  • Such a shame we went bust :'(

  • @RIPRDFC I agree. I remember R&D when they went on their FA Cup runs and sailed up through the leagues and into League One. They were one of the teams I frequently looked out for as their recent record became noticed by their success. Shame they are not around now.

  • There were more goals in that Rushden & Diamonds game than there were pixels in this video!

  • @HammerLex77 I agree, the video quality is pretty awful, but I recorded it more for the audio than the video. The irony now of course is that Weymouth are still around and R&D are now gone.

  • The ironic thing now is that Rushden & Diamonds went bust...

  • @Adschi2010 That's a real shame actually because I have always had a bit of a soft spot for R&D.

  • @LordHeath1972 They were a good Club, spent a lot of time watching them at Nene Park in the Brian Talbot era. Such a shame as you say, always kept an eye out for them on Final Score/in the Sunday Papers

  • @alexsmith3210 Hopefully AFC Rushden and Diamonds will be just as great...

  • @mike67098 "AFC" R&D? What happened? What a shame that such a good team have ended up like this. I remember their surge from the Conference into League Two and then promoted to League One before falling again. Such a shame.

  • @LordHeath1972 Well R&D went out of business in the close season. Giving Southport a reprieve from relegation (If my team Altrincham had finished one place higher then we would've got it! :/). Then after all that Kettering Town took Nene Park for their own the grave robbing scumbags. Now a new club has been formed under the name of AFC Rushden and Diamonds, they currently only have a youth team playing this season, but a senior team will start to be fielded by next season! :D

  • @mike67098 Now that is what I call a detailed answer!

  • Altrincham 1-0 Woking. Yay!

  • Ha-HA

  • quality haha

  • I remember watching the goals rain in on Sky Sports News, after Weymouth had to let all their players go. They had to play the youth team. Ironic after what's happened to Rushden, but more sad than anything else

  • Haha

  • I didn't laugh....when it comes to Weymouth you get bored of laughing at the daily farce that goes on there:)..The guy with the tippexed 300,000 pound check was the best:)

  • @yeovil50 how does it feel to be 4 teirs ahead of your rival team? :)

  • @mike67098 well to be honest no one really sees Weymouth as rivals anymore. There are even some younger supporters that adopted Weymouth as their non-league team!. We actually wish them well.

  • @yeovil50 Your bubble will burst one day. Who are your rivals now, btw?

  • @Scottmachin I am sure our bubble burst long ago -our league posiitons over the last 2 or 3 years shows. Now it is just a case of survival and showing absolutely no ambition, which to be honest think will see us really struggle this season. As for rivals..for the older amongst us we probably do see Weymouth as old rivals but the younger generation who have never witnessed a derby with Weymouth, they probably see Bristol Rovers as our biggest rivalthen again Rovers fans will say we are nothing...

  • I laughed hard at the laugh at the end.

  • @zebecat lol poor Weymouth! Mind you, ever since this result I have been keeping a close eye on them and they seem to be picking themselves up again now, which is good for the club and their morale. But losing 9-0 at home is embarrassing, regardless of the circumstances!

  • Funny thing is this is now an average result for us :L

  • May aswell have the highlights of that match.

  • OUFC !

  • haha love the laugh at the end

  • @mikeytomm100 Oh I was so bad to laugh......I didn't realise what had actually happened that day. I feel sorry for Weymouth, and I always look out for their scores now deliberately. Shame, I hate to see any clubs suffer like that.

  • weymouth lol there so bad lol

  • i support rushden and diamonds and i laughed at the score line before knowing they played mostly there youth team, but still i heard rushden scored some decent goals anyway so you cant take all the credit away, but good luck to weymouth and hopefully then can get back up to the conference premier in the next few seasons :)

  • Maybe I get sick and tired of hearing how "great" Man U are? We all know how great they are - even the people who DON'T support them, but we don't need to be reminded of the fact 10 times a week thankyou very much. And I stand by my support for the cabbage....I make him right. Fucking Man Utd "fans" are always opinionated - and often wrong.

  • Cabbage 44, I can post whatever I wanna post and you don't even know me so don't tell me I ain't a football fan. I can laugh, cry, be happy or sad if a team wins or loses. That's my choice and my opinion wheather you like it or not. I'm off to old trafford to watch man u hopefully beat aston villa soon but if they lose it ain't the end of my world. Football is for fun & all this how can u laugh at a team is bollocks because everyone in this country is entitled to do what the fuck they want!!

  • Good on u lads keep supporting your team im a Mansfield fan and mate why where u laughing at the end i herd weymouth gave it there best shot with there youth team.

  • Yep I have to admit I was ignorant because I didn't know the facts behind the scoreline. Afterwards when it was brought to my attention I realised it was a bit silly. But the scoreline of losing 9-0 at home was amusing at the time - without knowing why at the time....so that is why I laughed.

  • Here Here!!!

  • deanreppion mate you are not a fan of united or even a fan of football by the sounds of things. Go and get a job and stop posting stupid comments cuz u have nothing better to do

  • Thanks for that comment cabbage444.... I totally agree with you - what a knobhead. I don't EVER think it's funny when any team get relegated, whether I like them or not. Sheffield United went through it a couple of years ago and it makes you realise how heartbreaking it really is.

  • Read ian ridleys book, kinda showed the sort of people that were in charge of weymouth, a real shame, hope they get out of this mess.

  • Good luck Weymouth, all CPFC fans are behind you, we have been in sticky situations before and we know you will get out of this.

    UP THE WEYMOUTH!

  • Great scoreline for you guys last night against Birmingham. Hail Mr. Warnock!

  • I also laughed at the scoreline when my mate Lord sent me the clip, was hilarious, I also laughed when Leeds got relegated to division 2 & when we beat Ipswich 9-0 & Nottingham Forest 8-1. So politics or not it was a score you's expect from dumbarton who I also laugh out everytime they lose. I support Man Utd & laugh if we lose, who gives a donkey's brothers uncles rat-horse!!!

  • having spoke to a lot or blue square and football league fans we all agree its glory hunters who support the man utds and chelseas that ruin football, all that money they have and charge for tickets, thats why us smaller club stuggle and some are going out of business along with halifax, scarborough, boston etc, etc. half the man u "fans" dont even come from anywhere near manchester

  • Like me , i'm not exactly a "fan" but I like them because my Dad is half Manc. My local team is Wrexham and I am a proper fan of a proper team like them. Big clubs like Man U , Man City and Chelski wreck football.

  • feel sorry for weymouth fans, but what can we do? i hope this aint the last of a nice football club

  • Nice of a Rushden fan to show support for Weymouth. Just shows you that football fans/rivals CAN get on. Nice comment.

  • I have to say that when I posted this clip I thought it was funny that a team could lose by such a scoreline - especially at home. But having spoken to a few people and read some of the messages on here and on other websites I begin to realise just how serious the issue is and why it happened. I regret making fun of Weymouth FC and put it down to ignorance on my part. I hope that their legacy isn't diminished over the debt that is hanging over them.

  • and for the record I was not laughing at WEYMOUTH, their plight, their unfortunate issues, because I am sure the players gave a good account of themselves....I was laughing at the SCORELINE without knowing or caring about the politics of it.

  • legslizard.... so you felt it appropriate to PROFIT from Weymouth's misery then did you? And you call me "ignorant"? Yeah mate

  • I'm not a Weymouth fan, I just think some people are clearly ignorant, as evidence by the comment ''for any neutral it was amusing'' - I'm a neutral, and I didn't laugh (though I did put big money on Rushden to win when the odds werw 1/1 last night...the bookies had no idea!)

  • lol i was like wtf. wen hel read that out as wel

  • You make so many excuses its not rushdens fault you cant pay your players is it

  • ok legslizard, calm your spoons.........for any neutral it was amusing....sorry if my comments tickled your mushrooms in any way.

  • Why did you say 'you gotta laugh' then? Who do you support? I hope your club doesn't suffer the same fate...or maybe you'll just laugh it off?

  • Actually I do sort of know the reasons behind this and I don't blame Weymouth at all.

  • Same. Its pretty upsetting about the mess they are in. They have to play 15,16 and 17 year olds in every game

  • we was forced 2 field a youth squad and we didnt stop singing it was funny lol we hardly watched the game
