technically this isn't fleetwood mac...it's lindsay buckingham...the version fleetwood mac does is...eh... poppy, faster paced, and all around crappy.
he perfected this version at this time, fantastic..so emotionally powerfull and soul searching, the best version of this song..thanks very much for posting
@MrAntiScope Ok, I don´t want to mock you or anything. But honestly I can´t think of anyone that likes FM less live then in the studio. Personally I think they take themselves to an ever higher level live. What is it that you dislike of FM live?
I never heard it played this way. It's haunting, and so beautiful. I love at the end when he is sing from his soul. Take that you youngsters of today who call yourselves musicians.
Huh, never knew about Harris... But I always thought Stevie was the love of his life... Everyone I have ever talked with that knew the band in depth (I was born in 1979, so they were a little before my time) always told me about Linsay and Stevie...
Anyone who likes this style of playing might want to check out Ewan Dobson, ewan doesn't sing, but he destroys with the guitar. sounds like three or so guitars going at once. But yea anything by ewan dobson is great. Big love reminded me alot of his songs. Hope you enjoy them!!! Lindsey is amazing BTW!!!!!!!!!
Try to imagine the pain, the slow madness, the heartbreak, pouring out from this man. On the one hand I hate that Stevie Nicks put him thru that kind of torment; but on the other, if she did not then we would not hear or see this kind of performance. This song deserves a simple description ; the wailing cry of a heartbroken man, denied the love of his one and only. And that pain, manifested, comes out as a desperate cry from the bottom of his heart...a scream from the darkness, wanting release.
@tasracho this song is not about stevie nicks, it's about carol ann harris. she was lindsey's girlfriend from the time rumours was being recorded until 8 years later. this song was written about her and their breakup. but i do agree with you that it is an amazing song and incredible performance. he's a genius.
Beautiful. If you close your eyes you can feel the music going through your soul, this is the true meaning of art in its form. This is why we need art, and this song and Lindsey Buckingham are perfect examples.
This must be the Best performance I've ever heard of a lead guitar playing/singer. Heart-rending singing and stunning acoustic playing in one. Absolutely addictive this one!
This has got to be the best song in the world. I know it's not but right now it is the best song in the world. Love Lindsay ! and Love this song. Hits me in the heart !
The history and emotions behind this song are deep beyond comprehension. I think this song sums up Lindsey's emotions about Stevie and Fleetwood Mac. He really tears into it because in actuality, this song tears him apart each time he sings it.
@fleetwoodmacable im the same age & always asking myself the same question. probably because either theyve never heard the music before or because they think that modern music is better(although i never get how that could be possible?)
@fleetwoodmacable It's a shame, but it's not like this is a new thing specific to this generation. Ever since there has been a music business the mass marketed crap has always been more popular than the real good stuff. Sad but true.
@fleetwoodmacable Man im 15 to and i always ask myself that very same Question . My kind of music in this world is Fleetwood mac , Pink Floyd and Jefforson Airplane
@GaTechSucks I wholeheartedly agree - however I agree so much that I took the time to fathom that it's actually 7 minutes and 16 seconds of brilliance.
The audience should be prostrate in awe after that. What an utterly virtuoso dynamic. Seriously fucking brilliant... as delta97779 put it, wow, wow fucking wow and wow again. Stunning. So I'm watching it again.
@2flappy When people like Yngwie are called greatest rock guitarist, it's definitely sad. He's definitely top 2 rock guitarists of any time I can remember, the othe being Mark Knopfler.
I always say about the Spanish football team, when you see Fabregas and Torres warming the bench, you know you're in trouble.
Similarly, when you hear this track that's been left off the live CD, you can assume the CD must be incredible, and incredible it so definitely is
Same applies to Rumours leaving Silver Springs out. FWM are one of the only bands that are so good that they can't fit on a CD, I'd give anything to see this gig live
Lindsey wrote it...Scored it....and Performs it.....I defy anyone to show me a songwriter / performer capable of evoking so much emotion and pure outpouring of feelings. Genius..Just Genius.
I am not a fan of Fleetwood Mac nor of Buckingham per se....until now. I stumbled upon this because I like the song "I'm so Afraid"(another masterpiece). There are truly no words to describe the feelings this performance stirred within me, feelings I wasn't aware I had. It's been a long time since a song drew me to tears, even if only a few. Absolutely stunning....I just watched it like 10 times in a row. The 2 people who disliked this are either A: Deaf or B: Inhuman, period. Thanks
FUCK. FUCK. FUCK. FUCK. If that wasn't PERFECT then I don't know what is and I don't think I ever want to experience perfection because it would probably kill me. that was so motherfucking beautiful! FUCK! sorry for being such a swearing machine but that performance just called for it!

IN FUCKING CREDIBLE WOW BLOW ME AWAY how can you not be moved by this version. The intensity vibrates through my whole body I Love This Fucking Version of this great song. Thanks for the post CroNix99. WOW fucking WOW and WOW again.
Lindsey is the most intense performer I may have ever seen. His performance is more profound because it's just him, alone, and it's impossible to turn away once he really gets going.
The reason it is left off the album is because its a lindsay buckingham solo song, not fleetwood mac. The rights are owned by a different record company.
