  • creepy and scary videoing starts at 2:50

  • some girls aren't musical at all...

  • they look absoloutly amazing but then the second group of fouttes came on and they were a bit out of time

  • 5th grade!!!!!!

  • im surprised

  • @filmergeek i'm impressed ^^

  • Read the comments of "Panyatna" below. They were selected to be "horribly skinny" and any attempt to fatten them up wouldn't be very successful anyway. Their bodies are genetically predisposed to remain very thin and the taxing and physically demanding nature of ballet training helps them stay that way.

  • Does anone know the name of the song on 1:57? Is that from a specific ballet?

  • I think it's a female variation from Tchaikovsky Pas de deux, but I'm not sure.

  • @danceshdow16 I heard this song in Nureyev's chreography of Swan Lake, in I act, but I could not find it in all the other versions of the same ballet. So, maybe it could be by Cajkovskij

  • Ninguna tambalea, eso es padrísimo

  • Can anyone tell me who the two girls are who are always in the middle of the groups? I think they are very special.

  • that middle girl in the second group does not know how to stay with the music

  • no musicality what so ever

  • how can they be sooo good and muscular when they are anorexic skinny???

  • thats what i want to know too lol? except for i want to know also how they get so skinny and with nice long lean muscles - but they arent anorexic skinny they are just tall and very well porportioned and normal skinny

  • its all lens distortion - like the mirrors they have in clothing stores. Look at their arms to see how impossibly disproportioned they'd be otheriwse. Ballet dancers can't be tall anyway - 5'6" is usually the max tho there are a very few 5 7 around).

  • they work for many many hours a day and live off minimal nourishment.

  • Actually, by Russian standards they're very well fed. Ballet is taken very seriously in Russia and a lot of state sponsorship goes into funding the professional ballet programmes. Students are assured the best in training, schooling, facilities and nutrition. That said, ballet training is a lonely, hard life as these children are taken away from their parents at a very young age.

  • @avesraggiana same in China, my teacher was taken away from her family in the age of 11

  • Well, they have been meticulously chosen from hundreds, possibly thousands of girls at the entrance examination, with this particular physique in mind. Russia is a vast country and ballet is an honourable professional, culturally and historically, and so the selection of bodies is very broad. But still, so exacting is the demand in ballet that only around 60 students are taken into the first year. These girls are blessed with the correct ballet body - strong, slim, flexible and fit.

  • Yeah, they are really really good. They do fouettes way differently that the way I was taught though. How do they get any power without opening in the front? Maybe my teacher just learned it differently.

  • I suppose the power comes from the arms and since they're so out of their hips that that alone carries them.

  • To BalletNinja6, they are so skinny because they excersize a lot. The are not anorexic, some of them MAY be, but nobody knows. If they were anorexic, they wouldn't be able to do what they are doing. It takes a lot of muscle and energy to do that. And they "crash" off of pointe because I heard that they weren't taught the elasticity of the foot before. I heard that they didn't concentrate on the rolling of the foot and everything, but I don't know.

    They are so amazing!!

  • Does anybody know what the title of the music starting in minute 1:57 is? Thanks a lot!

  • That's Tchaikovsky's Pas de deux.

  • Thanks! Do you know where can i download it?

  • Why do they all crash down off pointe in between each fouette? I wonder if that's how they were taught, I personally think it looks horrible...?

  • i think some of them have anorexia Oo

  • I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU

  • Their legs are very clean and their pointe work is alot better than mine :) They need to support their elbows more and not be so stiff in theh arms and the upper body, besides that it's great (I'm glad I'm not that skinny)

    No offense

  • walaw. the last bit was like so motion effect can. or my com is spoilt. HAHA. anyway, maybe these are international students on the 10 mth programme there? who knows. i dun think the russians would wanna show their TRUE dancers on aire just like that. maybe may not be.i dunno.

  • dont like their arms but they are great!

yeah they dont seem to be enjoying that class! why they are so serius? they are wonderful

  • OMG why are they so skinny??

its like someone stretched them or something!

  • haah.. they only have skin and bones! lol!cannot stretch already. haha! stretched skin;'s wrinkled skin! kidding

  • they don't look very happy :(

  • omg. how old are they?

  • 14 or 15 years old

  • They need to lift their leg up higher. Their left is REALLY good compared to mine!! Haha

  • needs to be a bit cleaner. but they are good

  • the first group of fouettes was impecable :)
