  • She looks like John Denver :)

  • best version :-D

  • yah she let the fame get to her didn't she? running around screwing people, smoking, etc... some nun. I´ll have nun of that. but i do like the song. it's fun. Fun nun!

  • intro too long

  • beaucoup trop longue l'intro !!!

  • C'est excellent pour DSK !

  • How sad. Strumming her signature guitar when there isn't even a guitar in the musical accompaniment, it's all synthesized. How appropriate she sings in a destroyed church...

  • @imanacer A ruin, centuries old cleaned up and obviously maintained to a park level by someone. After a few centuries I suspect the new roof on my house will be pretty rough too.

I doubt anyone is pretending this is any form or live taping.

50 years later the music remains magnificent and I don't even speak French.

  • No, she TURNED her back on the Catholic Church, her beliefs and the consecrated life whe vowed herself to... The truth of the matter is that she was a ONE HIT WONDER (and this song BTW sucked and not even God himself knows how this stupid song was able to make it to the top 10) and tried to revive a career that never really was. Let not sugar coat the truth.

  • @FMZ840 - thats your opinion - and not one that is shared by many. I remember when I first heard this song, I thought it was awesome. Her personal life was tragic to be sure, but she achieved what you and I never have my friend - and that is to have lifted the hearts of millions with this song even if but for a fleeting moment.

  • @Rosina57NZ No it's NOT an opinion it's the TRUTH... You cross into the assumption of what I have done or am doing in this life to lift hearts, minds and spirits to the ONE TRUE LIVING GOD. Perhaps you are just as boring as Dominique. You tend to focus on mindless simple songs with no meaning 'cause that is a reflection of the spirit within yourself! It was a ONE HIT WONDER and she could NOT revive a career that never really was... Let's not sugar coat wishful thinking and useless hopes.

  • @FMZ840 Well for goodness sake, its not the end of the world. How sad to be so vitriolic, its just a song after all.

  • @FMZ840 You really are one sanctimonious, self righteous sack of shit, aren't you?

When this song originally came out in the early 1960's she generated both revenue and good will for her Catholic Church- which it took and ran with for all it could. What the hell have you ever done in YOUR life that even comes close to the joy she gave millions with her singing? Instead of judging her from your highchair, asshole, you might consider growing the fuck up and demonstrating a little compassion.

  • what is the name of this church/cathedral/monastery...?anybody knows?

  • Please enlighten me. I remember this record from 63.I am aware of her tragic end, without knowing the circumstances. I have never seen or heard this version. Is this the same lady that recorded the original ?? I think this sounds amazing, approx date anyone. Excellent posting. Well done.

  • @dw69ful This was the last time she would ever appear doing this song. It was not long after that she killed herself. A very tragic end for a beautiful Nun who only wanted to speak with song. Yes, this is the original Nun who made this song famous in the early 1960's

  • wow... wow...... fuck the church by the way, they DID turn their back on her. Anyone who defends the catholic church should be sterilized. She was not on drugs. The Church could have offered up that she gave the money to them in 1963, but they didn't. As far as this video goes, a porno would have more dignified. I've seen much better production values from porno's at least. What a horrid steaming pile of crap. oh, and yea, fuck the church. Fuck 'em!

  • No, the Church did not turn it's back on her, SHE turned her back on the Church, left the consecrated life, sang about birth control, lived an openly homosexual lifestyle in opposition to Church teachings about such things. She opened a school for autistic childern, and should be commended for her work on that front. she was a victim of the madness of the time in which she lived, and came to this tragic end. Very sad. I offer my prayers for her soul.

  • I actually feel very bad for her. The Church turned their back on her and the government tried to get money beyond what it was already paid for. And between the church and the government, she got the short end of the stick. I hope that she found the peace and the glory that she deserves. She was a devoted woman of God.

  • Sad. 20 years after recording the great original, there she was again, all dyked-out, drug addicted and up to her ears in debt. Most music resource material calls this lame disco remake a failed attempt to resurrect her singing career. Sorry, but I can only see it as a failed attempt to $ in. Three years later she would be dead

  • she was addicted to drugs? for real

  • While it may be sad that her life came to this horrid disco recording of a beautiful song... it is awfully presumptuous to label her a drug addict. Just because she and her companion committed suicide using barbiturates, doesn't mean she was an addict.

  • @cowboyriffie: the world abounds with morons and you sir are proof of this, lol.

  • @cowboyriffie Umm, she was never addicted to drugs. And she was in debt because the Belgian gov't claimed she owed them $63 000 in back taxes on the money she made on her song, but she gave it all to her covenant, but there was no record of that, so she was responsible for the debt.
