One huge problem is that most of these kinds of efforts are operating on alternative energy data and issues profiles that are at least a decade out of date. Many of the concepts are still very worthwhile but they ignore the most critical issues and create a false sense of security.
@dirkstorm Hi...you have a point but these are all developing concepts and they are changing all the time but the more people discuss these issues, the more we will invent solutions. We cannot save the whole world, but if we all take care of our little corner, then some progress will be made. Just think, if a juggernaut was coming at you at 80mph, would you jump out of the way or stand still?
@HarvestCreative2010 I agree completely, that would depend on what I was armed with at the time.
With adequate knowledge to arm oneself with there is much that can be faced head on.
I do see the value in these efforts, but I also know more about the field than most people and know how much more is available.
For example there are vast amounts of energy that can be made almost for free right now just with the proper organic waste to energy systems, not incinerators.
