Surely if the drill jams it will follow the clockwise rotation of the bit,not the other way round?

Hi there, no, the drill bit is being spun clockwise by the drill and if it were to jame the drill would continue trying to spin the bit (until the clutch or brake kicked in) and therefore would try to kick anti-clockwise as the video demonstrates.
