behold, You are there" (Psalm 139:8). Is David in hell?
Sheol and hades mean the grave.

The is no knowledge in hades or sheol while the dead sleep. Yes God is with us in our graves, but we sleep until the great day of judgement. If you believe that our God will allow His children to burn in hell for 2 eternities, than you yourself are in danger. Only a few will be saved at the first reserection. Do you fall under these odds?
