@kloug2006 I have this camera and when I go to fecking record with it, wither in SD or HD there's weird and annoying clicky noises throughout....yours doesn't seem to make them??? I have no idea what's wrong with mine but have you experienced it at all? P.S nice birds...
@JRPythons When you are using the zoom while recording, it's very noisy and this is normal for this model. But if you always hear clicky noises, maybe your camera has a defect. Was it like that when it was brand new? Do you have a decent fast SD card (class 4 or better)? For 720p video, I use at least a class 6 SD card and for 1080p video, I go for a class 10 SD card. If you have a basic class 2 or slower SD card, the video can be choppy and jerky.
@kloug2006 Hey, thanks for the reply it's been like that since I bought it :( whether I record using the Internal memory or a card...the card I'm using is the one they supplied with the camera in some kind of an offer..the one I have just says ''Fujifilm 2gb SD''....I suppose that's a horrible card then?! I'll invest in one of the ones you mentioned as I wanna start making a few videos and stuff
@CharmlessMan1984 The only two brands of digital camera that I ever liked are Fujifilm and Panasonic. I've had four Fujifilm and at least four Panasonic, including two Fuji bridges and also two Pana bridges. These brands are kings of bridges. I've tried some Canon models too, but I never liked them.
@POkegreis I agree with you, because my new compact reference is a Samsung. I bought a Samsung PL70 two months ago, at a discount price of 89$. I was not hoping for very much but how I was wrong! This is a little gem. I am completely amazed by the price/performance/quality ratio! The only weakness is the noise that kicks in at 400 ISO, but I really don't care since I always shoot at base ISO (ie 80 to 100 ISO).
@POkegreis ...And one of the greatest features of the PL70 is the 720p HD movie mode with stereo sound. The movie quality is very good, comparable to Panasonic TZ series. The stereo mics are very accurate and clean. Check out my video "Samsung PL70 HD Video Test : Stereo Mics" and "Samsung PL70 HD Video Test : Stereo Sound" and listen with headphones or good speakers. Notice how good the sound is!
@CharmlessMan1984 I was disappointed by this camera because I expected too much from it. So I returned it to the store and exchange it for a Fujifilm FinePix HS10. What a big difference! I am very happy with the HS10 so far. The Full HD 1080p movie mode is beyond my expectations. The same applies to the picture quality ; it is so much better than the F80EXR.
@POkegreis Ok... I was comparing without taking into acount the price. But, I had no experience with neither the EXR sensor (F80) nor the BSI-CMOS sensor (HS10), so I didn't really knew what to expect. The problem with EXR sensor is noise. Previous Fujifilm sensor (Super CCD HR) was better in every aspect. My old F20se and S100fs are Kings of picture quality with low noise at any ISO. With BSI-CMOS sensor, the most frustrating problem is the Rolling Shutter in movie mode.
@CharmlessMan1984 The movie mode on the F80 is very bad. Crappy mono sound, noisy auto-focus and zoom, bad picture definition and so on... This camera is bad because of the price. At 100$ it would be great.

@JRPythons I believe the clicking noises you are hearing are the EXR sensor working, if you switch the setting it should stop. :)

I bought the fuji f80 film and I agree with you: he has disappointed me too!
Especially for chromatic aberrations which can be seen with when there is less light.
EXR also seem to do much damage on the machine rather than improve performance.
I also had to bring her back, and buy a Panasonic TZ10... I do not think ever buy a fuji in future.
Moral of the story: Fuji F80, absolutely NOT recommended!

@kloug2006 You never tried the compacts of Samsung.. =) Bridges are weaker...true...But Samsung is a COMPACT GOD!

Ok, but you can not compare F80 and HS10. The first is a compact, the other is a bridge not to mention that the second is twice as expensive

I think the biggest problem is the microphone. The audio is mono and low quality.
Also hated the noise of the zoom while recording.
