  • Awesome Live in Japan ! Lucky Japanese people !

  • I was there...it was the first his live I saw...

  • Fuck you, guitar! lol

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAVID!!!

  • @ 0:04, what did he say, is that Japanese or what?

  • @GodfatherAl102892 I am Greek but I know this word he said Sayonara = Good Bye ( さよなら。)

  • 2:46 oh, god.

  • @2:27, fuck this guitar

  • No David, I'm not as wonderful as you are.

  • Yes I feel like I AM wonderful when he says it like that!!!!!!

  • Songwriter, singer, musician, performer. Peerless.

  • what a voice...

  • He is god

  • I was there, amazing gig !!

  • @0ckjj So jealous

  • merci David pour tes chansons , tes musiques viennent directement de la planète de Ziggy Stardust , elles sont trop bien pour avoir été faites sur terre . MERCI AU NOM DE TOUT TES FANS . =)

  • great song ! bowie has just some terrific faces ! he is a real comedian ! but the lead guitarist behind is totally out of tune (was it onpurpose ??)

  • <3

  • this video proves that bowies voice just became more and more amazing with age

  • One of the best male artists on our messed up planet, THE Star Man

  • He is a GOD !

  • Always gold.

  • He takes his guitar off, and it vanishes into thin air, just another piece of evidence to show that David bowie is god. :D

  • I have always adored Bowie. I have him tattooed on me lol. What amazing talent he has!

  • What ever he wares at any decade...just fantastic. A true icon and genius. I saw that show but in Santiago de Chile, september/october 1990 at the Estadio Nacional. A girl friend of mine tells me at the very moment he's coming up on stage "He is just like I thought he was"

  • awesomeness! He looks so amazing. :*)

  • i love him so much, this is sooo lovely

  • wow

    \o/

    from brasil

  • chev brakes are snarling as you stumble across the road...

  • I like how that curl of hair would come down and make the contour of a circle ;)

  • did anyone else hear ziggy at 2:00 when he said "there so natural" it sounded like he was 25 years old and ziggy again :')

  • @LiveLaughLucky this actually makes me cry ;__; such a gorgeous little glimpse.

  • @LiveLaughLucky Yes!!! That was awesome thank you for catching it! More people should pay attention to the awesome details like that, like when John Lennon does the Elvis (or Cash) move in Hello Goodbye.

  • @LiveLaughLucky i heard it, cool ,man.

  • WONDERFUL PERFORMENCE....WOW..

  • I love him. I love that he's still doing this concert even though he's losing his voice or something. Wicked. :)

  • @tommi5060 по моему, Боуй самый важный художник до сих пор!

17.06.2011г. Санкт-Пёльтен, из под Вены, Австрия

  • 7 people commited suicide after this

  • "shee if we all remeber theesh one" lol lol

  • He kinda sounds like he's losing his voice a little bit...

  • @LadyBowie1119 You are right, maybe he had a laryngitis when he did this concert? (check out "Suffraggette City" from the same performance)

  • Just a word: HERO!

  • That little bit of hair falling out on his forehead made me think there was a golden circle painted on his forehead again. I've never seen him look more like Ziggy after '73 than in this video.

  • No love, you are not alone!

  • Gänsehaut :-) einfach toll

  • this was before he gets his teeth fixed :( WHY ON EARTH WOULD HE DO THAAAAT.

  • @AleMayaOM I really agree with you!!! He should find a way to get the old cute teeth back.

  • what an amazing guy! <3___<3

  • guys ye have gotta to listen to camille o'sullivan version of this song, it sure does it justice, even bowie love her version

  • I wish his hairdresser would do something with my bloody mop! : )

  • fucking genius

  • who the fuck would dislike this...

  • One of the best ever! Realy miss him on stage!

  • I love this song, is one of my favorites of him...and his performance in this concert really really touch me... I haven't words for describing how amazing is Bowie...he's wonderful...

  • that's like the 3rd live video i've watched of that song in the last few minutes... and i noticed he changes the lyrics each time and none of the videos i watched matches the actuall original lyrics =)) love u bowie... masterpiece

  • The master.

  • I think he secretly missed being young and being Ziggy. I may be wrong, but that's what I've always thought. There were the ups and downs of Ziggy, but all in all it was a shit load of fun. He spent his best years as Ziggy, so why wouldn't he miss him? Still, brilliant.

  • l'un des plus grand , the best Bravo pour ton oeuvre geniale David...

  • Not many songs can break your heart and mend it all in one go. But Bowie does it effortlessly with many songs. This is one of those.

  • Beat this he's a cocky cockney and the bollox

  • スゲーな20年前でも40代だろ

    この曲をこんな渾身の歌い方できんだから

    ほんとにスゲーわ

  • God. You can see the passion in his eyes. Its a beautiful thing. I wish there were more performers like that today.

  • That voice! Amazing! So very sexy, mmm.

  • it must be from the sound and vision tour

  • When he yells "youre not alone" it always sends shivers up my spin.

  • he is gorjussssssssssssssss!!!!!!!!! hottest man alive!

  • fck me,,a love this man xx

  • Jesus, everything about this man is beautiful.

  • This is even better than the 1973 "farewell performance" but that's Bowie, just keeps on getting better. A little frightening to think that there were 17 years from Ziggy Stardust to this but twenty years from this to now. Can't see much of today's music getting hits on YouTube 38 years after first release but rendez-vous in 2038 and we'll see.

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah,love bowie viiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii lol

  • This man is a saint! :D

  • I love this man, love this performance. I do have a question though, what's that on his chin? I know he doesn't have a mole or freckle or anything there, so what is it? Not really important, I'm just curious.

  • I would imagine he was taking the pee because the natural Japanese crowd reaction wasn't exactly jubilant to the enormity of him singing this song. That's just the way they are, nothing personal, but you can see David putting that extra bit in for them knowing it won't do any good

  • Wheres Mick Ronson?

  • Fantastic

  • Beautiful breathy Bowie

  • lets see if we all remeber theeshwon

  • awesome song, not too keen on the guitar in the background playing though :( kinda annoying

  • did anybody understand the private joke at the beginning?

  • Don't let the milkfloat drive your mind!! xxx

  • SUBLIME.

  • sound and vision tour 1990

  • sound and vision tour 1990

  • Love the line "religiously unkind" ... lol ... genius!

  • Masterful rendition by the Master of popular culture himself !

  • It was 1990.

  • @mamasamu He is very emtional and he is about to cry - he loves Japan

  • @mamasamu merci pour la video admiration totale !!!!!

  • @mamasamu i think they are talking about the song dude.

  • @mamasamu It said 1972?.

  • @The12Child they meant the year it was out... Rise and Fall was out in '72

  • @mamasamu WTF this is when I was born ...

  • looks like the outside era

  • The ultimate rock star.

  • oh, God, he is gorgeous.

  • excellent

  • Through thick and thin, highs and lows, ashes to ashes when im down and out i just have to watch this, thanks Bowie

  • Haha, David Bowie rockin' the one gloved Michael Jackson look while wearing the puffy pirate shirt from Seinfeld.

    Still, awesome as always.

  • My son Joe, 1980-2009 RIP died suddenly pulmonary oedema just 29. I raised him on Bowie and he travelled the world diarying his journey and met some very special people...my little philosopher and poet-

dont let the sun blast your shadow Joe you may be gone, but part of me has gone with you and you live on in my heart so be comforted you're with me and I with you

...Give me your hand cos you're wonderful xxx

  • thanks for share with us... you are not alone...

  • @boozara

I'm sorry about you're son... Bowie is such a big part of my life that, whenever I have children, I hope that they will love him too and have him in their lives just as I have.

  • @boozara

Sorry about your son. I am so blessed with my two at 25 and 23, great big lumps - I cannot begin to comprehend your pain. I hope it gets a little easier.... fell to the ground like a leaf from a tree...

  • Amazing talent thank you Bowie

  • great performance, you can feel his energy on this. truly amazing.

  • which year?

  • wow.........

  • Everytime i hear this song i have a lump in my throat. Thank you very much, mister Jones for that great moment and for the joy you bring in to my life. God bless YOU, David Bowie

  • ---just turn on with me and you're not ALONE!!!!! WONDERFULL!!!!!!!!

  • wonderful.......

  • Just amazing

  • L'uomo più bello del mondo, lo sposerei ogni giorno della mia vita...ti amo David!!

  • Damn he's so sexy :-O

  • you are great David, I love this song, Good bless you too!

  • ive listened to bowie since i first saw him in labrynth when i was 5 i love him he is drop dead sexi

  • Bowie Is very very very very ³ sexy and handsome in this video !!!!!!!!!

He´s my favourite singer , sexy and perfect voice !

  • Ziggy album is one of the best lp s ever check out Mick Ronson he was Bowies guitarist and more, he belongs in the hall of fame give it a look

  • I was at this concert - and had fallen in love with the woman I married two months later. God what a concert - the wife turned out o.k. too

  • @bangkokgas I don't usually read Youtube comments, but I am glad I saw this one. It's the best comment on Youtube EVER. :D

  • @bangkokgas How is the sex? :)) Just kiddin' you don't have to answear. Just touch the screen so I know we are high fiving :D:D:D

  • @bangkokgas 2 months later? seriously?

  • @bangkokgas That's GREAT if it's true. So romantic. A dream.

  • I never actually listened much to David Bowie until recently. My friend made me listen to Moonage Daydream a few months ago, and I absolutely fell in love with it. I then decided to listen to the whole Ziggy Stardust album, and this song and Five Years have now become my favorite songs. I can't get enough of them and I've been listening to them nonstop for months.

  • @ragingruby1991 thats the song that got me into bowie

no, space oddity then moonage, but moonage is beautiful

  • Wow, what a voice he has! :D

Amazing song as well, so touching

  • I am turning in Bowie.

  • beautiful!!!

  • I wanna be Bowie

  • Lately I've found out that most of the songs I've "DISCOVERED" that has blown me away is an old song by Bowie! Or covers of old Bowie songs.

Unlike others, Bowie truely is ROCK ROYALTY!

  • The same happened to me, it takes time to savour Bowie, and in the end he is one of the few that still remains... what a great artist

  • the guy just has more style than anyone on the planet...

  • wonderful!!!!!!!!!

  • David Bowie has got to be the coolest SOB on the planet

  • i just love him

  • The lead guitar sounds great but i think the bongo player was waaaaay off.

  • Yeah the lead electric guitar is a bit weak (I wouldn't say off but it does detract from the power a bit). But honestly when bowie's singing who'se paying attention to some guy pleasuring himself in the background? Not I!

  • No Tamarshabi, David will not marry you,

    he will SAVE OUR SOULS.

  • What kind of a shirt is that? I keep calling it a "dress shirt" with the fluffy stuff at the hands and neck... I NEED to know what it's called.

  • Excellent performance of this awesome song, but my favorite was always from 1974's Live at The Tower Philadelphia.

  • so freakin hott o_o

  • Aboslutely wonderful! i love this song, and i love this tour! thank you very much for posting

  • wow that song made me cry...

    David will you marry me??

  • This proves that music is the universal language. The majority of that crowd probably can't understand a word he's saying yet they love the song. The world loves your music, Bowie!

  • i was at the milton keans gig and i wanted to shoot the guitar player as he was shiiiit he playd hereos and just fxxx it up bowie sang great but the lead guitar was poor

  • I dunno guys, the electric guitar doesn't sound off to me at all. And I'm a musician....

    But hey, I could be wrong. ... I just don't think I am. :D

  • I agree-- he seems to be playing 9ths & 11ths over the chords... bluesy dissonance.

  • mmm, ok, either bowie is right or you are, my money's on bowie

  • I apologize but I believe you are mistaken; I was referring to some earlier comments posted here. The posters all alleged that the lead guitar was off in some way and I ventured that the guitar was NOT (to quote myself; "I dunno guys, the electric guitar doesn't sound off to me at all..." - note the use of DOESN'T). I assume Bowie would have a competent player who was playing in-key and on-time and that was exactly what I was defending.

I believe you misunderstood what I was saying....

  • sorry about it. i guess i misunderstood...

  • When was this?

  • On the Sound and Vision tour, 1990.

  • I want to cry every time I hear Bowie singing, he's incredible.

  • yes me too

  • I love David!

Dont like the electric guitar in the background though, doesnt even sound in the right key!

    <3 ZS

  • yeah, the guitar is off. even more diappointing that it's clearly a technical and not stylistic error - that's adrian belew back there! the best guitarist on the planet!

  • yeah, he is a great player but he always seemed to do his own thing live - whether it fit or not. Certain expressions that are key in the original, just are not there. This is a very strong powerful song. Forget the layers. It is not needed. That was adrian's thing. You want RanR suicide. Check any version with the man-------Mick Ronson. Mick was pure unadulterated Rock and Roll.

  • ...all the knives seem to lacerate your brain...!!

A genius on so many levels...

  • I'll have my share. I'll help you with the pain!

  • Best Song Ever

  • David I love you so much.....

  • Anyone else find this performance very sexy? Just amazing.

  • Me me! He is god damn sexy! :-) And I love the song!

  • I'm a rock'n'roll suicide..

    I'm lovin it.

  • He looks crazy in his face, but it's just awesome!!

  • Clearly a musical genius! Just amazing

  • damn he made it sound real in the 90 s to .........thanks was a great live tune :)

  • he is so handsome!

  • This is one of the many vids where he is incredibly handsome and even for me as a heterosexual man, dazzling.

  • he becomes very serious when he start to play this even though he was just laughing

  • So many feelings in this song, I wonder if he wrote this for someone in particular.

It brings tears to my eyes because I want to say this to some people I know... I've had my share, and I want to help them with their pain...

  • I can relate

  • Good remember!!!!...I feel like the first day that listened this song. Was a night full moon somewhere of chile............

  • fuck the guitar says bowie

  • One of my favorite songs from this album.

  • love this performance :)
