I think he secretly missed being young and being Ziggy. I may be wrong, but that's what I've always thought. There were the ups and downs of Ziggy, but all in all it was a shit load of fun. He spent his best years as Ziggy, so why wouldn't he miss him? Still, brilliant.

This is even better than the 1973 "farewell performance" but that's Bowie, just keeps on getting better. A little frightening to think that there were 17 years from Ziggy Stardust to this but twenty years from this to now. Can't see much of today's music getting hits on YouTube 38 years after first release but rendez-vous in 2038 and we'll see.

The posters all alleged that the lead guitar was off in some way and I ventured that the guitar was NOT (to quote myself; "I dunno guys, the electric guitar doesn't sound off to me at all..." - note the use of DOESN'T). I assume Bowie would have a competent player who was playing in-key and on-time and that was exactly what I was defending.
