Developers concentrate on the shiny aesthetics of games these days and if a games graphics are below the standard we are at then it is shunned and considered obsolete, disregarding the game play completely. I just got done looking at the new spyro games of this generation..its not the same game anymore, its sad. Spyro 1 had the best humor and level design of all. The enemies were my favorite part. They always did funny things to make me luagh: Gnorcs would moon you when you were not looking and act inocent when you were looking. The guys listening to music on the head phones while trying to catch a chicken with a box trap. The list goes on! Now spyro games are serious and dark. What have they done?

Well thankfully Activision cancelled the Legend of Spyro games when they merged with Sierra. I heard about the new Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure game which IS weird but at least it goes back to the cartoony route for Spyro. Still I'd love a game like the originals and with the presentation of either Mario Galaxy or Sonic Colors.

as i have been playing spyro since 1999, i have found that insomaniac games stopped creating spyro and moved to ratchet and clank because the devolper said it is hard to think of new ideas for a dragon. There is also a rumour that sierra may create one game like the 1st, 2nd and 3rd games of spyro the dragon. so stay tuned spyro fans :)

The new spyros arent the same anymore and the spyro 4 looks like they are made of plastic.... I dont own a PS1, and i do own a PS2 but i dont think it's the console that sucks, it's the games. The PS2 spyro games are horrible but i allways played the orginal spyro 1 on PS2.... other wise if it wouldnt work on PS2 i would get a PS1. I saw this game at the swap meet held at my college every Saturday. Sadly I didn't have enough money with me so I'm hoping to get it this coming weekend. I've never played the first one (a bit of the second), but I've always wanted to play it. I agree about most platformers having guns and crap now. Games like Spyro are unique in story, humor, characters, and of course music. Hell, I'd play old school games over the new stuff any day.

I beat this game a couple times. If you jump on the stones in the pond at this point you can still open up the bonus. You end up "backtracking" to this level from several level up where you learn to use the Super Charge ramp and then have to come back to this level to play the bonus. You can actually have done it right then.
